Hinata POV
"I'm home!" I said shutting the front door and slipping my shoes off. The sound of little footsteps came running up behind me and I was met with a little ball of copper hair that matched my own.
"Shoyoooooooo your homeeeee." My little cousin Hikari squealed, bounding towards me with her arms outstretched. A smile tugged at my lips as I swiftly took the young girl in my arms and spun her around earning a loud giggle from her.
“Hi, sweetheart I missed you! How was your day?”
“I missed you more Sho! Me and Fuyuki made sandcastles at school today! ”
“Wow sounds like you had a good day! Shall we go see what mommy’s doing?”
“Ok! She’s in making Onigiri for dinner!” Hikari cried pointing towards the kitchen door.
“Mmm yummy that’s my favourite!” I said tapping the little girl’s nose before pushing the kitchen door open with my back.
The smell of freshly cooked rice and pork invaded my sense immediately putting my body at ease. In the kitchen was a woman who was just short of 5’2 standing over the stove humming to herself while searing pork. Like my cousin and I, the lady had matching orange hair, big brown eyes and a smile that could light up the darkest room.
“Im back Aunt Kanna”
“Oh Sho! Looks like your right on time! How about you two go wash up dinner will be ready in 5.” I nodded in response setting Hikari down so she wash her hands.
I’ve been living with Aunt Kanna and Hikari for almost three years now. You see Aunt Kanna is my dads younger sister. Her husband, Hikari’s dad and my uncle left her a few years back for another woman. According to my father he had been cheating on her for years but no one knew until he caught him in the act. Of course my aunt was devastated being left alone with her 2 year old daughter but slowly over time she managed to heal and forgive the man who caused her so much strife. Thats one of the reasons I admire her. Anyway when my father told her about my situation with school and stuff she didn’t even hesitate to take me in. Ever since then she treated me like her own and honestly I consider her to be my second mom.

Time flew by and soon enough we had finished eating dinner. I offered to clear up while Aunt Kanna put the now half asleep Hikari bed. Apparently my aunt had let her stay up so she could see me. Turns out she really wanted to tell me about those sand castles she had built. As I was putting the last of the clean dishes away I heard the faint sound of a bedroom door closing signaling that Hikari had finally fallen asleep.
I took that as my cue to start boiling the kettle to prepare a pot of tea for my Aunt and I. It had become a friday night tradition of ours to sit and watch movies with tea and ice cream. Ok look I know it’s a weird combo of hot and cold but it’s our thing ok?
A few seconds later Aunt Kanna entered the room letting out a heavy sigh.
“I swear that child will be the death of me one day.”
I let out a laugh walking over to my aunt to give her a hug. It’s true that Hikari can be a handful at bedtime, that girl always want at least 10 stories read to her before she can actually think about lying down and by the time the second story has been read she’s full of energy and life, it feels like a never ending cycle. Then again it has been a very common theme among us Hinata’s to have a lot of energy when we are young so I guess i’m not really that surprised.
“How was school darling? Sorry I didn’t ask you before I’ve been quite preoccupied with work.”
“ It was fine.” I mumbled while quickly averting my eyes heading back to the tea I was preparing earlier.

“Shoyo? Is something going on?”
“Nothing”
“Oh don’t you give me and of that nothing nonsense you knwo you can’t lie to me so might as well just up and say it. Did that Kageyama do something cause I swear if he did i wont hesitate to chop off his- .”
“What! No no Kags didn’t do anything I swear. Oh my god aunty! Its its something else..” I say handing my aunt a cup of tea which she immediately took a sip out of.
“ Then what is it? Did Something happen at training?”
“You could say that.”
“What is it? It’s ok if you don’t wanna say anything but you know if it’s really bothering you you can talk to me.”
“Y-yea I know um ugh it’s about the training camp on monday.”
My aunt’s brow slightly creased hearing this. “Oh thats right the one in Tokyo. Sorry I dind’t tell you Mr Takeda really really expressed how he wanted to keep it as a secret surprise for you boys.”
“Yea he told us. But-”
“But you're having second thoughts about going back after so long?”
She always beats me to it
“Yea…I’m just scared what if one of finds me. What if my team doesn’t-”
“Look Sho it must be hard having to go back there after what happened but the past is in the past. If you don’t want to see your parents and sister then you don’t have to and if you do happen to bump into one of them just remember only you can change who you are you are you and there is nothing can do about that. have no control over you anymore. I mean look at the life you have made for yourself here and you team will accept you no matter what they will understand! You have done amazing my love! And of course if you don’t wanna go you can always tell me and I’ll inform the school.”
How is it possible you always know the right thing to say?
“Thank you aunty. I don’t know what I would do without you.” I say giving her another tight hug and receiving a pat on the head in return.
“Anytime my darling! I think we should skip movie night tonight. I think you have a lot on your mind you should think through. Plus that child of mine had fully exhausted me. I can barely stand straight!” I couldn’t help but laugh. She really can be dramatic sometimes.
“Well don’t just stand there laughing at my misfortune! Hurry down that hallway and get yourself ready for bed!”
“Yes ma’am!” I said saluting her goodnight as I made my way down to my room. Shutting the door behind me I flopped down on my bed and stared at the dark ceiling.
What to do, Shoyo, what to do
