《A Misconstrue Affair✔️ ( Completed)》16. The Stormy Night

There was an awkward silence in the car, Anaya kept staring out of the window while Maaz driving carefully and slowly in the rain. Anaya wished they could reach their place soon, but she knows that was not possible in this rain. The visibility near zero. Maaz was driving as slow as possible, even she had some difficulty in giving directions. A few times, the car coughed, stopping only for a second before resuming. Both Maaz and Anaya got suspicious, but they didn't contemplate that it will stop working.
Finally, after what felt like eons, they reached Anaya's building. She unbuckled the seat belt and looked at him. Maaz looked back. She smiled but he doesn't, and her smile quickly dropped. She adjusted her expressions, - 'Thanks, sir and have a safe drive back home.' She said. She didn't want to talk to him, but also unlike him she didn't want to come out as rude. Maaz nodded acknowledging her. She turned and opened the door. She gasped feeling the freezing wind and the heavy rain. It was raining like cats and dogs. She took a second before stepping out. As soon as she came out of the car she got completely drenched.
'Crap.' She cussed, turned around and closed the door. Then, she turned and removed her heels. She held her heels in her hand and began walking. Maaz turned to face the steering and ignited the engine but it doesn't start. His eyes widened as he feared the worst. He tried again but the car doesn't start.
Shit!
Anaya stopped in her tracks when she heard her boss cuss. She turned around and noticed him trying to turn on the engine, but his car seemed to have broken down. She pressed her lips tightly. She looked up at the sky, it was raining heavily and somehow, she managed to escape the rain. She looked down at herself, she was already drenched in rain so what a biggie in walking back to the car. Hesitatingly, she stepped out of the building again and hurried to the car.
Maaz rolled down the windowpane when someone knocked at the window.
'What do you want now?' He frowned at her. Anaya bent bringing her face close to his.
'Sir. It is raining heavily, and your car has broken down. If you don't mind you can stay over at my place tonight.'
Maaz wanted to refuse. No ways. He can't take shelter in his employee's apartment. That too his secretary. If this goes out it will create a scandal. Anaya watched Maaz and mentally scolded him for taking so much time.

Irritated she spoke, - 'Sir, can you please hurry up and decide.'
Maaz frowned. 'Excuse me? Miss. Hasan'
'Hussain.' Anaya corrected him for the nth time.
'Whatever. How dare you speak to your boss this way.' He said. Anaya rolled her eyes and straightened.
'Fine, sir. Then keep sitting in the car.' She said sternly and turned. Maaz watched her go and then tried igniting the engine but failed again.
Anaya was about to step into her building when she heard his deep voice call her, - 'Miss Hasan.'
She sighed and then turned around. Maaz stood holding the car door and was getting completely drenched. She watched him close the door, lock the car and hurry towards the building. He stopped in front of her. Then, she unlocked the main gate into the building. Anaya pushed the door and Maaz, very coolly, walked in first. She ignored him and bent down picking up her heels.
The two stood in the extreme corners of the elevator with an awkward silence between them. As Anaya felt Maaz, she looked sharply at him. He removed his black coat and made a face looking at the drenched cloth. Anaya straightened avoiding her gaze from wandering to the white shirt clinging to his arms. She could see the shape of his muscles through the transparent white shirt. She gulped and closed her eyes, then, exhaled softly when the elevator door opened. Quickly, she leaped from inside. Maaz was startled but stepped out.
Anaya felt strange and conscious walking with Maaz towards her apartment. Both terribly drenched. Fidgeting with her home keys she eyed him from the corner of her eyes. He shook his arms and ran his fingers through his wet hair. Anaya looked away when his gaze accidentally fell on her. He got suspicious of her.
Maaz felt uncomfortable as he stood behind her while she unlocked the door.
What the hell is he doing? - He questioned himself. As he looked around his gaze fell on Anaya's back. Her wet white shirt clung to her body. He had a good view of her purple bra from under her transparent shirt.
Anaya pushed open the door and turned to face him, he quickly looked away pretending to examine the nameplate. He ran his fingers at the edge of the wooden nameplate.
'Come in, sir.' She said pointing inside. Maaz nodded, looked around the empty hallway and entered first. Anaya followed him and locked the door from inside.
Maaz cringed seeing the small apartment, it was pigeon-hole compared to his standards. Before Anaya could guide him, he began looking around. She felt embarrassed about seeing the house in a slight mess. Generally, she always keeps her home tidy but not tonight as she was busy daydreaming about Gabin.

