《The Villainess's Great Revenge》125

Finally, Evelina was able to settle everyone down but there was still a sense of tension in the air.
"I hope lady Angelina is okay..." One said.
"I still can't believe she's Angel. It's simply too hard to believe. But it is quite impressive!"
"It's funny if you think about it. I remember how many people gifted her Angel's painting on the day of her debut, now it all seems like a joke..."
"Hmph. Everyone who has ever spoken badly about lady Angelina must be feeling quite embarrassed..."
"Haha, they all must be drowned with regret right about now. Especially when lady Angelina saved this princess!" Elizabeth laughed out loud.
Lady Sonia rolled her eyes.
Evelina could only watch with a stiff smile as everyone forgot about her existence and instead praise her sister with admiration. She was never going to invite them again! These ungrateful rats! She was willing to invite them no matter how low their family rank is and yet they repay her with this!?
"Lady Margaret? Is something the matter?" One asked lady Margaret who was looking quite uncomfortable.
"It's... It's nothing. My feet just feels quite itchy..." Lady Margaret shook her head but her body was stiff, revealing her discomfort.
"Um... My feet feels itchy as well..." lady Sonia said. She couldn't take it much longer and bent down to check the source of her irritation.
"Ah!" She jumped back in shock, causing her and the chair she was sitting on to fall. There was two big cockroaches on her leg...
Lady Margaret slowly looked down and lifted the skirt of her dress slightly. There she saw a long centipede crawling up her leg. She wanted to kick it but instead she froze. What if it bit her? Aren't they venomous!?
Evelina's face sank. She slowly stood up and witnessed the horrifying scene of baby cockroaches sticking to her dress.
"Is that..." Evelina trembled.
"Ahhh!" All the other young nobles found themselves in similar situations. The insects were either crawling up their leg or their clothes. They all began running around and stomping their feet on the ground, in an attempt to get the bugs off themselves.
"Hahahaha!" Instead of being disgusted, Elizabeth laughed. The looks on their faces were simply too hilarious! Perhaps it wasn't a waste to come here...
If it weren't for the fact that she grew up with the second prince who found joy in playing with bugs, Elizabeth might've been screaming just like all the others. But she was used to it now.
Alice merely looked at them and left quietly to check on Angelina.

But there was one person that all the bugs avoided. Harper. Many hideous insects were crawling around, but they all seemed to be avoiding her. Even if they were not touching her, Harper was still frightened and she quickly left the garden.
They were all screaming and one had even fainted. Of course such a ruckus would pull in some attention. Many servants rushed to the scene. They were both shocked and confused. Why is there so many bugs!? The garden was cleaned and kept very carefully.
Evelina tried to get the baby cockroaches to get off of her but it was too difficult. They stuck to her like dear life. Evelina eventually tripped and fell which only caused her to panic even more.
So many disgusting bugs around her, she really felt like she was about to faint from fright...
At this point, all of the ladies had already fled and Evelina was left alone. Even lady Sonia, who was almost like Evelina's loyal dog, had abandoned her.
Evelina clenched her teeth as the servants carefully took all the baby cockroaches off her. If it weren't for trying to keep the image of a fragile girl, she would've already slammed her fist on the ground and screamed.
*************
"Lina?" Alice hesitantly entered Angelina's room. She could see Angelina laying on the bed and Marie by her side.
"Come in, Allie." Angelina, who was laying on the bed, said.
Alice slowly walked towards her. She noticed that both Angelina's lips and throat were red. Her eyes narrowed.
"Lina is it painful? That cruel Evelina! How dare she scheme against you!" Alice kneeled beside the bed and vented her frustrations.
"It's alright Alice... I'm already feeling much better." Angelina laughed softly, voice quite hoarse.
"How could she be so cruel hearted? I can't believe I actually used to respect her... I thought she was kind but she's actually a murderous monster!" Alice began to sob, "I'll help you, Lina! I know I'm not the smartest, and definetly not the strongest, but I'll do everything I can to make sure she gets her punishment! She must not live well!"
"Alice..." Angelina felt a sting in her heart.
"I have to make her suffer! If not, how could I face my brother in the afterlife?" Alice clenched the sheets of the bed. After her words, she felt a soft and warm palm cover her hand that was holding the sheet tightly.
"Don't worry Allie. I promise you that we will avenge your brother." Angelina reassured.

Later that day, Evelina returned to the tea party spot and ordered Lia to lift the long tablecloth to see what's underneath. She was sure this was Angelina's scheme.

