《The Kings Mate》Chapter 25

Malia POV 3 days later.
When I woke I was freezing. I looked out the window and Michael is sitting in a chair passed out. I smile because it reminds me of when Mason was passed out inn the chair out side the heat chambers.
I found out that this pack is for people from out of the country. Like everyone is excepted here.
Michaels birthday was yesterday so he came in with his winter coat and we had a cake. It was like vanilla with red velvet swirled into it. It was delicious.
"Michael!" I yell and pound on the glass. He jolts awake and looks at me.
"What?" He asks standing up and running to the door.
"My beats over I can go home." I cheer and jump up. He smiles back and opens the door. But the look in his eyes was sadness.
"That's great!" He says and I jump in his arms and hug him. He hugs me back and spins me around.
"Hey! My mates sisters birthday party is today, she's turning 16. You should come." I smile at him.
"Okay, I'd love to." He smiles and nods his head.
"Okay let's go." I say and grab his hand and pull him outside.
We begin to walk through the woods.
"So what does she look like?" He asks and puts his hand through his pocket as we walk by the cave that almost killed me 3 days ago.
"Well, She has blonde-ish hair. Green eyes. Um... very small. like 5'2 or 5'3. she has great cheek bones. I don't know what else to say about her." I tell her. We cross into the pack territory and I can hear growls.
"What was that." Michael stops and looks around.
"That would be the pack guards." I say and huff.
"Why would-" Michael doesn't finish because a light brown wolf jumps on top of him and starts to snarl and growl in his face.
"NO! GET OFF OF HIM!" I yell and push the wolf away.
The wolf looks at me all angry then looks confused. It runs behind a tree and comes back in human form with clothes on.
"Malia?" He asks.
"Um, is Mason anywhere?" I ask and rub my arms slightly as a cold wind blows through.

"Yeah he's in his office." He says.
"Okay thanks." I smile and grab Michaels hand and pull him into the clearing. All kinds of tents are being set up and balloons with the number 16 on them float in the air. I take Michael upstairs and I stand right behind the office door.
"Okay." I whisper, "Mason is a little protective. He also has a broken leg." I inform Michael and he nods hi head. I slightly knock on his door. He yells a come in and I push the door wide open.
"What can I help you with." He says not looking up from a map on his desk. The map has all kinds of red pins of pack houses around the area. All except Michaels.
"Mason." I state. His eyes widen and he looks up.
"Oh my god Malia!" He yells and runs around his desk and picks me up and hugs me. He sets me down and kisses me.
"Do you know how worried I was? I was looking forever. I had to come back because of Avery's party." He says a little angry. I look down and notice he doesn't have a cast.
"What happened to you cast?" I ask and he roles his eyes. He can tell I was dodging the question.
"I'm a werewolf. It takes like 3 days to heal a broken leg." He smiles. He looks behind me and stands straight up.
"Who is this?" He asks not very happy. I step around him and stand in front of Michael.
"This is Michael. He took me to his pack house and I stayed in their heat chambers. Okay. He's a friend." I tell him in a calm tone. He relaxes. He sticks his hand out.
"I'm Mason, good to meet you." He says and they shake hands.
"I'm going to take him to the lounge area where he can mingle with the other kids at the pre party, then I'll be right back." I tell him and step out of the double office doors. He nods his head and says alright. I take him down the stairs to the main floor.
"Your pack house is huge." He says looking around in awe.

