《Home | The Originals》Chapter 49: Mikael

I was walking past Rousseau when I hear yelling and things banging against each other. I furrowed my eyebrows and sped inside to see a big group of werewolves huddling in a circle. I caught a werewolf throwing Davina against the bar table threw the crowd and I immediately got angry.
I used my magic to force every wolf away from Davina and she ungracefully fall to the ground. I stopped as I see a wolf get flunged through the air and landing on the others. I looked at him confused before following where he was thrown from.
My breath hitched as I stare at the man I haven't seen in 100 years. Mikael. He was staring at all the wolves that was here. "You filthy dogs." He insulted them as the wolves recuperated themselves.
One by one they all attack Mikael but he swiftly kills them all once they come in contact. I look down his back to see the white oak stake sitting there making me take a step back from the fight.
I got back into reality when I hear Davina scream out. I look her way to see a wolf grab hold of her. I rush to Davina's aid and twisted the wolf so he would face me. I grab him by his neck and flipped him on his back since I can't really lift him up in the air because of how short I am. I use all my hybrid strength to kick my foot into his head making it pop off and fly across the room.
After Mikael handle the rest of the wolves he looks down at Davina and she looks back at him. "Well, now... what an interesting turn of events." Mikael said and immediately grabs Davina off the floor. "I'm going to enjoy this, girl." Mikael went to bite into Davina's neck but I quickly shove him into a wall away from her.

I hear someone whoosh right next to me and I see Elijah standing defensively as he stares into the face of his alive and very healthy father. "Father?" Elijah asked confused.
Mikael cracks his back and looks at his son. "Hello, son I'd hoped to see your brother first...but we have some unfinished business as well." Mikael said then he looks at me. "I remember you. Or more specifically, I remember that daughter of yours." He said. I didn't respond to him. I was too scared and my senses were on high alert getting ready for anything he might do. "That's one abomination down, now I can send you with her." He said.
Elijah and Mikael started fighting after that and I got some punches in their whenever they separated. I push Mikael away from me and he instantly pulls out the white oak stake that went missing. Elijah rushes to take the stake out his hand but Mikael shoved him away.
It was my turn and I put up a good fight. I try to take the stake but he would always move it away from me. He then tries to stake me as well but I dodge all of his attempts until the final one.
He pushed me against the bar table and held me down. The stake was hovering over my heart as I was holding back the hand that held it. I used all my strength to keep the stake away from me but it was inching closer and closer to my skin. Elijah came to my rescue and helped me with holding the stake back but it was still getting closer.
I yelled out as it enters my chest, but Mikael look towards Davina and speeds towards her. He was about to stab her with the stake but she held her hand out and he stop. I look at her wrist to see a bracelet on her and I figured out that was what was controlling Mikael because there was no way he would not kill her just because she said so.

Mikael sped away and I stare at Davina with the unsheathe tears in my eyes from almost getting killed. She stares back at me with pity in her eyes but I shake my head at her then left Rousseau's, but not without hearing small steps following after me.
"Phoenix please wait." Davina yelled out to me and I decided to stop to see what excuse she could have for bringing Mikael back. I turn back around and once she saw my sad face hers grew more guilty. "I'm sorry."
"Sorry for what, Davina? Are you sorry for bringing the man that killed my first daughter back to life? Or are you sorry that you were going to let him kill me with the white oak stake?" I yelled at her making her cry but at the moment I could care less. "Davina I have been by your side since we have met. I let you stay in my home rent free, I helped you with your magic, I even let you do whatever it is you wanted as long as you were happy with your decisions. But I draw the line with you bringing Mikael back to life. So, you do whatever you want Davina, because from this point on I do not care if you are dead or not." I said to her raising my voice at certain parts of my speech.
I turned back around and headed home leaving a crying teenager on the sidewalk.

Stories Of Indlu
“… to grow, for opportunity, for adventure, to be free. Join the colony ship Nao Vittoria. Be the first to live amongst the stars.” It was obvious from the literature that the NextStar corporation wanted the young, the adventurous and the brilliant. So why were the super rich fighting over seats? Why were AI’s trying to stow away? Did this signify a premature end to human/AI civilisation? Why had some questions directed to NextStar been aggressively sidelined? Why did the colonist inflight entertainment trial produce fatalities? In fact, why colonists at all? Those and many other questions, however, boiled down to a single central question. Why was the world’s most advanced AI dumped with a hundred year babysitting job for 50 million people speeding towards an uninhabitable planet? It made such little sense. The only sure way to get answers, catch a ride on the Nao Vittoria and play the inflight entertainment game, Pax Domini. I joined, and this is my story. Well, I feature. OK, I’m more of a spectator. Actually, I’m completely irrelevant I was just there. I’m only the storyteller. But what a story to tell. --------- Hi All, Content will be published weekly usually Saturday and typical posts will be 25oo to 4ooo words per post. Though for some reason the Royal Road word count does not include the content of tables so some posts may not appear to meet this criteria. Currently I have written sufficient unedited content to keep this schedule for the next 12 months (half way through the first story arc). My current productivity would indicate that I can maintain this schedule for well into the second story arch. This also allows for the additional content that will be posed exclusively on Patreon (https://www.patreon.com/StoriesOfIndlu). This additional content follows minor characters, peripheral events, maps and other content that does not take away from the main story. I would love to accelerate the post schedule but to meet this I need the assistance of more beta readers than I currently have. So please let me know if you are interested. - Andy ©2022 Andy Leauter.
