《Home | The Originals》Chapter 58: Family is Everything

"What the bloody hell do you want?" I yelled into my phone as I give my kids their breakfast. I was extremely annoyed today.
"Are you still mad at me, love?" Niklaus asked me.
"Niklaus I have had it up to the bloody sky with you. There are a million things that I am mad at you for." I said to him as I put Eric down and moved onto Nicholas.
"Now you're just exaggerating things." He said.
"Which parent left their 7 children in a room full of hungry vampires? Which lover left their partner to fend for not only themselves but their kids as well?" I yelled making him not say a single thing. "I am also angry that you would leave your younger brother to die as well. He is your brother Niklaus. At the end of the day family should mean everything to the both of you. You got to understand that he didn't feel part of the family and was betrayed by each and every one of you. You should know a thing or two about how it feels when family betrays one another." I ranted to him before I hang up the call.
~~~
"Yes, Kol, how can I help you?" I asked him as I put the kids in their bassinets so they can take a nap.
"Davina and Aiden are going to the shop Lenore runs before my mother possessed her body. They are trying to rescue Marcel and Josh." Kol explained to me.
I sigh. "Alright then. I'll go help them bring them back since I'm going to assume they'll be stubborn and be running in blind." I said and hang up the phone.
~~~
Me, Davina and Aiden snuck into the back of the shop to see all the vampires unconscious. Kol was with Finn distracting him. Aiden spots Josh on the floor and immediately went to his aid.

Josh suddenly wakes and growls at Aiden making him step back. All the other vampires wake up as well and stare at us like food. We tried to make a run for it but Josh whooshed in our way keeping us in.
I grabbed Davina's hand then looked at her and she got what I was going to do. We chant and all the vampires fell down back into unconsciousness while Aiden picks up Josh over his shoulder. Once done they immediately leave while I hang back to see if Kol was doing fine.
I see Kol humanly run towards the back room I was in so I had to get out of the way and hide into the shadows.
I know Kol likes to play his tricks on his family. Like putting Rebekah into a different body or trying to make a dagger specifically for Niklaus but he loves his family. He just wants to be important enough that they care.
Well now he got that person. Me. I may be an only child but I know family love when I see it and I also seen what it's like to be betrayed by one of your own.
Finn walks in after Kol. "Seems your little friend Davina has absconded with one of my prisoners." Finn said.
"I didn't come for a fight." Kol said. I shine a light from my hand across Kol's face so he can notice me and he did, and he thankfully didn't stare at me for too long because that would let Finn know I was here as well. "That little witch asked me to be a distraction. She can be quite pushy when she wants to be, you know."
Finn scoffed at him before grabbing Kol by the back of his neck pulling him closer. "Don't you see? We were given a gift. Rebirth." Finn let's go of Kol but Kol held onto his arms breathing heavily. "Unfettered by vampirism. We were made clean. And all that was asked was a pittance in return and you could not even give that."

"Finn. You're angry. And when you're angry, you don't think straight. So just give me a chance—"
"You don't deserve another chance, Kol." Finn cuts him off. Finn puts his hands on both side of Kol's face. "So I'm going to give you the one thing I know you fear most. Death."
I almost gave myself away because I was about to gasp. He really hates his family to condemn one of his own to death like that. This is a first for me. I never met a family like this in all my life. Niklaus daggering his family was a bit odd but once I got to know him I understood it. He loves his family. Doesn't want them to leave in case one day Mikael had found them by theirselves and killed them so he daggers them and keeps them hidden until Mikael was dealt with. There could be many assumptions for Klaus' actions but this is the one I'm sticking with.
I closed my eyes and silently chant. I picture the necklace that Kol is wearing and buffed it up more. Finn doesn't notice but the necklace is glowing as it absorbed the curse Finn is trying to place. "I curse you to this body unable to jump to another. Over the next few days, I want you to contemplate what's to come. A meaningless, lonely death and the darkness to follow." Finn says then he finally takes his hands off Kol's chest letting me know he was done so I can stop chanting. "Clock starts now. Be sure to say your goodbyes. Go. Brother, I will not miss you." He said then he left the shop.
Once I know for sure Finn is truly gone I come out of hiding. Kol sees me and looks at me expectedly. "Give me the necklace." I told him.
Kol unhooks the necklace and gazes at how it keeps glowing on and off. "What's it doing?" He asked me as he drops it gently in my hands.
"It's obviously glowing." I said making him role his eyes as I smile. "While he was trying to curse you I had to make the necklace stronger than I made it before. The curse is now stuck into this necklace and if I want someone dead I'll just put this on them and take the spell off so whoever is wearing it will now be cursed."
"Why are you so hell bent on protecting me?" Kol asks.
"Like I said. You deserve to be part of this family just as much as any of your siblings. And besides any of them would most likely do the same thing you have done given the same situation. You have been betrayed so you out of anyone deserve to feel what it's like to finally have someone be there for you. You're also what I imagine a little brother is like." I said making him smile down at me. Did I forget to mention that he is like 3 feet taller than me?
Kol pulls me into a hug. "Thank you." He whispers to me.
"You are family to me now. I would do this for anybody. Except Finn." I said making him laugh. "But now we got to fake your death and hopefully you can live your life away from this broken family." I said making him nod his head.
(A/N: You guys don't understand. Kol is like the love of my fantasy life. I will not let ANYTHING happen to him.)

