《Home | The Originals》Chapter 70: My Sire

(Like I said, I don't really do flashbacks)
I was sitting at a random bar drinking my motherhood away when I feel someone sit next to me. "I'm unavailable, not interested, and you are most likely hideous for me to even look at so I suggest you take your leave before you regret it." I said to the unknown person and took a sip of my wine.
"Is this what you have been doing for the past thousand years?" I hear a voice I haven't heard in a long time. I turn around to see my first vampire I turned. "Paula." I said when I finally looked to my left to see her.
She hasn't changed over the years. "It's been a while old friend. Still drinking the bars dry?" She asked me making me chuckle.
"Your sharp tongue hasn't changed over the years. Still out saving those in need?" I asked her.
"You know it." Paula said with a bright smile. Back in my early years as a vampire I had stumbled upon Paula when she was 10. She was being beaten and abused by her biological parents and I couldn't stand for it. I saved her and we spent a good 7 years together. She asked me to change her one day when we saw a kid get treated unfairly. Said she wants to help those in need and inspire them to do the same. I granted her wish and watched over her for a couple of years. She turned the ones she saved into vampires and gave them the same quest in saving those in need. She is the whole reason my sireline was expanding over the years.
"What is your reason for being here, my sire?" I asked her.
"Word on the street is that the other sirelines are starting a war between them." Paula said ordering a drink for herself.

"What does Klaus, Elijah, and Rebekah's sirelines have to do with me?" I asked. They can fight among themselves for all I care. As long as they don't try anything drastic then and only then I would involve myself.
"Those sirelines are barbaric. We don't want anything to happen to you in case they try something." Paula said.
I looked at her confused when she said "we." I finally look at my surroundings and see all the customers are gone and is filled with vampires just standing around watching our conversation.
"We are now going to be, what the humans like to call, your secret service. We will not allow anything to happen to you while this war is happening." Paula announced and all the vampires cheered in agreement.
"Love the enthusiasm, darling. But I can protect myself." I said with an encouraging smile. I am not mentally prepared to be followed around by my sires.
"You may be able to protect yourself because you are half vampire and half witch, but let's not forget you almost died three months ago." Paula said.
"A white oak alone cannot kill me entirely and nobody knows what can truly kill me since my parents left out that piece of information when they created the spell to change me without my knowledge." I said. Even I have no clue what can kill me. I thought it was white oak since it can any Original but my parents could have bounded my immortal life to something that is not the white oak. I mean it did hurt a lot when I inhaled the damn thing but I don't think I was actually going to die.
I went to get up from my stool but Paula held me back down. "You can complain all you want about being able to protect yourself, but we won't take any chances of you actually dying. You are getting our protection whether you like it or not. And I will make sure you stay safe." Paula promised me.

I finished off the rest of my wine. "Well, if you are going to be staying in this city, you'll need a place to stay." I said looking at all of the vampires. "And there are rules here. Feed, heal, and erase. We need the humans to come back or at least stay so the vampires here can feed. Don't mess with the witches unless you want to be hexed. Stay out of the bayou because that is werewolf territory. There is a serial killer on the loose so most of you will have to resort in animal diet or get your blood from the hospital." I said and left the bar.
Not even a second later I hear footsteps behind me. "You are really serious about keeping me safe, are you?" I asked as I turned around to face Paula.
"I was being serious. And I'm moving in with you." Paula said and I can tell she will not take no for an answer.
I sigh and continue walking towards the Compound.
~~~
Once at the Compound I met up with Nik who greeted me in our room. "Where have you been, love?" He asked me as he pulls me into a hug. He didn't even notice Paula walking in.
"Meeting an old friend and the rest of my sireline." I said. Nik pulled away from me and finally sees Paula standing behind us, watching our interaction. "Klaus meet Paula, Paula this is Klaus. Paula is a friend of mine and is also the first person I turned into a vampire." I greeted them.
I turned around to face Paula. "The door to my left leads to my kids room. Stay out of it. Other than that you can pick any room that is not occupied." I told her.
She nodded her head at me and left to go find a room to sleep in. "What is she doing here?" Nik asked me as he wraps his arms around me from behind and dug his head into my neck.
"She came here to give me special protection from this war between your families sirelines. The rest however are settling in the city somewhere." I said as he leaves kisses down my neck.
"You don't need her when you have me to protect you." Nik whispered.
"I technically said the same thing, but she is stubborn and won't take no for an answer." I said. My breath hitched when he kissed my sweet spot.
Nik quickly turned me around and picked me up by my thighs and kissed me hungrily. He then threw me onto our bed and we proceeded to make love together.