"Well it holds almost 1,000 people. So it kinda has to be." I shrug and we walk into the lounge. Pop music plays over every one talking and laughing. I look in the courner and small figure foods sit on a table.
"Well these are the people your age. Even though you're my age, I'm still older. So go have fun." I smile and look at him. He is staring at some one. I wav my hand n his face. He blinks a few ties and then looks at me.
"Are you aright?"
"Yeah, yeah I'm fine. But um..." He swallows, "Who Is that" I look where he is pointing. Avery stands across the room in a dress talking to one of her friends.
"That's Avery. It's her birthday party." I laugh. Some ones got the hots for my mates sister.
"I'm gonna go talk to her." He says keeping his eyes on her. He pats my shoulder and then walks over curiously. Avery Looks over at him and drop the cup she was holding. They start talking. Then what surprises me most is when he lays a kiss on her. She kisses back. Oh my. Is she? Are they? They have to be. I stare wide eyed. I turn around and run out into the hallways and into the stairwell. I pound upstairs and burst into Masons office.
''AVERY AND MICHAEL ARE MATES!" I yell. He stands up immediately.
"What!" He says his eyes becoming darker.
"Yeah I brought him into the lounge and he started staring at he. Then he went to talk to her and then he kissed her and she kissed back." I explain and he stairs at me with his mouth a gape.
'So you're telling me, that my little, baby, sister. Has found her mate."
"Yes."
"Wow that's I thought you said yes." he laughs and runs a hand through his hair and turns around and walks back to his chair.
"I did." I confirm. He continues to laugh. He points a finger at me.
"You're funny. You should be a comedian." He says and shakes his head and goes back to his paper work.
"Mason. Come on I'm telling the truth." I laugh and walk towards him.
"Okay if you're telling the truth mark me." He laughs and swivels his chair to face me.
"What?"
"You heard me. If you're telling the truth mark me, if you're lying don't." He shrugs. I straddle him and put his face in my hands and kiss him. I take a breath and let my fangs grow to a point.
"You really want me to do this?" I ask and fell my eyes glow the icy blue they are when I shift.
"I've wanted this since the day I met you." He says. I lean over and softly nibble on the skin in the crook of his neck before full on biting down. He moans and rolls his head around. I stop and pick my head up. I wipe my mouth and look him straight in the eye.
"You ready?" he asks and I nod my head. He starts to make a trail of soft kisses down my neck until he makes it to the crook. He softly nibbles just like I did. I let out a small moan before he bites down. It hurts for a moment but then becomes pleasure. Let out a quiet moan and he releases his teeth. He looks me in the eye.
"You know what we have to do next right." He says quietly and I nod my head.
"Are you sure you're ready?" He asks like a gentlemen.
"Yeah. I'm ready."

OOOOOkay
That's enough of that. I hope you are all old enough to understand what comes next. Because I refuse to write that chapter. It makes me feel to weird.
But any way after this chapter I think I'm going to skip a head a month or two. Because as of now this story hasn't gone in any of the directions I wanted it to. I want their to be more about Mason becoming King.
But I have come up with a ship name for Mason and Malia... Masalia! What do you think? yeah I know it's terrible but I stink at coming up with ship names.
But to end it how about a

