Charles was on the balcony, looking at the beautiful night sky. The stars were twinkling and the moon shined brightly.

His black hair looked even more enchanting in the moonlight and his ocean eyes glowed like jewels.

When he told Angelina about how they met and how they were seperatted, of course she was shocked..

She actually forgot three years of her life!

After a moment of silence, Angelina politely asked him to leave her alone. Charles quietly left. He knew she needed time to comprehend everything he just said.

Looking at the moon, he suddenly remembered that promise again...

There were two young children sitting and admiring the moon on the young girl's room's balcony.

Compared to the big balcony, they looked quite petite.

The two were laughing, telling jokes, and just having some fun. Eventually, they reached to the topic of where the young boy came from.

The young boy with black hair glanced at the bright moon, turned to girl and said, "i-im the prince of the Vancelia Empire! Some say I will be the future Emperor!"

The young girl blinked a few times then started laughing.

"Hahahahahah! Good joke, Charles! You almost had me there!"

Seeing the young girl laugh at him, his face reddened.

"I-im telling the truth! I really am a prince!"

The young stopped laughing and gazed into the young boy's sapphire eyes. Then she realized he was actually serious...

"Wait....your not joking!?" Lilith was shocked out of her mind!

The boy quickly nodded. Seeing her amazed face, the boy felt slightly proud inside...

"Then...what....I....how did you end up in the streets...?"

"I'm not sure about that either... I'm sure I slept in my bedroom....but the next thing I knew it....I was there...."

"Oh....." Seeing that her question was making him sad, she immediately tried to distract the handsome prince.

"So your really the son of an emperor!?"

"Mhmm!" The price nodded.

"Wow! Make sure you don't forget about me when you become a rich royal Emperor!" She jokingly said.

"Of course. Lily, when I become emperor, i'll make you my wife and i will always care and protect you. I promise." The prince held out his pinky.

"Huh? Hahaha yeah okay! I'm looking forward to see you be an Emperor!" She thought he was joking and mindlessly intertwined their pinkies.

Seeing the beautiful young girl agreeing, the prince's face turned red as a rose on a sunny day. Then the young prince lowered his head to hide his big smile.

"But Charles, you know I have a fiancee. I can't marry you."

"...." Her words immediately broke his smile.

"Then....if you didn't have a fiancee...will you be able to marry me?" The boy asked. His expression was ashen and his eyes turned slightly murderous.

But the young girl didn't notice any of this and mindlessly said, "hmm..maybe. I guess if I'm not engaged I'm obligated to marry someone else..."

Hearing her words, the boy's smile appeared once more. Didn't he only need to get rid off Chase? Once he becomes Emperor...it will be easy...

Charles sighed once more.

In the end, he didn't keep his promise...

She died in one of the most dishonourable and worst ways possible.

It was only when Lilith died that he realized his feelings for her was not just gratitude.

He remembered he would look out at the moon and remember his promise in the years when they were seperatted.

He took another glance of the night sky before going back inside and going to sleep.

Another uproar was happening in the group of nobles.

The Skyler family and the Casspan family has announced Evelina and Chase's engagement.

Although it was a surprise, it was not too shocking. Everyone agreed that Evelina and Chase were compatible.

However some asked why the Skyler family decided to announce the engagement when their daughter is still missing.

The duke said that in a pityful way that Angelina would've wanted this. He said Angelina and Evelina had a wonderful relationship, and Angelina wanted Evelina to be happy.

Some still disagreed with the duke's decision to announce his daughter's engagement so soon and right after his youngest daughter's disappearance. But all they could do was remain silent because they were not as powerful as the duke.

The next day, Angelina was already able to move and walk around.

A maid led her to the mansion's dining room to eat. Angelina was at first hesitant but decided to comply.

She felt that it would be quite awkward to see Charles right now. Even though she believed in what he told her, she still didn't remember anything. She felt bad.

When she arrived in the dining room, she saw Charles waiting for her. She felt relieved, since he didn't seem to be hurt for her asking him to leave her alone.

"Did you sleep well?" He asked while smiling gently.

"Mhmm" she nodded.

"Eat. I asked the chef to prepare your favorite foods"

Angelina sat down on a seat close to his.

"How do you know my favorite foods?"

Charles smiled and chuckled. "I spent three years with you. Of course I know."

Angelina immediately turned red in embarrassment. She suddenly felt her question was really stupid.

The servant came in, bringing in the delicious food. Looking at the food place on the table in front of her, Angelina felt her heart itch.

These were indeed her favorite foods. She glanced at Charles and smiled.

"Thank you" she thanked him for his consideration.

His smile dimmed and he said, "there's no need to be polite towards me..." He paused, then continued. "You didn't used to be so guarded towards me..."

In the past, Lilith felt really comfortable towards him. She didn't even speak in a noble way. They just spoke like really close friends.

"Huh? Oh I apologise..- I mean...okay.."

"The food is going to get cold if you don't eat them" The emperor smiled.

"Okay okay..." Angelina tried not to speak in the manner she usually does and speak in a more closer way. But it was still a bit strange. After all...he was an Emperor!

Noticing her discomfort, Charles felt his heart sunk again. He sighed and said, "it's alright if you want to remain polite...I don't want you to be uncomfortable and think I'm forcing you in any way..."

Angelina was slightly dumfounded. Then she laughed.

Charles was confused. Did...did he say something funny...?

"Hahaha..no it's okay" Angelina said after she was done laughing. She never met anyone so considerate.

If only Chase was as considerate as Charles before...

She shook her head and expelled the thought of Chase.

After they finished their meal and their small talk, Angelina started to feel more comfortable around Charles.

He wasn't hard to get along too. He also made her quite at ease. No wonder she and him were so close before.

"I should probably go back home now and tell them I'm not dead. Although they will be quite disappointed..." Angelina chuckled.

Charles felt his heart flutter once more. Her smile was still as charming and beautiful even though her appearence changed.

"If you ever need help, you can always come to me."

Angelina stared at him dumbfounded.

"O-of course, only if you need help! I'll not meddle in your business if you do not want me to...I just wanted you to know that you can always ask for my help..." Charles's face reddened.

"....." Angelina blinked a couple times before laughing and saying, "okay"

Charles's handsome smile appeared. Sure she switched bodies. But her behavior and manner was still the same.

He noticed that everytime she was suprised or stunned, she would always blink her eyes a few times.

He found it so cute....
