《Home | The Originals》Chapter 24: Goodbye

Everyone was outside as we watch Father Kieran bury Esther into the New Orleans soil. It was raining cats and dogs and I had to put Angel to sleep because I didn't want to bring her outside where she could get sick.
I stood underneath an umbrella with Nik holding it up while Elijah and Hayley stood underneath another umbrella leaving Rebekah to hold her own. "Did you find them? Will he bring her?" Nik asked his sister.
"He'll bring her." Rebekah answered.
Nik then faced Father Kieran as he looked at all of us. "Are you ready to do this?" He asked them.
Nik pulled out a knife and cut his palm with it. "Always and Forever." He said then after he cut his palm he handed the knife to Rebekah. Rebekah cuts her palm soon after and handed the knife to Elijah who also cut his palm. Hayley take the knife after handing the umbrella back to Elijah and cuts her palm as well.
Father Kieran takes the knife from Hayley and throws it in the grave with Esther's coffin. "It is done." Father Kieran said.

We came to we're the harvest was taking place and where Sophie and Sabine have been hiding. We all stood outside in the rain, some of us with umbrellas and some without. I had an umbrella over my head but it did nothing for me so I got rid of it. My hair and clothes were already wet. There's no saving it until I get home.
A fire had started randomly behind Sophie. We watch as Marcel bridal carry Davina towards us as fire was trailing behind them. Davina walked towards the dead girls with their neck sliced and gasped at the sight.
Sophie held the knife over a fire near her, then got up to the pedestal with Davina. "Do you believe in the harvest?" Sophie asked her.

"I believe." Davina said.
Sophie held the knife up to Davina's neck. She hesitated but she sliced the knife across her neck. I kept looking as Rebekah and Hayley looked away from them. Tears fell down my face but they quickly disappear as the rain washes them away.
Marcel catches Davina before she fell and bends her down to the ground. She slowly dies in Marcel's arms and once she was completely gone the rain had finally stopped.
All of Davina's power through her arm and back into the earth.
~~~
Marcel layed Davina with the other three girls. "After the Harvest comes the Reaping. Their sacrifices made and accepted, we call upon our elders to resurrect your chosen ones." Sophie said.
We waited for something to happen but neither of the four girls moved. They just stayed dead. I looked at Nik worriedly.
"We call upon our elders to resurrect your chosen ones." Sophie said again but nothing happened. "Resurrect your chosen ones." She said and you can hear that she was panicking that nothing was happening. "Please. I beg." Sophie pleaded.
The girls stayed dead and Sophie broke down crying. My water works was coming back again and I was suddenly pulled into a chest. I knew it was Nik because no one else was standing as close to me as he was. I hear a whoosh from behind me and I think it was Marcel who had left. Nik pulled us away from everyone and we followed after Marcel.
~~~
We walked into the abattoir to see Marcel pushing tables over and throwing chairs across the place. "That won't bring her back you know." Nik said making Marcel face us.
"This is your fault." Marcel pointed at Nik. "I should have never let you anywhere near her." He rages.

"Marcel—" Nik started to say but was cut off.
"This city was fine before you came. We were fine! Davina was safe! She was in control! If you hadn't gotten her worked up, if you hadn't killed that boy!" Marcel yelled at him.
"She would have died either way!" I yelled at him and he looked at me. He didn't say anything as he stares into my eyes that I know for sure have turned red because of my crying. "Even if Klaus and the rest of the family had never came to New Orleans, Davina would still have died either way. We were already fighting a losing battle."
"My condolences the girl is gone, but don't lose perspective." Nik said and Marcel just glares at him. "We still have our community. The vampires of this town—"
"I don't care about the vampires!" Marcel yelled out cutting Nik off. "She is dead! Do you hear me?!"
Nik speeds to Marcel and grabs him so they can stare at each other eye to eye. He put a hand on the back of Marcel's neck and brought him into a hug. "I'm sorry." Nik apologizes and Marcel just cries into his shoulder. "You may think I know nothing of your grief, but you are wrong." Nik pulls Marcel away so he can look him in the eye. "In the days after I fled this city, I thought you were dead. It was years before I could speak your name, so keenly did I feel that loss. I'm sorry." Nik said and he gives Marcel another comforting hug as he cries.
(Dude I got so upset over Elijah not kissing Hayley at that moment. Like come on bruh.)
