Wednesday 3:57 PM
(Y/N) stared at the taller boy in front of her as he struggled to open the door to the nurses office. He had jet black hair and his hand was covering majority of his face as he held his nose. (Y/N)'s eyes widened as she spotted bits of blood on his uniform blazer.
Did he get into a fight or something?
She stood there silently, contemplating if she should try and help him or not. Of course the girl wanted to help him, but was extremely intimidated by him and didn't want anything to do with him.
...but his nose is bleeding.
"Uh, l-let me help you." She stammered, finally catching the boys attention. Kuroo didn't notice her turn the corner, but he recognized her immediately when he made eye contact with her. He watched as (Y/N) fumbled with the handle of the door, before sliding it open.
It's her.
"I'll find the t-tissues." She mumbled frantically. He sat down on the bed, while (Y/N) quickly grabbed a box of tissues and handed it to the boy. Kuroo gladly took them, wiping the blood from his face and putting pressure on his nose.
"I'll be g-going, now." (Y/N) muttered, walking to the door.
"Hey! No, wait." He exclaimed, making the girl stop in her tracks.
"Aren't you in class 3-4?" Kuroo asked, knowing she was friends with Kai. Every time, Kuroo walked past Kai's classroom, they would usually be talking.
"Y-Yeah." (Y/N) mumbled.
"I'm Kuroo."
"C-Cool, nice to meet you. I have to g-go now." (Y/N) stammered, trying to get out of there as fast as possible. She rushed out of the nurses office and down the hall. Unbeknownst to Kuroo, (Y/N) was extremely frightened of him. And unbeknownst to (Y/N), Kuroo had always wanted to be friends.

I didn't even get her name.
He stayed there until the bleeding stopped, taking in a sharp breath. Kuroo stood up from the bed and tossed the bloodied tissues into the garbage can and walked to the nearest bathroom. He washed his hands and cleaned up his face, he frowned at the spot of blood on his blazer.
Of course.
Kuroo stepped out of the bathroom and made his way back to the locker room spotting his bag that he handed off to Yaku. Quickly he changed out of his uniform and entered the gym, where he was greeted by his teammates. They had been taking a break.
"Kuroo! Are you okay?" Lev yelled, feeling bad that he was the reason that his captain got hurt. Before, Kuroo had entered the gym a bit late to tell the coach something, he didn't even change out of his school uniform. Lev, who had arrived earlier was trying to spike the ball and it ended up landing right in Kuroo's face.
"I'm fine, Lev." Kuroo reassured, chuckling a bit.
"You're alive." Kenma muttered, as the captain made his way over to him.
"Are you disappointed?" Kuroo questioned, making Kenma scoff. Kuroo let out a chuckle and he walked over to the other third years.
"Glad to see you're okay." Kai commented, as Yaku took a sip from his water bottle.
"Yeah." Kuroo replied, they continued to make small talk. But Kuroo kept thinking about the girl that he had met at the nurses office.
"Hey, Kai." Kuroo began, interrupting Yaku and catching Kai's attention.
"What's your friends name? The one you eat lunch with." Kuroo asked.
"Oh, (Y/N)?"

"Hey, (Y/N)." Kai called out, making (Y/N) look up at him. She smiled at him, as he sat down in the empty seat next to her. It was currently lunchtime and everyone was scattered around the cafeteria.

"Hi, Kai." (Y/N) replied, Kai was the only one she really talked to in school, he was really polite and even (Y/N), who was scared of everyone, found him easy to talk too. They had met in their second year and became friends quickly.
"How's your club?" He asked, knowing that (Y/N) had become the President of the Photography Club this year. She was the only third year left, currently.
"We're still editing the flyers for the school play. I think I'll have to stay late a couple of times." She explained, not looking forward to the mass hours of editing the flyers.
"Don't stay too late, (Y/N). It's getting dark pretty fast now." Kai warned.
"The walk to the train station isn't that long." (Y/N) reassured.
"Still. Anything can happen." Kai muttered, concerned for his friend. (Y/N) nodded her head and made a mental note to go home before the sun would set.
"Anyways, what are they doing this year?" Kai questioned, changing the topic.
"Oh! Romeo and Juliet." (Y/N) replied,"It looks pretty good from what I've seen." She commented. They continued to chat with each other. (Y/N) eating her lunch that she had brought from home and Kai eating the lunch that the school had provided.
"How's volleyball?" (Y/N) asked, making Kai chuckle.
"Kuroo, our captain, got hit in the face the other day." Kai replied.
"W-What?" (Y/N) questioned, not sure if she heard the name correctly.
"Kuroo, he got hit with a volleyball. He's alright now but he got a nose bleed, it must've hurt." Kai repeated, not realizing that (Y/N) was getting increasingly flustered. Kai's eyes grew concerned as (Y/N) buried her face in her arms from embarrassment.
"(Y/N), are you okay?" Kai asked, unsure what he had said wrong. (Y/N) could only shake her head in response, a million thoughts were rushing through her head.
He wasn't a delinquent.
He's the captain of the volleyball team.

Living a Long Life as a Legend
Reincarnating into a game-like version of a medieval magical world was fine and all. A good blend of two enjoyable tropes. Lock wished he'd been born with a bunch of cheats sometimes, sure, but he could settle with being functionally immortal by abusing the system as well. All rights to the art belong to Stefan Koidl, you can find his works here
