sadie: im outsideee
Chris suddenly feels nervous. He looks at himself in Madi's full body mirror and smooths out his white button-up. His light washed jeans look okay, his AF1's are as pristine as they can be and the silver chain around his neck, still shines as the day his mom bought it for him.
"C'mere." Madi says as she approaches with a brush.
She starts to comb his hair, so it looks more slicked back and like he actually put some effort in. She smiles to herself and nods.
"Now go."
He lets out a breath and steps out of her room. Nick and Matt are outside, they take a look at him and give him a thumbs up.
"You look good, kid." Matt says.
"Thanks." Chris simply answers.
"Go! She's outside!" Nick hurried him out the door. The moment they open it, Chris catches Sadie stepping out of her car.
He sees her legs first, with some expensive-looking black heels on her feet. Then her dress, grey with some red and green pattern and stopping mid thighs. Her hair looks styled, and her makeup is simple but flattering.
"Walk, you idiot!" Chris hears one of his brothers say behind him in between their teeth.
"Hey, guys!" She greets them happily, hugging each of the triplets. "How are you?"
"Great! You?" Matt answers cheerily.
"I'm good, thanks." She looks at Chris and he could've sworn he stopped breathing. Up-close, Sadie was even more stunning, borderline perfect, like a doll. "You ready?"
"Yeah."
"Cool, we'll see you later guys!" The blonde girl grabs his hand and pulls him to her car. "What's up with you?" She asks him once they're inside of the vehicle.
"You just-... damn. You know?"
"Huh?" Sadie tilts her head, frowning.
"I mean, you look so..." The words get stuck in his throat when she smiles and looks at him through her eyelashes. "Fucking beautiful."
Sadie blinks quickly for a second before grabbing him by the collar and pulling him towards her. Chris feels her lips grazing his.

"I want to kiss you so bad, but I'm wearing lipstick."
"Who cares?" He puts a hand on the back of her head and pulls her in. Kissing her softly, he hears Sadie sigh into the kiss, the hold on his shirt loosens and then the boy feels her cold hand on his chest. "Doll." He calls her without thinking.
"Hm?"
"We should go." Sadie opens her eyes, looking like she forgot they were parked outside of Madi's place.
"Oh... yeah." She chuckles and turns the car on. "Do you want to put some music?" Sadie hands him his phone as she starts driving off.
Chris nods and goes through her Spotify playlists, he picks one named 'disney gold' and She's So Gone immediately starts playing through the speakers.
"Oh my God, me and my brothers watch this movie all the time."
"Me too! It's honestly so good, this and Let It Shine."
"Let It Shine slaps, I think it's my favorite Disney movie." He says, laying his arm on the space between their seats. Sadie grabs his hand and plays with his fingers. "What's yours?"
"I love Tangled. I'm more of a Disney Princesses kind of girl, you know? Or Mulan! Those are definitely up there in my list." She responded. "We should go to Disney, I think it's already decorated for Christmas."
"We definitely should, do you have any days off?" Sadie moves her hand towards the wheel so she can grab it with both as she drives through the Freeway. Chris' hand accidentally drops to her thigh, his face reddens and he immediately draws it back. "Sorry."
"It's okay, Chris." She assured him and grabbed his hand back, laying it on her leg with a smile. "And to answer your question, yes, I'll have a day off next Friday."
They start planning their Disney trip after that, her eyes shine excitedly like a little kid when she talks about the castle.
"I don't really talk with my family anymore, but before that we used to always go to Disney. Christmas was our favorite time to visit." She explained, a sad tone on her voice. "It was nice."