Sword System Academia
2/17 NOTICE: I'm putting this on hiatus, possibly permanently. I didn't want to spam with an "update chapter", so hopefully here and in the story blurb will get enough eyeballs. There are a couple reasons for ending SSA for now. 1) I wrote the next chapter but wasn't happy with it. I've been less and less satisfied with SSA's quality the more I thought about it. Part of the reason is... 2) I am seriously thinking about trying to publish some novels to help pay the bills, since I don't have my other source of income anymore. I have never asked for anything from SSA readers, no money, not even a review or rating. SSA is written for fun to amuse myself, primarily, and I would kind of feel bad actually charging someone money for something as unserious as that. I don't think it is good enough to ask anything in return. To use an analogy from music, SSA is more like a jam session with a bunch of friends. You're just chiling and having fun playing some music. I mean, if you are Mozart or even Eminem, your jam session is good enough to sell, but for an amateur beginner like myself, haha, no. If I want to publish something, I feel like I need to go the proper route of practice and rehearsals, which might be more similar to a classical concert performance. With SSA, I work from worldbuilding notes and a loose outline, but what you are essentially getting is the first draft with lots of so-called pantsing. Pushing out a web novel like this also means it is very difficult to go back and improve things without breaking everything else downstream. I wanted to try this "jamming" approach, as it was a good way to teach me about another aspect of writing, but to move forward, I think I need to hone my "classical" techniques, which emphasize rewriting, or at least, revising outlines. 3) While I intend to try to make $$$, my actual current goal is to "get gud". I've spent a lot of time recently trying to understand the self-publishing industry, and I'm pretty sure I can make some money by using short-term strategies with my current amateur skill level. But I've seen too many authors come and go/burnout, and really, the only way that I think I can enjoy writing and still make money on a long-term basis is to become a better writer. And the next step for me, which I haven't done much before, is to spend more time on rewriting and outlines. That is pretty much antithetical to the way SSA is developing. I've always been kind of 20/80 plotting/pantsing, but I want to spend a lot more time outlining before I even start writing. SSA jam sessions don't really fit my goal anymore. If you're curious about what's next, read on... Among other regrets, I regret not finishing SSA. It's the first story I've dropped, but then again, it's the first web novel I've attempted, so I suppose that's not a surprise. I don't think traditional web novel formats suit me that well. The whole SSA story I had loosely planned (beyond a first book or major arc) is way too large as well. Big story = good for neverending webnovel with Patreons, bad for penniless and fickle writer like me. I am currently outlining a complete trilogy to another story in great detail. I want the story to end concisely, and I also want the chance to really spend a lot of time on the full outline to spot pacing problems, character issues, lost themes, and so on. I'll still share this story on RR. What I intend to do is finish book 1, flash-publish the whole thing here for a few weeks, then publish on the big Zon. Repeat for books 2 and 3. The upcoming story will be about crafting heroes. The backdrop is an isekai-like setting, where elves will summon humans to their world as heroes, but the whole hero crafting business is still in its infancy. The elven mage researchers are figuring out how to imbue heroes with power, while the heroes are trying to figure out how to use the powers that they gain. Humans are the best hero templates because they are blank and have no intrinsic magic. Or at least that what the elves thought. The human MC has his own secrets... There will be some similarities with litrpgs, but I would call it more a progression fantasy or gamelit story. For example, the stats are very low, at least initially. Say we have a stat called Str. Going from Str = 1 to Str = 2 is a huge deal. Also, going from Dex = 0 to Dex = 1 is an even bigger deal. I guess you could call it a "low-stat litrpg", haha. Also, the heroes won't be gaining stats simply by killing things or leveling up. You can't increase stats arbitrarily, either. There will be rules to how stats can increase, and how they work with each other. The elven mages will be figuring out these rules in order to craft stronger and stronger heroes. Some inspiration will be from cultivation magic systems, but there won't be overt cultivation, at least for now. A theme I really want to explore is the idea of interactions. That includes things like hero crafter vs hero, tactics vs strategy, skill synergies, racial interactions (dwarves, elves, etc), and son. Yeah, so hero crafting. I'm super excited about this project and venturing into publishing. If you want to check out the upcoming story, you can follow my RR author profile to see when it drops here. Finally... THANK YOU TO EVERYONE! I'm very sorry that SSA is stopping, but I hope at least some of you will find the next story at least as enjoyable, if not more. Thanks to all the readers who gave SSA a shot. Big hug or solid fistbump to all of you, whichever you prefer! I hope this message is not a downer but an upper, because I am psyched!! -purlcray -------------- BLURB: Talen, youngest Master of the Koroi, makes his way to the Empire's capital to salvage his clan's fate. But the bustling city has few opportunities for the traditionalist. For the old sword clans are fading. With the rise of alchemy, gold can purchase strength that ordinarily took years of training to cultivate. Sword artists, once rare and accomplished, are quickly growing in number, especially among the wealthy noble class. Even with such alchemy, though, no one has advanced to the rank of Grandmaster in countless years. Talen's true dream is to walk the path of a sword artist to the very end while fulfilling his clan duties. And then the Swordgeists return, fabled founders of all sword arts, gods who had touched the world long ago and vanished. These myths turned into reality warn of a coming threat. Alongside this warning, they issue an invitation to the Sword System Academy, a path to power beyond the mortal realm. But first, they will hold an entrance exam... Story notes:Sword System Academia blends elements of western and asian fantasy such as xianxia and litrpg. I took parts from different genres I enjoyed and twisted them into my own creation. There will be an explicit system, both of the litrpg kind and the hard(ish) magic kind, but it is embedded within an academic structure that will develop over the course of the story. This is my attempt to design a unique type of system, the System Academia.

Just so you aren't confused I wrote this book directly from the movie and it's just what I wanted to happen or thought would happen instead of what really happened. DO NOT come to my comments telling me it's like the movie cause I know that's the whole point. I wanted the movie to go different in some parts so I made a book on it.
