《The Chance of Falling》Chapter Fifty-One

I stared out at the field, knowing exactly where the timekeeper had sent me. The Weasley's.
I pushed through the long grass for the next couple of minutes, unsure whether or not I was headed in the right direction. It was only by luck that I stumbled out onto clear dirt, looking up at the massive house looming before me.
I was finally home.
I raced towards the door, not bothering to waste time knocking as I flung the door open, rushing into the arms of a startled Molly Weasley.
The mother I never had.
"Lilah honey? What's wrong?" Molly asked frantically as I sniffled onto her shoulder, tears of joy escaping as she encased me tightly in her arms.
"Nothing," I smiled watery, pulling back to grin down at her, "it's just been so long since I've seen you."
"You saw me not even a half hour ago when you went outside to get some fresh air after your argument with Harry, Dear," she looked at me oddly, raising a hand to my forehead, checking the temperature. "Well you don't have a fever," she mumbled to herself.
"Harry?" I exclaimed excitedly, "he's here?"
"Yes, in his room-" she began before I raced out of her arms and bounded up the stairs, not caring for the wet converse marks that I left on the floor. No doubt would Molly give me an earful about that later.
I flung open the door in excitement to Harry and Hermione huddled next to one another, Hermione rubbing his back as she spoke softly. The pair looked up at my entrance, Harry's face turning into an expression of guilt as he saw my tears.
"Li, I am so sor-"
I didn't let him finish as I threw myself atop of him and Hermione, hugging them as tightly as I could, not wanting to let go of them for a moment to wipe my eyes.

Harry was here. Harry was still alive.
I didn't bother to think of why, too caught up in rejoicing his beating heart.
"I've missed you both so much," I sobbed into his shoulder, not catching the confused look shot between my two friends. "I can't believe you're really here. I can't believe that you're alive."
Pounding footsteps could be heard on the stairs, a soft exclamation of surprise, as they no doubt probably tripped on the water that trailed after me. Heavy panting could be heard as they stood in the doorway, giving the younger generation a moment together before he interrupted.
"Lilah?"
That voice. That was a voice I would recognise anywhere. My head snapped up immediately, cracking at the sudden movement. There he stood, chest rising quickly, sweat beading on his forehead, adorned in his usual brown suit and crooked red tie.
"Daddy?" I whimpered, not moving until the incline of his head. I was in his arms in moments, breathing in the smell of chocolate.
Now this, this was truly home.
"You died, you-you were dead," I sobbed uncontrollably, knees buckling beneath me. I would've collapsed to the floor if it weren't for my father supporting my weight.
He tightened his arms around me, allowing me to cry into his chest as I remembered his cold, lifeless body. As I remembered the light leaving his eyes. As I remembered that I had lost him.
"You're him, you're finally him," I blubbered out inconsolably, refusing to relinquish my tight grip on him.
I finally had him back after almost a year, I finally had my real Dad back.
"How were James and Sirius?" He questioned, his eyes filling quickly with unshed tears as I looked up at him through watery lashes.
"The same mischievous little shits you remember," I let a laugh bubble out, of course, he knew what happened. He would remember the past.

"How about we get you a hot chocolate with some marshmallows and sit by the fire?" A smile tugged at the corner of his lips, knowing that it was my favourite.
"You remembered?" I laughed once more, the knowledge that this was my true father only solidifying more.
"I could never forget," he murmured, brushing the hair from tear-stained cheeks.
I couldn't believe how lucky I got as he guided me down the stairs, leaving me sitting in front of the fire to make my favourite drink until firewhisky was introduced to me in Fourth year.
The others occupied the surrounding couches, some even sitting on the wooden floor as they all waited for an explanation that I didn't know how to give. I accepted the drink offered to me by my father, blowing on it slightly before taking a hearty sip. Just as I remembered.
He took the seat beside, arm resting on my shoulders, pulling me tightly into his chest. I looked out at all the eager and confused expressions of my family, debating where to begin.
"So remember how I made all of you watch that Muggle movie Terminator with me during summer break in Fifth year?" I started hesitantly.
"Wicked!" The twins chorused, mumbling to one another about using my experience as a basis for their plans of a time travelling door at their shop.
"Surprise?"