"You never mention your family." He pointed out.
"I had a fight with my mom. She didn't believed I could be an actress and I was stubborn about following my dreams."
"Oh." It's all he said.
"It's fine, honestly. I've been living alone since I was fifteen, well technically I lived with my manager but then I moved in with Xolo and Jacob." Sadie says. "I love them, they've been looking out for me since day one."
She then tells him how they came to live together, how Xolo and Jacob helped her with her homework on set and the late-nights studying for her exams.
They were talking about Cobra Kai when they finally arrived to the restaurant, she stopped at the Valet and handed the guy her keys. Chris noticed how he checked her out, making something tighten in his chest. They walked over to the entrance and a girl greeted them with a polite smile.
"Good evening, do you guys have reservations already?" Chris nods. "Perfect, name?"
"Christopher Sturniolo."
"Right this way." She guides them through the restaurant until they reach a table for two. "Someone will come to take your order, enjoy your stay." The girl leaves and the pair sit down.
"This place is so nice, how did you even found it?"
"We walked by the other day." He shrugs. "It looks even fancier at night."
"Yea— fuck." Sadie gulps. "Chris." She calls. "My ex is here and he's walking towards us."
"What?" He starts to turn but the girl kicks him under the table. "The fuck? What was that for?"
"Don't look, you idiot! Oh my God he's— Hi." She tenses up, looking at someone behind Chris.
"Sadie, hi." The guy walks beside Sadie. "What are you doing here? Who's this?" He looks down on Chris with a weird face, almost annoyed.
"I suppose we're doing the same thing as you, Mason." Sadie replies uncomfortable. "Well, it was nice seeing you. Bye!"
"You didn't answered my question." Mason says coldly. The blonde girl straightens her back and fists her hand when her ex boyfriend touches her shoulder. "You shouldn't have dyed your hair, I told you it doesn't suit you."
"Could you not touch her, please?" Chris rolls his eyes, the same feeling as earlier in the Valet pressing him.
"And you are?"
"Her boyfriend, so fuck off." He isn't exactly sure just what compels him to say that.
"Oh yeah? Why didn't I know about that?" Mason crosses his arms in front of his chest, leaning towards Chris with a triumphant look.
"Why the hell would you?" He raises an eyebrow.
"I'm her ex."
"And that's exactly why you wouldn't know, Mason." Sadie snapped. "Can you leave?"
"You shouldn't let her wear something this slutty, you know?" He says directly to Chris. "Enjoy your dinner." Mason leaves and Sadie sinks into her seat.
"Hey, it's okay." Chris reaches for her hand across the table and draws little circles on top with his thumb.
"He ruined our date, Chris!" Sadie looks like she's about to cry. "And he fucking tried to make me feel bad about my hair— and my dress!"
"Sadie it's okay. As long as you like your hair, no one's comments matter. And I love your little dresses, you look hot in them." Even after that, Sadie still looks sad. So he gets up and walks towards her, crouching beside her. "Fuck that guy, you look beautiful."
"You think so?" She looks at him with glossy eyes.
"I know so."

Makemake
"Makemake—a planet that is found in the far edges of the system known as Sol—was once a metropolis, like all of the other planets that populate the system. Now, like all of the others, it lies as a Sleeping City, forever dormant. No one lives there anymore—it has been vacant for years. In one of the massive cities that used to have a population that was in high numbers a sound could be heard. A distant sound. A beep, or a call, a message—whatever it was, it was an electronic noise. It echoed through the dust cloud filled landscape. The sound went on for a long time. It sat in a sea of quiet; no other noise rolled over the hills and bounced off the ground—only that noise. Only that beep."

Contact Through Voided Lenses
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Edit: Fixed some inaccuracies in the synopsis. The void is a vast unexplored ocean filled with various wonders and dangers all waiting to be explored by those brave enough to travel and record. Many souls do find themselves brave enough to face the vast distances, the various risks to personal safety and do the hundreds of task required on a craft. However, at times the void itself can be boring with absolutely nothing to do but as time pass and more and better technology is reached, things got better. The various trips got faster, communications became faster than light and you can be home to see your loved ones after only months now. Through the various planets whether rocky or gaseous, the various stars whether small or giant, the various systems both eerily similar or completely alien. As part of an expeditionary scientific exploratory survey craft, one could see that the void offers no reprieve from all the discoveries and wonders. At times, it can feel empty and silent where no soul can hear you scream and at others it can be overwhelming with sudden phenomenon that can overwhelm the brightest of minds. The void itself is a truly fascinating ocean where one must chart the various islands or drown in its deadly tidal waves. But the question still remained no matter how you try to hide it in of itself… is there truly other intelligent life out there? Are we alone in this ocean? Those very questions still haunt the minds of those on the crafts themselves as they brace for every jump ready for the unknown and the known. Many would try to explain that yes there is other intelligent life out there whilst other still say no after 2 centuries of continuous flight out of the home system. Still, those are questions that bury deep in the minds of the crew and those at home as the voidcraft jumps to a system with a single yellow star orbited by 8 other planets with one crowning blue jewel being the 3rd closest with its 5 oceans and 7 continents, a planet called Dirt which is inhabited by a primitive species called Humanity. Hello, author here and this is my newest dive into writing particularly for the Writathon currently in progress being my first one. I hope you give me story a try but in case you still want more information on what you’re getting into, below are some pointers about the story itself. First Contact: CTVL is a story about a first contact scenario between an advanced alien civilization and a slightly more advanced modern day humanity on their planet called Dirt. Characters: The story will take place mainly on the perspective of the alien visitors themselves though there will be human POV characters who will show how the rest of humanity react through media and forums. Action: It won’t be an actual alien invasion but you have to see for yourself how well first contact went. Sci-Fi: I will be very forward here, I WILL bend the rules of physics in order to add in parts of the plot and there WILL be parts that makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Theme: It will be a brooding story talking about the futility of pe… Just kidding, it’s mostly wholesome stuff to be honest here. Alien: The aliens themselves will… actually why should I tell you, you have to go and read it to find out what the aliens are though I will draw a few things here and there to aid in the process. Extra tidbit: If you are a grammar nazi or someone who really wants a realistic scifi story... this story is probably not for you at all. Anyways, that’s pretty much all I can say before I spoil something major of the plot itself, the story is slice of life so make sure that type of story is what you like because I am terrible with anything else as I found out, anyways, have a good time everyone and good luck to the other Writathon participants.
