《Home | The Originals》Chapter 84:Upgraded

(A/N: I got sick last week, but I am feeling so much better now. That you guys for being so patient. You will now get spammed with two new chapters.)
"Why not head back, get up to no good?" I hear Kol say as I enter the St. James bar, the one place that magic is not allowed in.
"Please don't." I said making them look at me. "I rather not have my ears bleed out, unless of course you want to hear about how good your brother is in bed." I said jokingly.
Kol scrunched his face up in disgust. "Bloody hell, no. Don't condemn me to that. I might actually want to die this time." He said and I let out a deep laugh.
I watch as Davina slowly walks over to me with her head down a bit. "I just want to say that I am sorry for trying to go after Klaus. I should have listened to you and Marcel and stop my vengeance against him. It never really gotten me anywhere. I am also sorry for stealing from you." Davina said.
I didn't say anything for a bit making Davina sad vibe even more sad as she stands in front of me. I pulled her into a hug which shocked her a lot.
"Apology accepted." I said and she finally hugs me back. I pulled away from her. "So where the bloody hell is Vincent?" I asked the two.
"I'm not sure. Something doesn't feel right." Davina said. "Vincent said we were up against a common threat. Now he's missing. St. James is the one place in New Orleans where magic doesn't work. Why would he wanna meet somewhere where he can't do magic?" Davina walked around the place trying to look for clues.
While she was distracted I made my way over to Kol. "So, about that favor you needed." I said reminding him of what he said not that long ago.
"Can you promise not to say anything to anyone, especially Davina?" Kol asked me. I nodded my head as a yes. "Alright. I'm having trouble controlling my bloodlust. Of course I was perfectly fine when I was MIA, but since I've been back I can't seem to control myself and I'm worried that I will end up hurting Davina. I want to know if you could help me with this because I would never live with myself if I hurt her." Kol said as he looks over his shoulder at Davina.
He really and genuinely loves Davina. "Yeah, I can help you. There's pretty much a spell for every little thing in the supernatural world.
"This is his." I look back at Davina and I see her holding a phone and a vial of blood. She walks over to us and sat down on a stool. She plays the video on the phone.
"Davina, listen. I know we're not on the best of terms, but I need you to listen to me, okay? I really hope Phoenix is with you so she can hear this as well. Um... We're in serious trouble. Now, I'm recording this here because it's... it's free from magic and magic is our enemy. The Ancestors got me on the hook doing some pretty twisted magic, and I want no part of it. But they're forcing me to help Lucien Castle." What does Lucien have to do with anything? "And if you don't help me, Freya Mikaelson's gonna die." Kol dropped his glass and we both moved to either side of Davina so we can watch and listen very closely. "They forced me to take her, then had me put up a cloaking spell so we can't be tracked. Now Lucien's taking us out of town, some place I don't know where. But there's a loophole." Elijah stopped the recording.

We all came back to the Compound to show Elijah what we have found out. "Just how am I the loophole?" Finn asked with his hands on his hips.
"Last year, when Esther first brought us back, I got put in the body of a gormless twit, but you got housed in one of the most powerful witch bodies in the city. Vincent's. And even after all this time, there's still an echo of body-soul connection between you two." Kol explained.
Elijah pressed play on the recording again.
"And, Davina or Phoenix, whichever one, that's when they come into play. I need a powerful witch that's off the Ancestor's radar. I want you to find the thread between me and Finn."
Elijah paused the video. "Have either of you done anything like this?" He asked us.
"I don't even know if it's possible. But I do have Vincent's blood." Davina said.
"This is a first for me because I never had to find someone through a body that they use to be in. But it is very possible. All we need is Finn's blood and hope that we do the spell right. We should be able to track Vincent down." I said.
"I should have sensed something was wrong when Freya didn't call. Now Lucien has a head start. Go witch. Tend to your spells. I won't rest until she's found." Finn said.
"Behold, the selfless martyr. First he wants to rip Davina's head off for trapping him in his body, now he can't wait to be spelled." Kol said.