Asturian Warbringer - A LitRPG on Earth
Currently releasing 5 chapters a week Luke Kells liked only one thing about himself: his green eyes. He hated getting bullied, hated being poor, hated being an orphan, hated his weakness, hated the government, hated his life. If someone had given him a button to push and kill everyone but him and his granddad, he would've done it without a second thought. Then, one day, after fainting during a beating, he woke up with memories that would change his life. Magic, martial arts, how to craft special artifacts; he knew it all. Anyone would’ve taken that path to glory at once. However, he had to deal with a lot on his plate first. To even begin walking that path, Luke first had to deal with his own psychological issues. Almost two years of brutal bullying that was akin to torture and no support from the school staff of the police had left him with a broken soul. Before even realizing he could be rich or powerful, he had to bring himself out of the mental hellhole he found himself in. Oh, and his memories also told him the Sentinel Tower would change reality in six months to protect the planet from the Demonic Horde. But that wasn’t as important as not making the local bully angry, right? A story about personal growth, overcoming obstacles, and reaching absolute glory at the end of the path. This is a slow-paced, character-centered story. If you want something faster paced, filled with almost immediate and nonstopping action, check out my other novel: Modern Awakening - A cultivation, LitRPG, apocalyptic novel. Other Tales of En
Welcome to The Other Tales of En, a place where I put short stories that didn't get to be told in the main series. These are scenes and tales of characters I just had to have more of, moments I needed to see, and self-indulgent interactions. I hope you love them as much as I do! Chapters are labelled with initials of the Tale first and have notes for their beginning and end. Any chance of spoilers are listed for each tale below as well as their initials. TABLE OF CONTENTS Tale 1: Taff and Adon (T&A) The tale of when Taff and Adon first met. Slight spoilers for Starchild but not really, let's just say Adon's version of the story in Stormspeaker wasn't *quite* accurate ;) Tale 2: Vai and Echa (V&E) The tale of the meeting everyone tried to prevent. It was bound to happen and this is how it went. Spoilers for Children of the Bear, particularly Fiona's Tale, I recommend reading when you are finished with that series. Tale 3 [IN PROGRESS]: Echa and Tryst (E&T) The tale of how the cowardly pirate and the bitter slave fell in love.

A sickness is spreading. Dungeons are dying and crumbling to dust. Monsters that had been residing in them gather in hordes and spill out in waves over the neighboring kingdoms, swallowing them whole. The last of the Heroes are dying out. For some reason, new heroes haven’t been born or summoned into this world for the last century. Oracles have no answers. They are going blind and mute: seeing no futures and telling no prophecies. And while all this is happening, the [Voice], the entity that had been guiding everyone from the very beginning of time, is silent. Leaving humans and others with no guidance to solve this problem. Is this the end of Time? Author's note: Being someone with full-time work and with a rolling schedule, I'll update whenever I have time, so no promises on a consistent schedule. *This is a slow paced story with dungeon building elements showing up later on. *In this world, a dungeon seed first needs to prove its worth and only then it gets the chance to become a dungeon core and grow. *All art is by me
