《Home | The Originals》Chapter 32: The End

Genevieve was sitting on her knees at the cemetery with Rebekah and Marcel standing behind her as they watch. Klaus and Phoenix stood behind a gate but were still able to see everything that was happening. Genevieve pulls out a piece of paper that came from a newspaper. She scrunch's the paper into a ball, grabbed a knife, and held it over a candle so it would heat up.
"What do you see?" Genevieve asked the two hybrids as they were still in Rebekah's head.
"My father's blade. It went missing when I was a boy." Klaus said and we were now back at the Sanatorium. "He beat me half to death, so sure I had stolen it. Rebekah was so kind to me in the weeks after the beating I should have known she was the culprit. She never could stand weapons were things not meant for girls." Klaus said. He looked to his right to see Phoenix laying horizontally while tears were falling down her face. One after the other. He went to reach for her again but was soon reminded that he couldn't move his arms.
Genevieve started the spell to send Mikael a message. The ball of paper went up in flames as the ashes of the paper has disappeared. Genevieve has stopped chanting, letting Rebekah and Marcel know that it was done.
"My sister." Klaus said as the memory go through his head over and over again. "Rebekah!" He yelled out. No one noticed that Phoenix had stopped crying after the memory of Genevieve completing the spell. Phoenix has a look of determination on her face, but her eyes shows murder.

"For the better part of a century, I have wondered how father found us, what foolish mistake that we had made to destroy our time in the one place that we could finally call home. Did you know, I even blamed myself for a time, Marcellus?" Elijah said.
Elijah grabs Marcel by his neck and sped him to a wall then he holds him up by his neck. "Elijah!" Hayley said coming over to them.
"Niklaus treated you like a son. Rebekah—"
"I loved her." Marcel choked out, cutting Elijah off. "I still love her. All we ever wanted was to be together, but as long as Klaus was around, that was never gonna happen. But hey, I guess you wouldn't know anything about that, huh?" Marcel said.

Elijah looks at him before dropping Marcel on his feet. "That doesn't explain why they have taken Phoenix as well." Elijah said.
Marcel let's out a deep sigh. "Phoenix had came back to New Orleans. She met this guy, they fell in love, and they had a daughter together. Her daughter name was Rose. Skip 3 years and it's 1919. Phoenix and her family went to the opera house. She left to go to the bathroom and came back to an disaster. Rose father had burned to death while she was crying. Mikael was just about to kill me when Rose stopped him putting the attention on her. Mikael went up to girl as she was trying to stop him from getting any closer. Once Mikael reaches Rose he stabbed his hand in her chest and ripped her heart out and for good measure he ripped her head off as well." Marcel told him.
Hayley and Elijah had a look of horror on their face. No one had said a single word after Marcel told Phoenix's story. Elijah finally breaks the silence. "When Klaus and Phoenix learn the truth, there will be no end to their rage. I will not let my sister suffer that wrath." Elijah whispered to Marcel.
Marcel steps away from Elijah. "Then we need to get to them before they learn the truth."

Genevieve was helping a sick patient as she held a bloody cloth over his mouth. Clara has come over to help her.
"Genevieve, we need to talk privately." Rebekah said as she walks over to the two nurses. A hint of fear was shown on Rebekah's face as Genevieve looks back at Clara.
"I'll be fine here. You go ahead. You should wash up anyway." Clara said and Genevieve went to follow Rebekah. "Hey." Clara stops Genevieve. "Incinerate that as soon as you can." Clara told Genevieve.
"Call it off, are you mad?" Genevieve asked Rebekah as they were in the same room she caught her and Marcel in.
"I was wrong. It was stupid and—and impulsive, and it will ruin us, Genevieve." Rebekah told her as her eyes got glossy over unsheathe tears. "Not just Klaus but Elijah, too. I risked tearing our family apart for my own selfish happiness. I'm begging you, please, don't bring Mikael here." Rebekah pleaded. "If Klaus finds out what we have done, what you have done..."

