surprise
feat. the boys wondering where atsuya was the whole time
atsuya whistled as he walked through the halls of the dorm (it's a mansion i swear), arms raised and crossed behind his head in a carefree way.
it was an understatement to say that atsuya was bored- he was very very bored.
as much as he wanted to go play soccer, their headquarters is currently under renovation, and playing soccer on the gardens (the only place in the dorm that's suitable for sports) is a big no no (he'll face your wrath if he disobeys).
he thought of going out to find a place where he can play freely but then again, atsuya was not only bored; he, too, was lazy.
atsuya could go hang out with the boys but unfortunately, they were all busy on their own- unlike him.
the only person left for him to bother was his loving (not), dedicated (not), and hardworking manager. which was you.
atsuya stopped in front of your office (no, more like study) with an evil grin. he was about to open the door when someone beat him to it.
"huh? atsuya?"
atsuya only blinked at you with lovestruck eyes.
staring at your plump small lips slightly agape and your fine brows raised, his eyes travelled to meet yours- the jewelled orbs that caught his interest (and his heart uwu) the first time it landed on him (staring at ur eyes makes atsuya f̶̶a̶̶l̶̶l̶ ̶i̶̶n̶ ̶l̶̶o̶̶v̶̶e̶ all over again aww).
"oi, earth to atsuya..." you waved in front of atsuya's face before raising your hand and planning to slap him, which made him flinch and snap back to (the harsh ;-;) reality. you froze before clearing your throat: "what's wrong? it's not like you to space out."
atsuya only swallowed, "i-i'm fine..." his stutter caught you off guard, "hmm... if you say so- wait, you're a bit red- perhaps you caught a cold?" atsuya widened his eyes and shook his head vigorously.
you squinted your eyes and leaned your forehead on top of atsuya's, "hey, you're a bit warm. are you sure you feel fine?" atsuya quickly regained composure (before he could explode) and gently pushed you away, avoiding your gaze.

"i'm fine, i'm fine..." you narrowed brows, about to question him further but atsuya raised a hand. "where were you supposed to go anyway? are you busy?" he asked, suddenly reminding you of something.
"aah! right, i forgot i was about to go to captain!" you exclaimed as you gave him a quick smile before proceeding to go on your way.
"aah but i was just about to... nevermind, she's busy anyways." atsuya huffed (aww he's sulking). atsuya sighed, he's back to square one.
atsuya blinked when he realized he was still standing in front of your office. he grinned and decided to enter your study.
not a lot of people could enter your office. well, not that they weren't allowed to, it was just that they thought they wouldn't want to disturb you whenever you work (lol you rarely do).
shutting the door, he looked around your office. it was your normal office, simple and organized; a desk in the middle, a bookshelf on its right side, and a large painting hung on the wall of the opposite side. atsuya wandered and settled after into the couch in front of the desk.
"the room smells exactly like y/n... did she spray her perfume in here?" atsuya wondered and gave your desk a glance. he stood and grabbed the picture frame on your desk. his breath hitched:
it was a photo of you together with all of them; atsuya was sure that this was when all of you decided to go on a trip for a week in italy.
he stared at your smiling face in the photo. atsuya have never seen you show any kind of expression aside from your (different kinds of) smiling face.
now curious, atsuya wondered what you'd look like if you were scared, surprised, in love, and... (18+! 18+! OMG ATSUYA U PERV LMAO) atsuya blushed and shook his head, stopping himself from further thinking of such inappropriate thoughts.
placing the frame back, he was suddenly struck with an (idiotic) idea of scaring you.

