fluffy dreams
feat. endou and the others having pillow fights at the girikanan's
you hummed happily as you read through your alchemy books. as you turned to the next page, you sighed, thinking about the boys.
“hah... i don't get why endou hates studying, studying is fun.”
you chew on your lips as you spent your alone time learning new things. “well, i mean, it is indeed pretty tiring to have to read through millions of books, especially if you're a normal human.” you mumbled as you thought about it.
you rested your hand on top of your chest with a relieved sigh, “good thing i never forget everything i read, or else i could've been living off the streets.” you shivered at the thought (a spoiled child ;-;).
you suddenly paused when you turned to the next page, ‘summoning circle’.
you licked your lips as you read the content. ‘... a magic circle that summons people from other world?’ you squinted your eyes.
“i've never heard of something like this before. i only read this as a myth on a book i read when i was a child... who would've thought it even comes with a summoning circle...” you mumbled, bubbling with excitement. you blinked at the note on the bottom, “no presence of medium within 10 meter radius”, it warns.
‘mediums? there isn't any in the house and all the boys* are out so...’ you grinned and stood in the middle of your room, the book in one hand. “it's safe to do it here, right..?” you mumbled as you took a deep breath and smiled.
blue light enveloped your middle and index finger, as you began to draw the magic circle in runes. standing in front of the circle, you stated:
“!”*
the circle glowed brightly, blinding you. you winced when you felt your insides burning. dropping to your knees, you coughed as you clutched your chest. ‘it feels like my heart's gonna burst..!’
your vision darkened, and then you fell unconscious.
—
“manager, we're home!”
afuro opened the door and blinked at your absence. normally, you'd already stand there with a smile, welcoming them home.
“is she not here?” he wondered as nosaka shook his head, “that's impossible, today's not her shopping day.” the boys looked at each other with a sigh. ‘it's gonna be so quiet now that endou and the others decided to have a sleep over at the girikanan's for two days...’
“maybe she fell asleep?” fudou guessed as he removed his shoes (bc you'll get angry like a gorilla if he dirties the floor again) and throws his bag on the sofa.
“i'll check on her.” atsuya said as shirou nodded at him, “we're counting on you.” atsuya went upstairs as nosaka smiled, “we all should probably change our clothes and take a shower first while atsuya is finding y/n.”

“yeah, 'cause i can already hear her nagging at us for not taking a shower after arriving from practice.” haizaki said with a sigh as they all headed to their rooms (imagination: “these frothy flap-mouthed pigs! don't you ever come back here if you're not gonna take that sweaty smell off of you right now!”)
—
“hah...”
fudou entered his room with a heavy sigh, eyes closed and fingers tugging at his hair.
“where'd that woman even go...” he groaned as he took a quick shower and a change of clothes. drying his hair with a towel, he got out from the bathroom and planned to go to bed right after.
until he heard a squeak.
fudou turned with raised brows, “aah, if that's a rat, i swear y/n's gonna–”
“nyaah!”
fudou paused. rats don't make a sound like that, do they? he immediately sprung to where he heard the sound from. he looked down with his mouth agape. “a... child..?”
the child looked up at him with her big curious eyes. “akki!” fudou blinked, unsure if the child was calling him. her voice sounded so familiar, but he knows there's no one he knew that has a high pitched voice like the child in front of him.
the child frowned, eyes getting teary as she raised her arms up, bouncing on her feet. “akki! akki, up!”
fudou wordlessly held the child in his arms, laying her head on his shoulder with his hands secured on her back and under her bottom. the child giggled delightedly as fudou widened his eyes.
‘that giggle sounded a lot like y/n...’
he slowly leaned back to check her features. fudou nearly dropped the child when he noticed her features (dangerously) similar to yours. “no way...” he mumbled as the child tilted her head at him, “akki?”
he stayed silent, maintaining eye to eye contact with the child. his heart skipped a beat (oi that's literally a kid) when the child flashed a cute close eyed smile.
“akki'sh (akki's) eyesh (eyes) are pwetty (pretty)!”
fudou swallowed (“this is insane...”), he licked his lips before calling, “y/n?”
“akki?” you called back with your large eyes looked back at him. “no way, how'd you turn into a child?” fudou asked as he held you in front of him by holding under your arms. you only tilted your head, confusion written on your small face (well duh you've basically turned into a child now so ;-;).
“you don't understand what i'm saying?” he asked as he watched your expression. you only blinked and smiled as a response, but fudou knew you didn't understand whatever he was saying.
“so that means your mind also turned to that of a child's... but you somehow remember me?” he mumbled as your attention was drawn to the door, pointing at it.

