《Home | The Originals》Chapter 59: Family is Power

"Pick up the damn phone. Finn is trying to find Hope." Klaus said into his phone leaving a voice mail on Elijah's phone. He and this other girl that was following him walk down the stairs as I lean against the railing from above.
"She's safe. It'll take a hundred witches to break the cloaking spell." The girl said. I'm so confused on why she is here, how she knows that Hope is alive, and why Klaus hasn't kicked her out by now.
"I would've said the same about finding you. Yet a flock of starlings later and here we are." Klaus said. What? Ohh this is Rebekah's body that she jumped into. This makes more sense now.
"We won't let him get to her, Nik. But you need to remain calm." Rebekah said.
"Our brother doesn't do calm." I look to my left to see Kol walk in angrily. He throws dust in Rebekah's face that makes her unconscious then he held his hand out when Klaus made a move to stop him. Klaus bent over as blood starts to fall out his mouth. I look into Kol's hand and see the diamond he was hell bent on getting in his hands. He's channeling it.
I would go down there and do something but nah. "Oh, you're angry, are you? Well, join the party. I've been here a thousand years." Kol yells out.
Klaus went to attack his brother but Kol stopped him again forcing him to get on his knees.
"I was building that dagger to protect myself against you, Nik. I'm not the bad guy in this chapter of our family's story." Kol yells at him as he walks around Nik before standing back in front of him. "I'm the wronged. I'm the dead but never mourned. And whilst you got everything that you wanted, I got a family who didn't care if I lived or if I died."
"Oh, shut up." Klaus said then he speeds Kol into a wall holding him by his neck. I came down and stood behind them but still made no effort in stepping in between them. They need to get this out now. "We've all suffered. We've all been wronged." Klaus yells at him.
"Go on. Go on, finish it off. Go on, kill me." Kol yells out and I see his eyes getting glossy.
They stare at each other for a while before Klaus ungracefully let's go on him and Kol falls down laying against the wall behind him.
"I'm not gonna kill you, you idiot. Despite your behavior, you're still my brother." Klaus said.
I smile at this. "Just the one you dagger, repeatedly." Kol said.
"I daggered all of you. Each for your own good." Nik yells out. "If you don't agree with my motives, fine. I never claimed to be the bastion of temperance. But stop this drivel about being singled out and unloved. You are a Mikaelson." Nik yells and stood in front of Kol making him look up at his older brother. "You're my blood." Nik squats down to Kol's level. "And I need you. I need you by my side."