with a grin, atsuya rushed to your room and contemplated whether to hide in your closet or behind the door.
to be frank, atsuya doesn't have high expectations for his silly project (the 'i-wanna-see-you-look-scared project'), he knew he had a slim chance of getting the results he wanted, but he was hoping to see (if not a scared one) a surprised expression, to say the least.
the male opened your closet and blinked at the clothes hung in front of him. he never knew you had a thing for laced dresses, he never saw you wear it after all.
shrugging, atsuya cautiously stepped inside your closet and closed the door.
-
atsuya thought he was in for a ride, he really thought he was.
atsuya sighed for the nth time (57th time ppl, he was counting out of boredom lol). he had been hiding inside your closet for, what, four hours? he didn't know and he didn't want to know.
he was so excited to see your scared (or surprised) expression, he really was. but you coincidentally not going near the closet every damn time you enter the room was not helping. at. all.
there were times where atsuya heard the door open and footsteps near the closet's direction, but it would always turn away and leave the room. it frustrates him all the time, and-
atsuya's ear twitched at the creak of the door.
"aargh..." he heard you groan.
"i'm so beat..." atsuya unconsciously frowned, hearing you. 'then rest, you idiot.' he scolded internally.
"i feel too sweaty... should i change my clothes?" atsuya grinned, 'f***ing finally...'
he licked his lips, hearing you drag your feet to the closet. atsuya readied himself for the stunt he was about to pull when-
"manager! endou is calling you!"
atsuya gritted his teeth at his older brother's voice. he heard a sigh escape your lips ("sometimes i just wanna be reincarnated as a rock, being a manager is tiring") and dejectedly waited for you to leave the room and you did.
atsuya sighed for the 58th time.
-
you massaged your temples with a sigh, forcing your legs to move despite the fatigue.
fortunately, your work (and errands ;-;) for the day has ended and it was time for you to retire on your bed (altho u secretly wished to retire from your work instead lol).
you opened the door slowly and entered your room. you tried to blink back your drowsiness and quickly went to your closet, thinking about taking a quick shower before going to bed (bc u feel sweaty that's why ;-;).
what you saw inside your closet surprised you though.
"atsuya..?" you whispered, baffled.
the male was curled up in your closet, asleep in an uncomfortable position. "this guy... he might actually get a stiff neck in that position..."
you wanted to ask for help but the guys were asleep already. you didn't want to bother any of them so you immediately tried to put atsuya somewhere more comfortable (with the help of your magic ofc), which was... your bed.
you smiled at the sleeping male after tucking him under your duvet. you placed one of your rj plushies in his arms and he immediately embraced it.
chuckling to yourself, you grabbed a clean set of nightwear and stepped into the shower. you stayed under the warm water for three minutes before drying yourself with a clean towel and changing into your set of rj pyjamas.
while drying your hair with a towel, you looked down at atsuya who has now turned to his side. you bent down and brushed his hair away from his face, caressing his cheek afterwards.
"what a big babie."
you giggled and grabbed a blanket and a pillow (as well as one rj plushie), heading to the couch and settling in. you snapped your fingers and the lights were off in an instant.
"good night, atsu."

Obligate of a Self-Ordained Sorcerer
Come join the Discord! It was a typical late-night friday for Mara, secluded in her apartment in front of a digital expanse, relentlessly mashing code into a keyboard. An introverted workaholic, but this was what she wanted - what she had strived so hard to achieve. So why did she feel so lost? Her life was productive, comfortable, satisfying. Plenty had it worse but she still felt... ungrateful? Stunted? The right word escaped her, but she could feel the general revelation settling upon her. With it came a choice that would set events in motion far beyond the meager scope of a 'New Game+'. So taking an intrusive portal to god-knows-where, Mara will come to find that her new world offers boons and banes with equal abandon. Magic, skills, and unforgiving difficulty. For a frail human shut-in, finding herself stranded in the middle of a sprawling dungeon was one of the least desirable outcomes. Food and water would be the least of her problems, why oh why couldn't she just get summoned by some pervy king to slay a demon army or something? This is a story of magic and adventure with skills and stats galore. A litrpg / isekai epic that I've been inspired to make after years of wonderful works like "So I'm a Spider," "Rimuru the Slime," "Azarinth Healer," "Negima!?," and plethora of other isekai and fantasy novels and animes. Special shout-out to Douglas Adams, a big influence on narative humor that's had a non-insignificant effect on my writing style. I hope you enjoy joining Mara on her journey as I attempt to scratch the itch they left behind.Chapters target 3-6k~ words. Though I'm personally aiming for a chapter every couple weeks, I think I can at least promise one a month with how busy work's been. I made a Patreon due to requests, if you'd like to support me there I'll be using it to fund artwork and RR ads for increased exposure.