'Sir, tea?' She looked up and found Maaz was missing. She bit her nail and hurried towards the bed-room. Wandering around, he found his way to her room. She stood behind him and breathed a sigh of relieve.
In her trial and error, there were few clothes laying scrambled on the bed. Along with them were few of her bras and panties. She flushed and looked at Maaz and found him shamelessly gawking at it. She pressed her lips tightly.
'Sir,' -She spoke sternly, he turned to look at her, - 'Can you please give me five minutes.' She said. Maaz nodded and took a step but retracted his step.
'But I am taking the room.' He said seriously. Anaya gaped at him.
'And me?'
Maaz thought for a while or at least pretended to and then said, - 'you take the sofa.' He replied coolly and smiled. Anaya clenched her fists and gulped her anger.
'Okay, sir.' She said and then gestured him to move out. He nodded and left.
Anaya quickly gathered all her clothes and stuffed them into the wardrobe and swiftly left the room. Maaz stood in the middle of the sofa room and keenly observed the sofa. Anaya cleared her throat and he looked at her.
'Sir, I will make the tea.' She said and lowered her head. Maaz watched her squabble towards the kitchen. He shrugged and walked inside the room. He pushed the door, it closed but was left little ajar.
He looked around for a moment before walking towards the wardrobe. He opened the door and all the clothes toppled down. It fell all over him. Angrily, he moved them but the strap of one of her red bra got stuck on his head, the rest dangling in front of his eyes. He felt uncomfortable with it. This was the first time he was touching a ladies' undergarment. He felt his cheeks burn as he removed it from his face and dropped it into the pile of clothes. Then, he leaned and fished out a towel.
He removed his shoes and socks, both were soaking wet. He scrunched his nose as he dropped it to the side. Then, he stood up and began unbuttoning his shirt. Soon, he got rid of his shirt, pants, and underwear. They all piled up next to the bedside table. Maaz felt relieved coming out of those clothes, he hates being stuck in wet clothes. He shivered as he walked with the towel in his hand. He stood at the edge of the bed and looked at the towel again, it was pink in color.
Anaya carried the teacup to the room. Mindlessly, she pushed the slightly ajar door open and froze. Maaz stood with his back facing her, but he was stark naked. She gulped and shivered as her gaze fell on his butt.
He frowned upon hearing porcelain clicking. He realized and quickly draped the towel around his waist.
Shit!
Both Anaya and Maaz had their cheeks burning red with embarrassment.
Maaz turned around and found Anaya looking wide-eyed with the cup and saucer plate shaking in her hand. He fixed his expressions and pretended to be cool.
'Hey.' He called, his voice hoarse. Dazed, Anaya looked at him. She held the shaking saucer plate tightly and gulped.
'Tea.' She said in a meek, shaky voice. Maaz walked to her and grabbed the cup from her. She gasped, and he frowned. She looked away and hurried past him. Maaz heard her gasp but ignored her and walked out with the tea-cup.
Anaya sighed placing her palms on her hips, she stared at the mess for a while before kneeling and picking out her night suit. She placed them on her arm and was about to walk towards the bathroom when,
'Miss. Hasan.'
'Ahh.' Anaya yelped hearing his voice, she turned and found him standing at the door.
'After you use the bathroom please place my clothes in the drier.' He said and disappeared behind the door. Anaya's jaw dropped.
Why she?
After she changed into her PJs, she picked up her clothes and stuffed it into the wardrobe. Then, she looked down at his drenched clothes and cringed. She picked up his clothes and felt disgusted picking up his underwear.
'Yuck.' She muttered feeling nauseated as she picked it up with her thumb and index finger. She stuffed it inside his shirt and pant.
After she came out from the room, Maaz walked up to her, - 'I am going to sleep. So, don't disturb me.' He ordered and walked inside. Anaya pressed her lips together.
'Sir, I might have to disturb you because there is only one washroom.' She called behind him.
'Just control, Miss. Hasan.' He replied from inside
Argh!!
She was annoyed like hell; this man has no chivalry or respect for women whatsoever. If she had it, her way then she would strangle him without any regrets.
