《The Kings Mate》Chapter 4

As soon as Malia gets into her house I speed away.
I go down the roads leading to the pack house. I park out side the woods that surround the house and jump out of my car.
I run in to the wood and run a hand through my hair. I yell I frustration. My claws grow sharp and my fangs grow to a point. My eyes change to their glowing blue and fur sprouts out of my cheeks.
Fur sprouts from my body, my bones moving to form my wolf. Soon I'm breathing hard and on my paws. I start to growl then it radiates into a howl. The howl that means a wolf longs for his mate. Who is just out of reach.
I've known her for a few hours but I already know that I love her.
I bark and jump onto trees ripping the bark from the wood.
I stop in my tracks. I hear foot steps. A lot of them. All coming towards my. I arch my back and growl. I look around. The woods becoming a dark shade of red.
I start to charge whatever is coming towards me. I pounce on the person.
"MASON! IT'S ME! IT'S ME!" My little brother, Ethan, yells.
I carefully step off him. I take my paw and swipe at my ear. I shake my head and walk in in circle.
I look at everyone. Parker, Payton, Cameron, Issac, Avery, and Ethan stand I front of me. Their chest heave up and down from running almost a mile from the pack house.
"Mason," Avery says in a hushed tone kneeling next to me,"Can you shift back."
I whimper under my breath and walk behind a tree. I let out a breath and close my eyes.
When I open them I'm back to my normal self I look over my self and notice I'm wearing shorts. I let out a sigh. Thank you mom. (a/n being the alpha of America when every she shift from wolf back to human clothes appear on her body. Mason got like a drop of the gene so like a shirt or a pair of pants or like one sock will appear on his body when he shifts. I know it's weird, just go with it.)

I walk out from behind the tree and see everyone sitting on the grass.
They all stand up as soon as they see me.
"Mason what's going on?" Issac asks.
"Malia." I say and roll my neck.
"What's she got to do with this." Isaac asks.
I lean against a tree and slid down till I'm sitting,"She's my mate."
I put my head in my brands and try to steady my breathing.
"Well are you alright? We heard your howl and the barks, and the growls?" Cameron says
"No I'm not all right! My mate is a human. She doesn't know werewolves are real! so she doesn't know the and bond is real!" I shout standing straight up and I start to pace back and forth.
"Well she's going to find out one way or another. She's your mate. Just because she doesn't know what a mate bond is doesn't mean she doesn't feel any affection towards you." Avery says putting a hand on my shoulder.
"Yeah I guess." I mumble.
"But hey, mom should be home soon. So why don't we go home and make her some dinner." She says and I nod.
All my friends smile and we all walk out of the woods. I'll retrieve my car later.
***
"Welcome back mom." I tell my mom as she drops her bag on the floor. I open my arms and she falls into them.
"I'm tired." she whines.
"I know, I know. So did you even get there before they said false alarm." I ask and she pulls away from the hug.
"Yeah, and let me tell you their pack house was a piece of shit. It was a mess. People were basically just throwing their garbage on the floor. The bathrooms were even more atrocious.'' She tells me explaining the worst of the house.
"Oh that sounds terrible." I laugh and she smiles. I love to make her smile.
"Yeah it was, any way speaking of bathrooms i have to go.'' She tells me and walks in the direction of the ladies room. My mom, you gotta love her.

I turn around and see all my friends gone. Were did they go now? I walk down the halls people nodding their head towards me as the next Alpha of the pack. And believe me it may seem all fun getting to order people around with force, but it's not. It just makes me feel like a horrible person. It gives me the shivers just thinking about it.
Finally I find them in lounge all laughing about something Issac said. Let me explain my friends a bit more than I did previously. Issac is the funniest guy you could possibly meet, he pulls the best pranks, and speaks in frequent sarcasm. He's the best friend you could have. Lets not forget he can come back with great come backs in an instant. Cameron is like the social butterfly of the group and the fangirl. She speaks in frequent movie quotes and book quotes. She has been to 20 concerts and 12 of those 20 have been back stage access and she has met almost all of her favorite band members. Shes fun to have around if you have a movie or book question. Just don't say anything bad about a fictional character, like ever. Payton only joined our group of friends right before Summer started last year. She and Parker found each other on their 17 birthday. So yes they do share a birthday, May 19th to be exact. Lets not forget she is basically the mom of the group. We just naturally go to her for advice. Last but not least is Parker. Parker has been my best friend since we were in diapers. So he is my beta, and i'll be in charge for the 4 years I'm king. If I'm king that is. He also plays baseball with me. and is a damn good fighter. nothing can tare him down.
I plop myself in the seat next to Cameron,"Whats going on my dearest friends?" I ask
"We were just talking about random stuff." Payton says smiling.
"Like what?" I lean forward in my seat.
"Well I asked what we were gonna do after high school. If we were going to collage or going to stay here." Parker says and Issac buts in.
"I said I was going to turn into a penguin move to Mars and live with the aliens."
"And then you walked in." Cameron finishes.
"Ahh." I say nodding.
"So Mase, what was that all about in the frozen yogurt place. You just stirred your melted fro-yo and looked into space." Issac asks and Payton says a yeah, Wow I though Parker would have told her.
"Malia... is my... my mate." I put my hands on my knees and look straight ahead. I look at the people who didn't know and their mouths are wide open in surprise.
"But she's a human," Payton says her voice rising a bit.
"Yeah I know." I fun a hand through my hair.
"That's almost unheard of." Issac says.
"Yeah I know." I repeat. I stand up and start to pace in front of everyone.
"What am I gonna do? Can you have a human for a mate and be king. And if I can't I'm not gonna leave her. I'm not gonna reject her. My moms mate did that to her and she said she felt like she got run over by a truck. I couldn't do that to a person." I run my hands over my face.
"Well you could tell her." Payton says reaching her hand out.
"Not now, she just moved here. I barely know her, I couldn't make her think I'm crazy."
"Well then warm up to her. The Washington D.C. trip is next month. We can all sit together leaving you and Malia. So let's hope she doesn't make any more friends." Cameron suggest.
"Yeah that might work." I agree.
"But I know that as soon as I looked at Payton I was in love," Parker pauses,"Do you love her?"
"Yeah... Yeah I do"