But there's nothing.
"Um... There is nothing underneath the table, m'lady." Lia informed hesitantly.
"What!? Impossible! It must be her! How could those bugs come out of nowhere!?" Evelina's frown deepened as she strode to Lia's side to see for herself. But there was really nothing...
"What... Where is it!?" Evelina shouted.
**************
"Good work Serina!" Marie met Serina outside Angelina's room and gave Serina two thumbs up while she spoke quietly.
"En." Serina nodded with a box in her arms.
"So this is what miss was planning... I thought..." Marie smiled awkwardly and suddenly felt ashamed. Perhaps she shouldn't jump into conclusions so much...
"Your guesses are always strange, sister Marie. That is why I am afraid of your mind." Serina sighed.
"Ahaha... Haha..." Marie scratched her head as she forced herself to laugh.
**************
Strangely, the few days after were quite peaceful. Evelina laid low and except for a few big news, nothing much happened.
Cecilia, after being publicly humiliated, fled back to her kingdom and also took the second concubine with her. She didn't dare show her face in the empire anymore.
The divorce between Arianna's father and stepmother was finally official. The now previous marchioness Chandler was kicked out of the Chandler estate and was returned to her family. This certainly caused speculations to rise up on why the divorce happend, which caused marquess Chandler to come out and explain.
He stated, "That woman was a bad influence on my children. Not only that, she abused her power in my Chandler family's estate. I can no longer tolerate her actions which is why I made the decision to divorce her."
Shortly after that, the day of Rienne's birthday arrived. And Evelina didn't plan on laying low any longer. The day before Rienne's birthday, Evelina announced something that caused quite the shock in the aristocrat's hearts.
She announced that she will push her birthday celebration a day earlier and celebrate it on the day before her actual birthday, with the reason of wanting to celebrate with her family alone on her real birthday. And the day before Evelina's birthday was Rienne's birthday...
Naturally, this news reached Rienne's ears and she, of course, was terribly upset. Rienne even went to confront Evelina when Evelina was shopping.
"Evelina, you little b*tch! You planned this, didn't you!? This was a deliberate scheme right!?" Rienne screamed.
"Planned what?" Evelina asked timidly.
"That you're going to throw your birthday party on my birthday!" Rienne went up to Evelina and grabbed her by the collar.
"I... I didn't know it would be your birthday. I'm so sorry! This is simply a misunderstanding!" Evelina pushed out the tears and performed her pity-attracting act once again. Rienne's impulsive and rude nature only made things better for Evelina.
The onlookers could easily pick who the victim is by Rienne and Evelina's difference in attitude. People always tend to sympathize with the weaker ones.
"You!" Rienne was about to explode from rage but she couldn't stay any longer because...
"Get away from her, you bully!" The onlookers began to defend Evelina.
"Can't you see she's crying!?"
"She said she's sorry, so why are you still screaming at her!?"
"I... Ugh!" Rienne turned away and left with her servants before the tears forming in her eyes could fall.
This matter spread throughout the capital very quickly. Many have already started mocking Rienne's barbaric action and fiery temper. Excluding a few people, they all sided with Evelina. After all, she was much more liked by the nobles and the commoners.
***************
"Looks like another problem has appeared..." Angelina sighed and rubbed her forehead while Marie massaged her back.
"The eldest miss is quite clever..." Marie frowned.
"For the birthday tomorrow, which party do you think I should attend? If I choose Rienne, I'll be seen as an inconsiderate little sister. But if I go with Evelina, that means I'll be giving her what she wanted." Angelina weighed her options but still could not make a decision.
"Umm..." Marie too was puzzled.
"..." Angelina waited for Marie's answer for a moment. But Marie never ended up giving her one thus Angelina went outside to clear her exhausted mind.
While passing the lobby, Angelina heard the Duchess speaking. She sounded terribly desperate.
"Brother, please help me!" The duchess whispered with urgency in her expression, "I don't wanna stay with him. Please! I want a divorce!"
Angelina stopped in her tracks and hid behind a wall to listen.
"Beatrice! I don't want to hear another word of this! Our family is no longer doing as well as before, divorcing the duke would only lead to more problems! I suggest you keep your mouth shut and stay obedient!" The silvered haired man in front of the duchess stated.
Judging by how he looks very much like the duchess and how the duchess referred to him, he should be Angelina's uncle...
"But brother, I beg of you! You're the only one that can help me! Aren't we family...?" The duchess started to tear up. She reached out to hold his hand but he avoided her...

The Pugilist
Vincent Roy Salazar has never been your common folk. He climbed any mountain he found in front of him. From a bright young student to an accomplished professor, his life can be described as a continuous race to the top of his chosen fields. Patriarch of a loving family, proud father of three already grown siblings, Roy realizes that his life is the perfect picture of what the average man strives for, and for that he is truly grateful. But happiness is a difficult-to-reach goal, and as he lies in a pool of his own blood, his fist cracked, a young lady crying while cradling his head, he remembers what really gave sense to his youth. Pure Unadulterated Violence The Pugilist wants to be a different take on isekai shenanigans. What would happen if instead of a moronic idiot, a depressed high schooler, or a wannabe hero the one to get his do-over is a fully grown man that has already seen what life has to offer in full? Someone who conformed himself to society, but has always craved something different? In a journey of self-discovery, academy building, god-slaying, and absolutely no harem we follow someone driven by logic, experience, and a smokey goal: to fuck shit up, have fun while doing so, and maybe resume his career as a professor for those strange, magic-wielding, unstable youths that seems to never get enough of his presence. Guys, a few notes, first of all, this is my first time writing long-form fiction. I have a background in psychology, and my main income comes from writing dreary financial articles on SEO blogs. But after a bad break-up, and finding myself falling asleep only while thinking of deus ex machina for stories on this site (and for APGTE) I decided to try my hand at this web series thingy. I'm confident in my grammar, but that's it. Everything else will be a first time, and as such any constructive criticism is encouraged and gratefully accepted. Now, on the story. Romance will be introduced once my little heart is mended, if you are scared of LGBT you may be turned off by the fact that I plan to have no taboo of any kind in my universe, but I won't ever write detailed sex scenes for any characters so don't worry too much. The litRPG part is very light and will take place later in the novel, but it's a key component nonetheless, for world-building and storyline reasons. I already have everything big planned out, so I won't drop it outta nowhere, and I hope you won't find too many flaws in how things pan out. I plan to make The Pugilist an interactive story, with secondary characters created by my audience and introduced after tweaks and careful planning. The main reason I'm writing this is that I want to build a community for myself in this time of isolation. I discovered that exercising, playing the piano or video games means jack-shit when you are utterly miserable, so I hope to give some value to my readers in exchange for praise, fame, money, and companionship. I give full props to anyone who has read this whole mess of a synopsis: I hope to not disappoint too much, now let's write some more steaming garbage that will be in dire need of editing later on.