I feel like I'm intruding on this very special brotherly moment. Who the bloody hell cares I'm going to watch magic happen before my eyes. "What does it even mean, Nik? Hm? You talk about family. Family this, family that. I haven't even earned the right to share your secrets, have I?" Kol asked.
"No, you haven't. But by all means, brother, prove yourself. It's not too late." Nik said and held his hand out to Kol for him to take. And he did. Nik picked him up from the floor.
"Finn wants your blood. He promised to heal me if I delivered it. But there is something you should know." Kol said.
"You know where he is?" Nik asked him ignoring the last part he said.
"You've gotta tell me why he wants it." Kol asked of him but Nik just scoffs. "Look, Nik. You've gotta trust me, for once in your life, and I will stand by stand by your side. I promise." Kol begged of him.
"You would risk your life to help me?" Nik asked him.
"I know enough about dark magic to know when I am hexed." Kol said and was about to continue when I started to walk towards them.
"But you are not thanks to yours truly." I said with a big smile on my face. Nik looked at me confused before looking back at Kol.
"That's what I was going to tell you. I'm not hexed. Phoenix saved me from the curse."
"So why lie about being hexed when your not?" Nik asked him.
"Because I need my death to be believable. The less people that will know the more believable it will be. Niklaus you are my brother, and I trust you more than I let on. And if I were to die, I'll be damned if Finn gets what he wants." Kol explained.
"Finn has been dead to me for a long time. Tonight, I intend to make that official. Help me then I will share my secret with you." Nik said.
"He'll be in the bell tower of the St. Louis Cathedral." Kol said then he turned to me. "Do you remember the spell?" He asked me.
I smirk at him. "Do you even know who you're talking to? Of course I remember it. I created majority of these black magic spells." I said and I can feel my ego rising.
"Then we got ourselves a witch to find." Kol said.
~~~
We walk up to the bell tower in the Cathedral to see a table filled with dust and burnt out candles. "Where is he? Is this a trick?" Nik asked Kol.
"He said he be here, I swear." Kol said as he stares around the place.
"Have some faith would you?" I told Nik
"This is the remnant of a spell. Ancient. It's impressive." Kol said.
"Admire its artistry later. Tell me what he set in motion." Nik demanded.
"Kol." I look up to Rebekah who was standing on a ladder. "What is that?" She points to the table.
I see something underneath all the dust and pick it up brushing the dust off. The shape looks familiar but it's like it was burnt off. I chant to unborn the piece in my hands and once done I look back down to see a tunic tile.
"Runic Tiles. What's it mean?" Rebekah asked.
"It's a symbol. For baby." I said as my face goes pale.
Kol looks at his siblings as they were showing signs of distress. "That's it, isn't it? Your baby's still alive."
"Finn tricked us into running about all day thinking he was looking for a way to find Hope." Rebekah said.
"When he knew where she was all along." Nik finished then he pulled out his phone.
Once done with his call with Elijah which our warning had ultimately failed since Finn is now there with him, Nik decides to call Cami. "Cami's not answering." Nik said.
"Elijah will protect them." Rebekah reassured him.
"Finn is channeling both our parents. He's too strong. We need to find a way to sever his link. How do we do that?" He asked looking up to me and Kol.
"We can't sever the link. But there is something that we can try." Kol said.
"I don't know where he is storing your parents but I would need to get to them so we can stop Finn. Then I can just use my own power to stop him." I said.
~~~
"We can't get in without Finn's blood." Kol said.
"How do we disrupt Finn from channeling our parents in there if we can't get to the bloody binding circle?" Rebekah asked.
"We are not here to disrupt Finn's power. We're trying to overload it." I explained.
"Are you daft? You want to make him stronger?" Rebekah asked us as if we were stupid.
I sigh. "A witch can only channel so much power until it inevitably kills them. Finn will either release the power I give him or take it all and die from within." I said.
"He won't be dead. He'll just body jump." Rebekah stated.
"Yes, into a body 300 miles away from the niece that he's trying to nab." Kol said.
"In case you're wondering, this is the side of you I like." Rebekah said.
"Look, I um...I'm gonna get you back in your body, Beks. If it's the last thing I do. I promise." Kol said.
"How sweet of you." I said as I wrap my arm around Kol's shoulder. "So sorry to ruin this moment but I'm more worried about how much use Rebekah will be in our plan to get inside when she knows not one thing about magic. Oh wait, that's why I am here. I'm more powerful than the both you."
Kol kicked the back of my leg making me fall as I groan out in pain. Okay. Time to dial it down a notch. My ego is going to kill me one day. "I see why Nik does this so much." Kol said making Rebekah and Nik laugh as he walks into the tomb.
Nik held his hand out for me and I took it so I can get off the ground. "Did you get me what I asked for?" I asked him and he drops the bag on the ground.
"Mystical artifacts and dark objects galore. From my own personal collection, garnered over a thousand years." Nik said as Kol looks through the bag.
"I wondered where this had gone. Half this stuff is mine." Kol said.
"There's more." Nik said. A blade falls out into the pile and Kol looks up to see Nik holding the white oak that can't be burned towards him to have.
"You would entrust me with this?" Kol asked him.
"Whatever you need." Nik softly slaps it onto Kol's hand. "Whatever it takes."
"All right. Let's get started." I said.
Kol puts the stake in front of the gravestone and him, me, and Rebekah put one hand on it. We closed our eyes as we start the spell.
We kept chanting as we push threw it. Then we beat Finn's spell. But we ended up getting pushed away and we fell onto our backs.
"You're a genius." Rebekah said as she gets up to help Kol. Nik walked over to me and helped me up and checked me over to see if I was okay. "You glorious bastard." Rebekah pulled Kol into a bear hug.
"I'm a little surprised it worked myself." Kol said as he hugs his sister back.
"Have a little faith in yourself." Nik said as he watched them hug.
I look at them with happiness in my eyes but what I'm about to do will crush Rebekah. I chanted in my head so Kol can start coughing. Me, Kol, and Nik agreed that only the three of us can know that he is not actually dying but we need others to believe that he is.
"Kol?" Rebekah said as she watches Kol bend over and cough harshly like there was something stuck in his throat. "Listen." Rebekah pulled Kol back up so he can face her. "I am not gonna let you die. You hear me? Whatever it takes."
"I am once again reminded by Elijah's words. Family is power." Nik said before looking back down at me. "Am I allowed in bed now? My back hurts." Nik asked me making me smile.
"Of course you are. This day only proves it. But do anything like that again and you'll get more than just evicted out of bed." I threatened him but he just smiles down at me.
"A happy wife is a happy life." He said almost laughing but I cut him off when I stepped on his foot really hard.
"We're not even bloody married." I muttered to myself even though he can clearly hear me, so he pulls me deeper into a hug.

The Man who knew no Limits
The story follows the life of a man who gets teleported to another world with a strange power. And that is where the cliches end. Common morals do not apply to the man. He is crude. He will do what he wants: he will not shy from using cheap tricks if it leads to a situation favourable to him. He will not save a damsel in distress if he doesn't want to, even if it is as easy as lifting a finger. He may even cause the distress himself if he finds it amusing. He may reward those who please him, while trampling those who are annoying. But the man's life, by no means, will be easy. He shall be OP, but it will not be enough, for some things just cannot be controlled. Warning: Gore, profanity, explicit sexual content. =========================================== I have taken the image from some article.
