"I like you, (Y/N). A lot."
(Y/N) stared at him with wide eyes, watching as the tall volleyball player gave her a smile. But his eyes were filled with anxiety and fear.
"Uh, Kuroo-"
"You don't have to apologize. It's fine if you don't like me back, (Y/N)." Kuroo interrupted.
"No, um, it's you." (Y/N) mumbled.
"...what?" Kuroo questioned.
"I'm confused about my feelings for y-you." (Y/N) explained, nervously.
"O-Oh." Kuroo exclaimed, not expecting it to turn out this way. A large smile made its way onto his face, making (Y/N) confused.
"So, you've been thinking about me?" Kuroo teased, his nervousness suddenly replaced with confidence.
"I, uh," (Y/N) stammered, making Kuroo laugh. His hand reached over and patted her head as her face turned completely red.
"You look like a tomato." Kuroo commented.
"...it's your fault." (Y/N) muttered.
"Sorry, what can I do to make it up to you?" Kuroo asked, his worries temporary gone. He was just glad that a least part of (Y/N) liked him.
"...I should be asking you that. I don't even know if I like you or not." (Y/N) muttered.
"It's alright, (Y/N)." Kuroo reassured,"We'll still be friends." Kuroo replied, though he wasn't sure how that was going to work out.
"Really?" (Y/N) questioned.
"Yeah, of course." Kuroo answered,"Come on, lets go met up with the others. They've been waiting for a while now." Kuroo exclaimed. (Y/N) nodded her head and the two third years make their way down the hallway. It was much less awkward now that both of them got their feelings off their chests.
"It's a bit windy outside. Will you be okay?" Kuroo asked.

"Yeah, I have a thicker coat now." (Y/N) replied, laughing a bit.
"You should get a scarf next." Kuroo exclaimed, as they turned the corner. The volleyball players that had to go to the train station were standing there waiting.
"Hey they're back." Lev exclaimed.
"What took so long?" Yamamoto asked.
"The door was jammed." Kuroo lied, while (Y/N) went to quickly change her shoes.
"Did anything else happen?" Lev asked curiously.
"Nope." Kuroo replied, brushing him off.
"But you seem awfully happy." Yaku pointed out.
"No, he's just acting.....slimy." Kenma muttered.
"Slimy?" Kuroo questioned, offended by his friends comment while the others began laughing. Kuroo let out a huff, but was glad, Kenma took the attention off of him. (Y/N) glanced over at Kuroo who was talking to the rest of the volleyball team.
A different kind of happy?

(Y/N) walked into her classroom, tiredly. Over the weekend, she was trying to figure out her feelings. But it was to no avail.
I don't understand.
She softly dropped her bag next to her desk and sat down. Only a couple of her classmates were there, most of them probably still on the train or walking here.
Do I like him or not?
Shouldn't it be obvious?
So wrapped up in her thoughts, she didn't see her friend enter the classroom. Kai glanced over to see a girl staring blankly out the window. He put his stuff down and walked over to the girl to greet her.
"Good morning, (Y/N)." Kai exclaimed, pulling out the chair next to her.
"Oh, good morning." (Y/N) replied, not as enthusiastic.
"Something wrong?" Kai asked.
"...Nothing, I'm just really tired." (Y/N) explained, letting out a yawn.

"Did you not get any sleep over the weekend?" Kai questioned, amused a bit.
"Nope." (Y/N) muttered, remembering the hours of sleep she lost thinking about her and Kuroo. Kai let out a chuckle and he tilted his head.
"Maybe someone's thinking about you?" Kai joked.
Thinking about me?
"W-What?" (Y/N) stammered, an image of Kuroo popping up into her head. Her cheeks reddened and she was surprised.
Why did I think of him?
"People say that if you can't sleep at night it's usually because someone's thinking about you." Kai explained, his eyebrows now raised.
"You got someone in mind, (Y/N)?" Kai asked.
"Nope, no one." (Y/N) quickly replied, making Kai chuckle.
"Alright, I need to get my notes back from Yaku." Kai exclaimed, standing up. (Y/N) nodded her head and waved goodbye as her friend left. She fiddled with her fingers, going back to looking out the window.
Sorry, Kuroo.
You probably didn't get a lot of sleep either.

What will come of this unexpected change in circumstances? How will the tribes react? And will the Grashiens be able to rejoin society for good? Author's note: This is the first book in what is expected to be an eight-book series. The first few chapters aren't very good since they were written when I was about ten, but the quality improves around chapter 7. Please bear with it; I'll try to get the chapters in as soon as possible. Thanks!
