Mason POV
By the time we get done with the mini golf it's like 8-o-clock. We return our clubs to the stand thing and head to my car.
"So did you have fun?" I ask and wrap my arm around her shoulders.
"Oh I had boat loads thank you." She smiles.
"Well I don't ever plan on having a boring date so I thank you." I tell her and she laughs.
"What's so funny?" I ask chuckling to myself.
"That didn't make any sense." She tells me her laughter starting to die down. It wasn't that funny.
"Okay, so where do you want to go to dinner?" I ask and we both get into the car.
"I don't know, I got to pick where we went so how about you pick the dinner destination." She shrugs smiling.
"Alright." I tell her and start the car and pull out of the parking lot.
I take a few turns before going up a hill to Cracker Barrel. A nice country style restaurant with amazing food. It's even got a little store.
I park the car and rush out of the car using my werewolf speed to get to her door. I pull it open and hold my hand out to help Malia down. She takes and and I help her to the ground.
"Thank you good sir." She says smiling.
"No problem my fine lady." I bow and she laughs some more.
"Okay so Cracker Barrel. I've been here before I think." She nods her head.
"Great so are okay with this its not bad." I say and open the door and she thanks me.
"Oh no I really like this place. I have cousins who live in West Virginia and they live right by one of these." She says smiling.
I tell the hostess 2 and she smiles and grand 2 menus.
"Follow me." She guides us to the back in the corner right next to a nice window. It's a beautiful of the night sky.
"So Malia, What do your parents do for a living?" I ask her already knowing what I want for dinner.
"Well my dad is a Firefighter, and my mom just got a job at the hospital as a person who rides in the ambulance helping the patient I can't remember what it's called though." she says looking for what her moms called.
"An EMT?" I ask and she nods her head.
"Yes an EMT! thank you!" she says smiling,"Do what do your parents do?"
"Well my dad is like a manager of a corporation that I don't know the name of, and my mom is a... a... uh," How am I suppose to tell her that she trains were wolfs to fight against people who want my kind dead. Oh I know,"My mom goes around the country training people for battle." Not at all a lie.

"Oh that's nice. So when's your birthday?" She asks and picks up her menu then puts it down.
"My birthday is February 14th, what about yours?" I smile
"May 12th." She answers.
"Okay what do you think the hardest thing or worst that has ever happened to is?" I ask. Yeah I know it's a weird question I just ran out of things to say.
"Well... when I was around 5 I fell out of a tree and landed on my arm. I fell so hard it broke my whole arm and shoulder. Which I don't quiet understand how that works but whatever. I was in a cast for 10 months." She says nosing her head and she has a faint smile. "What was your hardest or worst moment."
But before I can answer our waitress comes over with a note pad,"What can I get you two?"
"Um I'll get a chicken and dumplings with steak fries and mashed potatoes. I'll also have a water with that." I tell her. and Malia turns to say her order.
"I'll have the same thing but instead of mashed potatoes I'll have Mac and cheese." She says and we hand the lady our menu's
"Okay so 2 chicken and Dumplings with steak fries and one order of mashed potatoes and one order of Mac and Cheese." She confirms and we both nod.
"Okay I'll be right back with your drinks." She smiles and walks away.
"I guess we both have childish food preferences." I say and we both laugh.
"Okay tell me your hardest or worst moment since I told you mine." She smiles a little laughter in her voice.
"Okay so I was really young and I don't remember any of this but my mom told me. Okay so I was a premature baby. I think it was like 2 months early. I was very very sick. I only weighed 3 pounds or something. I almost didn't make it. My mom said I put her through hell when I was a baby." I say laughing trying to lighten the mood.
"Either that or when my mom when away for a month and didn't get out of the area fast enough and got shot in the side." I say laughing nervously. Malia looks at me with sympathy and puts her hand over mine.
"I'm so sorry that happened to you." She says. I look at her in the eyes, she had tears in them. I mentally thank her. The lady sets down our drinks then walks away.
It's quiet for a moment. It's not awkward but just comfortable.

"So does the school do any type of dances other than Prom?" She asks stirring her straw around her water.
"Oh yeah. Theirs homecoming, the Winter Formal, and then Prom. Then we also have these senior trips. Every senior goes free, we go to Gettysburg, the chorus group goes to Disney World, and then all sports teams go to different places and every person is aloud to be accompanied by one guest." I explain to her and she nods her head.
"Okay sounds like a fun school." She says and smiles.
"Oh and I was meaning to ask you. Would you like to go to Homecoming with me?" I ask and smile at her.
"I would love to go to the dance with you." She says smiling. The waitress comes with a tray and puts the food I front of us.
"Tell me if you guys need anything." She says and we nod before she walks away.
"Are you sure, cause I feel like I'm just pouring so much onto your shoulders. I mean you only just got here." I laugh nervously. I cut a piece of my dumpling and plop it in my mouth.
"Oh no. I'm gonna tell you the truth. I really like you. I know I did the first time I saw you. I just didn't understand why. I mean when I hear your name I just get butterfly's. I look at other guys and feel nothing. But with you, everything's different. I don't know why I'm telling you all this." She says and plops a fry in her mouth. She likes me. She really likes me!
"This so good to hear. I feel the same way about you. I've never felt this was about anyone." I tell her. Well the only thing different is I k ow she's my mate and instead of Luke it's more like love. But you know, It's progress.
We finish our meals in silence but once again it's comfortable. Everyone in a while we'll look at each other and just smile to our selfs like idiots.
When the check comes we both go to grab it but I'm faster and I grab it. $23.56. Bit bad not bad at all.
"You ready to go?" I ask and she nods her head. We both get up and walk to the store room to pay.
I wait in line with her next to me looking around butting her lip.
"Do you wanna get something?" I ask chuckling and she nods her head."Go." I tell her and she runs off to find something. Finally it's my turn to pay.
"Okay is that all?" The woman behind the cash register asks.
"Uh I have a date and she's getting something she should be a second." I tell her and she nods her head okay. I look behind me and let out a sigh of relief because no one is behind me.
Finally she comes running back with a box and sets it on the counter. I hand the cashier the money to pay for the box and we leave.
"So do want to get ice cream or..." I ask her stretching out the or.
"No, I've spent to much of your money. And it's getting pretty late too." She says and we get in the car.
I pull out of the parking lot and get into the lane that leads to her part of town.
"So did you have fun?" I ask her and turn to the left.
"Yeah, thank you so much. I'm so excited for home coming?" She smiles and balls up her hands and puts them in her lap. She turns to me and balances herself by resting her arm on the chair of the car.
"You know I think Payton and Cameron are going to get their dresses this week, you could probably go with them." I tell her and pull into her neighborhood.
"I don't know, do they even like me that much?" She asks.
"Oh they love you. They never shut up about finally having another girl to talk with." I laugh and pull down her street.
"Okay can you ask them for me? I'll be a little busy this next weekend." she asks still smiling ear to ear. I stop in front of her house.
"Yeah, and do you need me to walk you to your door?" I ask going to unbuckle my seat belt.
"No, no, I think I can walk by myself." She laughs.
"Are you sure." I scratch the back of my neck.
"Yeah I'm sure. Bye Mason." She laughs and gets out of the car.
"By Malia!" I yell before she can shut the door. I wait to make sure she gets in her house witch she does.
I pull away from her house smiling to myself an idiot.
Thank you moon goddess for an amazing, and beautiful mate.
