《Affair with a married man》Chapter 22

I sighed reading the text. I've only talked to her over the phone and met her out in town. I haven't been over there or talked to Ben and I know what she's asking. I did want to Han g out with Lex though. I reluctantly responded.
I called Will. "Hey babe. I'm gonna go hang out with Lexie for a while tonight. I'll call you when I leave tonight." I said. "Okay baby girl. Have fun. Talk to you later tonight." He answered. "Well I'm gonna go get ready and head on over there." I said getting off of my bed. "Okay. Be careful and have fun." I smiled. He so sweet. "Okay bye." I answered. "Bye." He said. I hung up my phone and grabbed my purse and charger and stuff. I left my room and went downstairs.
"Hey I'm gonna go hang out with Lexie for a while. I'll be back later." I said stopping in the living room door. "Okay sweetie have fun." My mom said glancing up at me with a warm smile. I turned and left the house and went to my car. I pulled up at Lexie's house and took a deep breath getting out of my car. I walked up to the front door and knocked. Ben answered the door. "H..Hey." I breathed. "Hey." He answered quietly. "Lexie invited me over." I said quickly. He gave a slight nod. "I know." He said. He backed up and opened the door so I could go inside. Lexie was in the kitchen cooking. "Hey." I said walking up behind her causing her to jump. "Oh! Hey! You scared me." I laughed. She grabbed whatever she was cooking and took it off of the stove and put it on a pot holder to cool. " I made supper." She said turning towards me. I gave a nod. "Good. What did you make?" I asked. "Spaghetti." She said. I smiled. "My favorite." She giggled. "I know." She turned and headed into the living room and I followed her.

We sat on the couch and she turned towards me. "So what's new?" She asked. "Nothing much just working and going to School and hanging out with Will and Chelsea." I answered. She smiled. "How is William?" She asked. I grinned. "He's good. Never a dull moment." I said. She nodded. Her phone rang. She sighed. "It's work. I'll try to get off as soon as I can." She said. I shrugged. "It's fine. I'm gonna run to the restroom." I said getting up earning a nod from Lex. I started up the stairs. I quickly went to the bathroom, washed my hands, and gave myself a once over in the mirror before heading back out of the bathroom. I ran into Ben who was coming out of his office. He looked down at me and I gave him a small smile. He took a deep breath. "Can we talk?" He stated more than asked reopening his office door. I nodded and walked in. He followed me in and shut the door. "I tried to stay away. I tried to let you go and let you be happy. I really did, but I can't stay away from you. And I don't think you want me too." He said coming closer to me. Our lips met and sparks went everywhere. Every inch of my body was on fire. He brought his hands up to my hair and he tangled his fingers in it and I wrapped my arms around his neck. He picked me up and I wrapped my legs around his waist. He walked us forward until I could feel him lowering us down onto the couch. "I knew this damn thing would come in handy." He said in between kissing my neck. I moaned in reply. He unbuttoned the button on my pants and then I heard him undo his.

I got up off the couch and put my pants back on and buttoned them up. "I'm going downstairs." I said and turned to head out the door. He reached up and caught my hand in his. He pulled my arm enough to make me turn around and face him. He pulled me down and brought my lips to his. I eventually broke the kiss and straightened back up and left his office and went back downstairs. Lexie was just getting off the phone when I walked in the living room. "You okay?" She asked when I sat down on the couch. I nodded. "Yeah I'm fine. Ben wanted to show me something he was doing at his office, he was working on it in the office up there." I said. She gave a slight nod. "You ready to eat?" She asked. I nodded getting up. "I'm starving." She smirked. She got up and went to the bottom of the stairs.
"Ben are you going to eat?!" She hollered. "Yeah I'm coming down in a second!" He hollered back. She turned and started towards the kitchen. "We don't have to wait for him." She said. I followed her into the kitchen and helped her get out the plates and silverware and cups and pour the drinks. A few minutes later Ben joined us in the kitchen. We started eating. "This is good Lex!" I said looking up at her and grinned. "Thanks Jay." She said smiling. "It is great Babe." Ben said without looking up. "Thank you babe." She said before looking back down at her plate. We ate dinner mostly in silence with occasional conversation but not much. After dinner I helped Lexie load the dishwasher and Ben went into the living room and turned on the tv. Once we were done in he kitchen we decided to go sit out on the back porch. We sat out there and watched the beautiful sunset. "What's going on Lex?" I asked quietly. She shrugged. "I don't know...we've been trying you know, and I had a miscarriage. It's just been really hard lately." She answered just as quietly. I felt like a completely terrible person. "Oh Lexie I didn't know. I'm sorry." I said feeling all of my emotions hit me at once. I wrapped my arms around her. "We're gonna get through it though. I just feel it." She said. "Y'all better." I said.