Genevieve looks back up at Rebekah with fear in her eyes. "Klaus will kill me. He'll kill my entire family." Genevieve said as her eyes start to tear up.
"Which is exactly why I need you to undo it." Rebekah demanded her.
"It doesn't work that way. There is no undoing it. Mikael is coming. The only hope now— is tell Klaus the truth. Confess what we've done." Genevieve said calmly.
"That is not an option. He will dagger me and leave me in a box for centuries," Genevieve turned her back to Rebekah as she process what her fate had come to, "you will not say a word." Rebekah ordered her.
"You used me." Genevieve said as realization is starting to show on her face. She turns around to face Rebekah again. "This whole time. Our friendship. All you wanted was a favor, and now you want to take it back? Well, you can't. And I will not suffer because I was foolish enough to trust you." Genevieve said and step to leave the room she was in.
Rebekah grabbed her arm stopping her. "It was a mistake. I know that now. But that one mistake will destroy us." Rebekah said.
Genevieve started to whisper a spell and Rebekah cried out in pain as she holds her head to try an ease the pain down. "You brought this on yourself. I will not be destroyed along with you." She said.
Rebekah lifts her head up a little to see a bloody cloth in Genevieve's pocket. She rushed to grab and backed Genevieve up against a table behind her. Rebekah holds the bloody cloth up against Genevieve's mouth as said woman stare up at Rebekah with fear.
"I'm so sorry, Genevieve. But if you tell Niklaus you summoned Mikael, you're dead either way." Rebekah said as Genevieve was breathing in the bloody cloth.
The door opens and Clara walks inside the room. "Genevieve, is everything all right?" Clara asks as she walks in the room carrying a glass jar. Clara stares at Rebekah who was holding a bloody cloth before her eyes landed on Genevieve who had fear all over her face with a smudge of blood at her bottom lip. Clara looks at them both shock then drops the glass jar on the floor, breaking it.
Rebekah rushed over to Clara and held the cloth to her mouth so she can also be infected. She compelled the orderlies to keep Genevieve and Clara in quarantine until they died.
Klaus and Phoenix stare at the door that was keeping Genevieve and Clara inside as they slowly die.
~~~
"I'm sorry." Genevieve apologize as Klaus stares straight at the wall in front of him and Phoenix was forced to stare up at the ceiling. Both hybrids silently raging. "I know how much this hurts. To see what she did...to see who she really is. But you needed to know. You needed to see it." Genevieve continues and the two hybrids were breathing heavily through their nose in anger. "And now that you both have, you can take your revenge. Our revenge."
Genevieve held her wrist out for Klaus to bite into so he can get his strength back. Klaus immediately bites into it before pulling away. She does the same for Phoenix as she drinks a bit more from Genevieve than Klaus did.
Genevieve grabs Papa Tunde's blade and starts to unlock the cuffs to Klaus and Phoenix. Once freed Klaus speeds up and takes the blade out of Genevieve's hand then held it up to her neck. Phoenix got off from her gurney and stood beside Klaus.
Klaus held the blade there for a while before he slowly brings it down to his side. The hybrids turn around and left the room they're in, in search for the original sister. "Rebekah!" They yelled out as they storm the abandoned hallways.
Scorched - The Winter Winds (LitRPG)
Frank Ebner once wanted to save the world. Let the second one be better than the first. On Earth he was a student of... well it hardly matters anymore. It was dying, and he and the rest of his fellows and friends studying how to stave off the end graduated just in time to be told it was too late. That there was not enough time, funds, will, to stop it anymore. That the governments and the worthies of the world had moved from trying to stop it, to surviving the oncoming apocalypse, while blaming each other. That was a world Frank wanted nothing to do with. One riven by wars for places in the Archologies going up, and between them and the dying world they were leaving behind. So when a strange voice offered him a way out, to a world unmarred by the poison killing his? Frank took it. The voyage changed him, made him fit his new world, one of stats and magic. It came with perks, for in passing through their Heavens, they'd been exposed to Divinity, and taken some of the Celestial within them. Heroes now, but there are heroes, and there are Heroes. The nobility of the Empire care only for those who carry blessed bloodlines, and their time to adapt and train up for the new world is limited. Patrons are scarce among those like Frank, with only the base Hero perks, and magic studies expensive and lengthy. Often requiring heavy Oaths to gain the necessary aid to wield mana as a mage. Frank found another way. It nearly cost him his life. Now on the run and burned by the very magic he sought and craved, he is a pilgrim traveling to the The Eternal Tree, font of Perseverance. Frank hopes Ir-karlak will grant him some way to recover from the fires that scorched him. Without snuffing out the embers those fires lit within, for he has learned to harness them and he would not give up magic for the world. *** In the last 21 days, as I update this, I've managed about 18-19 updates. So Scorched should update most days, muse willing. She's fickle, sometimes. Not every day, but most. If there's an update for the day, it will be at 7PM, GMT+2. *[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Actually completed it. :) *
UPDATES TUES/THURS after chapter 5 Cover art by Tumblr User: @pigeon-princess This book features characters that are related to in many ways to my other novel "Grimoire". While both stories are their own stand alone series, Sun God's Corruption will add a good amount of depth to Grimoire, and Grimoire shows the unfoldings of the world that will eventually come from the events in Sun God's Corruption. I reccomend reading them both interchangably.
