Flashback
Hinatacchiiii where were you at practice? I miss youu! Akashi and Coach are starting to get fed up with you skipping and your grades are slipping too! Although I don't ever remember them being the best but-”
“Piss off already Kise, can’t you see I’m in the middle of something here”
“Hinatacchi it looks like you’re lying down on the ground doing absolutely nothing with your life...’’
He’s right I really am doing nothing with my life, lying here behind the school sports shed in the furthest position I can get from that damned gym. He’s only telling the truth but it’s making me so mad.
“Hina, what's going on with you? I know you were only using 10% of your power at that last game we still won of course but what’s the point in-”
“What's the point? What’s the Point Kise! You, you of all the people you're asking me that! Well, let me ask you something! What’s the point in playing basketball if you aren’t there to play as a team! What's the point in playing if you’re not having fun! Huh, Kise! Now would you just fuck off!”
My sudden outburst made Kise visibly wince. I felt bad for yelling at him but once the words started flowing I couldn’t stop them. I had opened a box and now that it was open it was impossible to stop my next actions.
“Hina I don’t know what you’re trying to say, I don’t see the point in playing as a team when I am improving on my own and I’m sorry if I’ve done something wrong I’m just worried about you! You’re my friend and the way you have been acting isn’t like yo-”

In an instant, my hands came into contact with the taller boy’s chest pushing him as hard as I could resulting in him falling onto his back. The sound of our yelling and the loud sound of Kise scrambling to get up drew the unwanted attention of the track team towards us. Their eyes were wide in shock. Some dashed to get their phones while the others quickly started to gather around us.
“What the hell was that for Hinata!”
“For being a big blond bastard that’s what! Is the famous model upset that I might have ruined his perfect look? I'm sooo sorry.!
“Hinatacchi cm’on this is stupid! Please let’s just talk. I don't get why you’re so-”
That’s when I did it.
I slowly approached my teammate looking down at the ground. The tall figure in front of me quirked his eyebrow at my weird behaviour. Once I had gotten close enough to Kise I stopped. In a flash, I bent my knees jumping up and connected my fist with his nose.
Cheers and shouts erupted from the crowd surrounding us trying to egg us on further. At this point the entire track team had now gathered around along with other students who I'm assuming were their friends crowding as well.
Kise's shocked eyes met with mine, his hand gripping his face in pain, blood slowly trickling from his nose. He was looking at me with hurt and confliction written all over his face and me? I felt nothing. I knew what I had done was so wrong but I felt nothing.
"Move, I said move! Get out of my way you idiots!"
My body froze in its place. I know that voice… Both Kise and I snapped our heads in the direction of the voice and found our eyes meeting with the all too familiar heterochromatic ones. I instantly lowered my head.
"Hinata." The way he said my name made me physically shiver wanting to recoil.

"I cannot defend this pathetic behaviour of yours anymore. You will no longer be a part of the first string team. You are no use to me when only using 10% of your power. I am stripping you of your title of the 7th Miracle. What I say is absolute. No one will remember your name."
Something about what he said lit a spark in the pit of my stomach and somehow gave me the courage to let out a flat chuckle and look into the eyes of my former Vice-Captain. In the distance, I could see Coach and another teacher making their way towards the crowd of students.
welp looks like my time is up
"Go for it, Seijuro. Please do it honestly. I couldn't think of anything worse than being recognized as a part of this team. Just don't forget what ive done for you" I said walking past him only to find myself being pushed onto the ground.
"Lower your head. I never allow those who oppose me to look down on me."
Everything happened in a blur. Apparently right after Akaashi uttered those words to me Coach and the Vice Principal arrived and dispersed the crowds. Kise and I were immediately escorted straight to the principal’s office. Since Kise didn’t engage in any physical fighting he was able to leave with a warning, on the other hand, well I didn’t get off so easily. Because of the act, I pulled earlier, my attendance levels and grades. The school had no choice but to call my parents and suspend me from school for two weeks and forced me to quit the basketball club.
Driving home with my father was the worst. His eyes were blazing with fury the whole way home. The incoherent lectures and the repeated “I’m so disappointed in you’s” and “you’ve wasted your futures” vanished as the scenery outside the car helped my mind drift away.
As soon as we got home I stalked straight to my room slamming the door, falling face down onto my bed and burying my face in my pillow. This sound of course pissed my mom off as she came barging into the room giving me a piece of her mind but all of her words felt as though they were bouncing off me. I felt numb not that they would ever see that. I didn’t leave my room that night.
The next morning my name was being called from the living room. Rolling my eyes I dragged myself up and out of bed groggily shuffling down to the room where all three of my family members were sitting. Something about it felt unnatural.
What is going on here?
“Shoyo, sit down. We need to talk.”
My mom spoke first. “Your father and I have decided that for your best interest that you will be going to live with your Aunt Kana in Miyagi to finish your schooling.” I scoffed at this.
“So what? I get in trouble once and suddenly I’m being treated like a delinquent going off the rails? You’re just sending me away like I’m nothing?”
“Shoyo,” my father warned. “You know damn well this isn’t the first time something has happened. Do you honestly think that we haven’t seen your report card and attendance? Tokyo obviously isn’t the environment you should be surrounded by. Maybe it will be a wake-up call to be the man of the household. So it’s final, you're going to go live in Miyagi and that’s that.”
I shoot up from my bed gasping for air to try to help my unsteady breathing settle. It’s been a while since I have woken up in a cold sweat like tonight. The clock on my bedside table read 1.43 am on Monday morning. I groaned in a few hours the
team will be loading the bus to Tokyo. Great.
Tokyo, here I come.