Across the Realms [Dropped]
Disclaimer: I'll leave this on here for anyone to read. The last time I uploaded a chapter was nearly a year ago, and to all the readers who still kept their trust in me after I came back from my umpteenth hiatus, I am sorry. I will not carry on writing this; I started off without the correct foundations of a novel, nor commitment to fully finish it and I do not want to lie to you all once again. Maybe one day, I may decide to re-write the novel, with a new basis or at least a comprehensive starting point with many of the narrative errors cleared up; but, till then, this is goodbye. And, once again, thank you for the motivation you gave me. Even now, I see many emails come through with people commenting. Goodbye. A child blessed by the Astral. An unprecedented destiny. Watch his path, as he marches up the stairway of Heaven. A March of a Sovereign. [Adventure, Wuxia, Martial Arts, Fantasy] This is a Qihuan novel; it has eastern and western fantasy elements. More often than not in Xianxia or Xuanhuan there is a severe lack of character development, being a western writer I'm changing that. My characters, from my totally unbiased view, feel fleshed out and actually have emotions. This is my first attempt at a novel, I'm writing as a means to better convey my thoughts. I will, hopefully, steadily improve chapter-by-chapter. I'm very open to feedback and constructive criticism. As one can see this is a cultivation novel, so you know how this goes. I've decided to jump-start the whole rags-to-riches scenario. He is strong from the start and is given the utility to do so. *The cover art is not my own, all rights reserved to the owner. I will take it down if necessary. *The style of the recent chapters is comparatively different than Chapter 1.

Jalan Suram : The 100 Fire Holders
"Why us?" Still staring at the unusually stationary fire of the candle he was holding, Agung voiced the questions in our mind. "Out of 2 million people living in this city, why are we the chosen ones?" As if on cue, the eerie laughter of children could be heard above us. Holding our own candle tightly, we resolved to ignore them and continued our discussion. It was a matter of life or death after all. More than half of the initial participants had fallen and the building became more crowded as the result. There were now more ghosts than the living and each step was filled with danger from the unknown. Either we solved all the questions now or we would become another addition to the ghost camp. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- There was one thing Novita found out after she accepted an invitation to a suspicious event from a seemingly legal company. Crowded didn't exactly mean safe. As more and more variables were added to the dangerous ritual, the higher the risk of death. At the same time, the higher the risk was, the better the rewards for it. But in the end, was it worth it? Note : This series was posted on scribblehub.com under the same name. In Pursuit of Bark's Finest
On the frontiers of transhumanity’s expansion into the galaxy thousands of light years from the light of Sol, things can get rather chaotic. There are countless millions of nascent interstellar nations securing their interests, pirate ships prospering off plunder and deniable mercenary work, dissidents setting up their own civilizations, and other groups all trying to push an agenda. When these groups crash into each other, the results can become extremely messy and convoluted. Recently, a frontier nation calling itself the Red Star Union has found itself at the focal point of one such complication. A freighter under their protection has been sabotaged, hijacked in interstellar space, and robbed of its cargo. This would be bad enough even if all it were carrying was luxury goods, but the freighter Nebula Plow was carrying more than just normal trade goods. Indeed, her cargo of Non-Orientable Wormholes for use in starship power plants was both very expensive and very, very dangerous. Now the Red Star Union has to worry about a pirate crew running around with several extra devices capable of converting matter into antimatter with negligible energy cost. With those, the pirates could be capable of inflicting untold damage if allowed to leverage their ill-gotten gains into a stronger position, a possibility the Union finds completely intolerable. Unfortunately, all that the Red Star Union has to go on for evidence is two names; that of the captain, and that of the ship. The Captain is going by the possible pseudonym of Fuller, while the ship is named Bark’s Finest. And thus the orders came down to the Union’s Bureau of Starforce Intelligence: find more information on these pirates, conclusively identify them, and figure out where exactly they’ve gone to ground so that the fleet can crush them before they get established. Of the many agents that the bureau assigned to this mission, one would happen to play an important role: Field Agent Madeline Zargosty. This is her story. This story is entirely pre-written, and will have one chapter released per week. If you want to read it all ahead of schedule and get access to some premium-exclusive bonus content, the entire book is available for purchase; links to the appropriate storefront pages will be posted at the end of each chapter.