“the door? do you want to leave?” he simply asked as you nodded, your cheeks bouncing together with the action. ‘her cheeks are insanely chubby for her age that i don't wish to know her sugar intake when she was a child, hah... that woman.’
“aah, right. the guys are probably looking all over for you. shall we surprised them?”
—
“... she's not in the garden as well...”
shirou sighed as they all met at the living room. “i've already double checked her room but...” afuro added as atsuya clicked his tongue.
“for now, let's just hope fudou comes back and–”
“i found her.”
they all turned to see fudou.
yes, fudou. but with a child in his arms.
“what– where did you get that child?!” hiroto screamed as he pointed at the child (or you ;-; whatever). “aah, this? cute, right?” fudou smiled down at you (who's nibbling on his collar and literally drooling all over him) before looking back at hiroto, who seemed to be sweating so much (hiroto is traumatized with kids,, wonder why ;-;).
“wait, when you said you found y/n...” nosaka trailed off and stared at the child in fudou's arms, “you couldn't mean her, right?”
fudou only smirked, and held you to face the guys, “looking at her might answer your question.” nosaka blinked.
“she... looks exactly like... y/n...” afuro whispered as fudou sighed, “that's because she is y/n.”
shirou looked right into your eyes out of curiosity. “does she... recognize us?” fudou nodded, “it seems so. but her mind, her mental state...” he trailed off.
haizaki sighed, “so to sum it all up, that kid you're holding right now is y/n. she completely turned into a child, but she somehow recognizes us... is that it?”
“ryou! ryou!” you made grabby hands at haizaki. fudou blinked down at you and asked, “what is it?” you pointed at haizaki and slowly began to sniffle, “ryou! ryou!”
“maybe she wants you to carry her?” shirou guessed as fudou sighed and gently passed you over to haizaki, who held you awkwardly.
“for now, i guess we should take care of her until we figure out how she became like this and how to turn her back.” nosaka said as they all nodded. “i'm thinking it's another of y/n's (failed) experiment. i don't think she'd intentionally turn herself into a kid.” afuro said as they nodded.
“if that's the case then we don't have a chance to do anything at all. if magic is involved, we can't do anything about it.” atsuya said with crossed arms as he eyed you, who's now playing (ripping it) with haizaki's hair.
“let's just do our best to entertain her til she turns back.”
—
“what's wrong?”
shirou asked as they all settled in their seats.
time flew by and dinner came. since you turned into a child, no one could make an actual meal for dinner, so they settled with pancakes. but you haven't been touching your food ever since.
“don't you like pancakes?” he asked as they all watched you. “wan' shwoberry (strawberry), y/n wan's shwoberry...” you mumbled with your lips pulled down to a deep frown. “aah, strawberry? ... we don't have that in the fridge at the moment...” afuro mumbled as your lips trembled and you broke out into a cry.
hiroto (who's beside you), clicked his tongue and cautiously stood, picking you up and gently patting your back. “you still have your strawberry milk in the fridge, will that be okay for you?” he asks (pshh baby talk) while gently shushing you.
you brightened and nodded, immediately ceasing your cries as you laid your head on hiroto's shoulder, arms hugging his neck.
atsuya immediately went to fetch your strawberry milk, as the rest stared at hiroto, surprised. “what?” hiroto raised a brow at the surprised gazes from the boys.
“you know how to take care of a baby?” haizaki asked as hiroto sighed, “my old man runs an orphanage, i occasionally go there to play with the kids.” he explained as he listened to you who's suddenly humming tunes.
“nyaah! atsu! atsu!”
you reached up to atsuya as he handed hiroto your small box of strawberry milk. hiroto held it for you as you drank through the straw. after drinking, you went back and rested your head on hiroto's shoulder comfortably.
“'m shweepy (sleepy)... hiro, y/n wan' shweep (wanna sleep)...” you mumbled as your lids began to feel heavier bit by bit. “yes, yes...” and you fell asleep.
hiroto silently gestured one of the boys to take over, his arms aching. atsuya went and gently took you from hiroto, walking slowly to your room and tucking you in, with the others watching.
atsuya stared at you for a moment before speaking up, “don't you think she might get scared if we leave her all alone in her room with the lights off?”
they considered the thought and arrived on a decision to sleep in your room as well.
they all went and scattered in your large room. haizaki decided to sleep on one of the chair beside your bed. fudou slept on the couch as afuro, atsuya, shirou, and hiroto slept on a futon on the floor.
nosaka stayed by your side the whole time, only leaning his back on the headboard and staring down at your small hand clutching his pinky.
“good night, have a sweet dream.”

The Depths of Magic
Synopsis It's the year 2052 and the release of the new next-generation full-dive VRMMO game called The Depths of Magic is hitting the world by storm. The game's technology will surpass all other games before it and shock the masses. Hector who goes by the name Locke inside the game is an experienced player of the genre. He is looking to continue his goal of enjoying gaming as well as the competition that goes along with competing for the top ranking spots. Novel Summary The Depths of Magic is a LitRPG novel focused on a Fantasy VRMMO setting. This is not a harem novel. In-Game systems The Depths of Magic features state-of-the-art technology never before seen in Hector's world. The key system the novel will bring up often is the Second Brain. The Second Brain system is more like a guidance AI for the players in the game that acts as if you had a second brain assisting your every action. How much guidance this AI will give is based on its experience or mastery skills a player will receive in the game. The guidance is seamless to a point where a player won't even realize they are being assisted, it's will feel like what they are doing is something they could always do. However, once they leave the game it will become quite apparent that they were receiving heavy guidance. The purpose of this system in a writing sense is to explain why a player can realistically become more powerful, more agile, or more skilled than they would otherwise be able to as a human. To give an example if someone could move faster than a bullet, how would a normal human brain be able to perceive and control this movement properly. Or how could a player who has never held a sword before become as experienced as someone who has trained with the sword all their lives? The magic system will be another focus of this novel. I don't want to spoil anything here but it should be an interesting one. The hope is that the system I have made will spark discussion between the readers on what combinations will do what. I already have most of it, but it will be fun to read as the author. Side notes My general focus for this novel is to attempt to make the in-game systems make sense. To give a vague example I have read a lot of novels of this genre and some have the habit of just creating such powerful items that it just breaks the system, and somehow the MC keeps finding challenging situations even with those items. What tends to happen when I read a novel like this I just ignore the stats of the items he is getting because the numbers don't even matter anymore. Release schedule: The chapter release schedule due to real-life complications is to release as I write them. Patreon setup: 1 chapter early release/discord access. Free content up to the current chapter includes an excel sheet that contains Locke's current stats at the end of the chapter. This is extra information for those that are interested.
