Lucy was telling me I'd be OK, that I should give up on Catherine (Teddy, but I was never going to call her that) but I didn't believe her. I'd learnt something new during the last couple of days. Lucy really loved me, she wasn't faking it. Problem was, I still didn't love her. My heart was with Catherine, and with Catherine it would stay. I trusted her more than Lucy could know.

But it had been days, and Lucy kept saying i wasn't ever going to see her again. But is that true? Will I never see her - my love - ever again?

"Hans? Come on, Hans, you have to trust me on this. I'm sad for you, and I know how hurt you must be, but she's Damiens now,"

"She's not Damien's," I said, grumpy. "she'll never be Damien's"

Lucy just shook her head. "she is, whether you like it or not."

Suddenly I thought of something. Something brilliant.

"you know she's OK... you must know where she is!"

She shook her head. "even if I wanted to tell you that, I couldnt," Lucy told me. "I don't want you to be with her - I want you to be mine."

I shook my head. "I'm sorry, Lucy, but even if you dont show me where Catherine is, that I can never be yours."

Lucy shook her head.

"then im sorry, Hans, but you are of not use to me."
