《Fallen Miracles》The Emperor's eye - Chapter sixteen

Even though it had literally been seconds since Raijin had gone inside Akashi's office, a very familiar and irritating aura started to build up in my chest. Boredom. I mean seriously there are only so many walls a guy can stare at. Eventually that feeling turned into curiosity and impatience. This was supposed to be a quick in and out visit. What the hell is talking to them so long? Carefully I tiptoed towards the door as quietly as I was able, cupping my ear and leaning gently up against the door. Two very distinct but muffled voices came from inside the room and were soon clear enough for me to hear.
"You're late Raijin, care to explain?" A very familiar voice spoke coldly. Memories quickly came flooding back sending immediate chills down my spine
I heard the sound of Raijin nervously clearing his throat bringing me a great amount of joy "My apologies young master. You see, the individual was more persistent than I initially thought."
"A sorry excuse. Mistakes are not acceptable when working for me. I gave you a simple task with a simple deadline and now you are continuing to hold up this meeting. You are very lucky you have been an exceptional help to me and my family in the past or this outcome for you could have been very very different. Now hurry up and bring my guest in, he's been getting restless."
Suddenly the conversation went quiet. In an attempt to try and hear better I squished my face right up against the door hoping to pick up the slightest sound of movement. But it turned out the only thing I would pick up is a face full of floor as the door unexpectedly swung open leading to my eventual face plant into the polished wooden floor.

"Oww" I groaned, raising my hand to rub the spot just above my temple.
"Young master, may I present Shoyo Hinata." Raijin announced in a formal manner, his stupid facade breaking for a split second as if to let me know he had triumphed.
The office, like the rest of the house, was very grand and well put together although it was quite hard to get a proper look as the only source of light came from a singular candle. Well this definitely sets the mood. I was able to distinguish the outline of the floor to ceiling bookcases that lined the room with a matching dark oak desk positioned in the center of the room. A dark figure stood in the corner with his back turned. I knew exactly who it was.
Pink hair and a suffocating aura that could crush you in an instant, The most intelligent and powerful of us all, The Captain of the Generation of Miracles, Seijuro Akashi.
"Leave us Raijin, I wish to speak to Shoyo. Alone."
With a final bow Raijin dismissed himself from the office, shutting the door gently as he exited and once again for what felt like the millionth time that night I was left in a room with a suffocating silence and tension.
Slowly I pushed myself off the ground so I could somewhat be on the same level as the intimidating person in front of me, being mindful not to irritate the newly forming bruises on my shins. My breaths were coming out shallow and forced, standing in front of my former captain didn't seem so bad up until now. It seemed I forgot just how inferior you can feel in front of him. Me being in Tokyo at this very moment has gone against his direct order, something I nor the rest of the miracles have never disobeyed. This situation is dangerous and that terrifies me. I have to tread lightly.

No Sho don't let him get to you. Remember this is for the benefit of the team for Kags... and for Natsu. You have to hold your ground.
A cold condescending voice that made me want to break out in shivers abruptly pulled me from my pep talk "I must say Shoyo, I never knew you were this unpredictable. What could you possibly be doing in Tokyo? After all I do recall me telling you never to return or am I just making it up?" Akashi spoke as he turned to face his expression void of all emotion.
"Akashi, you and I both know the only unpredictable thing here is your mood swings. I came here like you asked willingly to hear what you have to say so go ahead and I'll be out of your way ." I fired back, folding my arms in a defensive manner willing myself to stare directly up into those unreadable pink eyes.
Akashi merely raised an amused eyebrow and sighed at my boldness.
"You know Shoyo," The pink-haired boy started, walking behind his desk to take something out of one of the draws before making his way over to me ,the slight height difference becoming clearer when he stopped in front of me " I don't know why you waste your time playing volleyball. You're holding yourself back playing that futile game, the basketball court is where your true skills flourish which is why-"
"No."
"No?"
"No," I repeated "I'm done with basketball I want nothing to you or the other Generation of Miracles actually more specifically you you've been a pain in my ass ever since- "
It happened in an instant. One second I was staring into those calm pink eyes and the next I was holding Akashi's wrist trying to push away the craft knife his hand wielded. A warm liquid was trickling from the small gash on my temple where the knife had pierced. I looked at Akashi's hand, my eyes wide from the adrenaline shock and fear. Oh shit I pushed it too far. Now he's in control. With a shuddered breath I slowly angled my face to face the taller one hoping that I will be met with the same unmoving pink irises. However my prayers weren't answered when I found those heterochromatic eyes staring back at me. They were the equivalent to an eye of a storm. They looked calm but in reality there were many raging emotions and intentions behind them. I know I can be a chicken most of the time but these eyes are the one thing I am truly afraid of. The Emperor's eye.
"Now is that any way to speak to your captain? It is one thing to directly disobey my order Shoyo but disrespecting me in my own home is another. Perhaps these past 3 years have made you forgetful but may I remind you I demand respect." He said with a sinister look on his face, eyes burning holes into me.
I cast my gaze downwards with all my former confidence dissipated "I'm sorry Akashi... I just... Why am I here?" I asked, releasing my grip from his wrist and letting my hand fall limp at my side.
"Why? Is it a peculiar thing for two old friends to catch up?" Akashi questioned, tilting his head to the side, a sly smile gracing his lips. "We have much to talk about... especially what's coming next."