Finn took a few steps towards his brother but Elijah had spoken up stopping yet another fight. "Finn, you and I shall go together. Kol, you stay here with Davina and Phoenix." He said as he got up.
"You're going with him?" Kol asked stopping them from leaving. "So the two people responsible for not destroying the white oak when they had the chance, thus putting us in this bloody mess, and they're off to try and fix it. That's just marvelous. I mean, what could possibly go wrong?"
I stepped in front of Kol before Elijah could do so. "I need you to calm down." I said as he looks down at me. "We are going to need your help with this, so if we can hurry up and find Vincent the better we can have the chance in getting the white oak back again."
Davina grabbed his arm pulling him into another room and I followed after them.
~~~
They should keep heading northeast." Davina said as she uses the thing that drops blood every now and then on the world map.
"What? Northeast? They've been driving northeast for an hour, love. We need to get a tad more specific before they hit the Atlantic Ocean." Kol said.
"The soul-blood connection is not strong like a locator spell, Kol. The most we can narrow it down to is Virginia. Northern Virginia." I said getting rid of his frustration that was evident on his face.
Kol looked at me surprised. "You're bloody joking." He said making me and Davina look at him confused. "We were born in Northern Virginia." He said. Kol scoffed as he steps away from the map. "There's a one-horse town there now called Mystic Falls. We were turned into vampires there. That's too much of a coincidence. Can you be a little more precise?" Kol asked once he turns around.
"No, I need to boost the signal somehow. Maybe some black cohosh." Davina suggested.
"Black cohosh won't do it!" Me and Kol said at the same time but Kol was pretty much yelling at her. I looked at him in concern. His bloodlust is starting to affect him I think. I need to help him quickly. "Sorry." He quickly apologized looking at me and Davina. He forced a smile on his face so Davina won't be so suspicious of his behavior. "I got a better idea. A blood Rider." Kol said more calmly this time.
"You mean that Tibetan singing bowl I had cast into a dark object in the 1800s?" I asked and Kol nodded his head yes.
"It's like an echo chamber." He explained to Davina. "But with Finn's blood we can amplify the connection he has with Vincent." Kol said.
"Davina why don't you go to my closet and break the floorboard in the center and get the dark object. I need to speak with Kol for a few minutes." I said and she did just that.
Once Davina left the room Kol started pacing back and forth. "It's getting worst." He complained.
"I can see that." I commented.
"Please tell me you found a solution to control my thirst? You are the only witch I know that is powerful to do any spell on this planet." Kol asked me once he had stopped pacing giving me a lot of hopefulness.
I made one of my grimoire fall into my hands out of thin air and I opened it to the right page. "I do. And luckily it is very easy for me to do. The only way I can control your bloodlust is to link it to someone else. I will link you to me since I am a hybrid and my witch side allows me to not drink as much blood as a normal vampire drinks." I said.
"You'll be putting your life in danger if you link yourself to me. What if something happens to me? You have a children that needs their mother. I can't let you do that." Kol said.
"You literally just said that I am the most powerful witch in the world. Trust me, I found a loophole in this spell. I will only be linking our bloodlust. If one of us die then we won't be taking each other down with the other." I said.
Kol was still hesitant about it but he slowly nodded his head and I quickly start the spell before he even think about changing his mind. Two minutes went by and me and Kol felt a connection between us when I stopped chanting and we look at each other in the eye. Before we can say anything Davina walked in with the bowl and I just played it cool to not bring any suspicion to one another.
(How the fuck did Matt live for so long? And when the fuck did he suddenly grew a pair of balls and hold up a gun to Elijah and Finn. What a fucking dumbass. I want to make some unexplained death for Matt in my future fanfics but he is needed in Legacies. Lucky bastard)
"With Finn's blood we can amplify the connection he has with Vincent." Kol said as Davina pour the blood in the bowl. I was letting her do this so she can get some good practice in doing magic. "Feel the vibration."
Davina started stirring the blood with a her eyes closed doing exactly what Kol said. "Harmonize with the cadence of the drone." I said and Davina did exactly that.
Kol moved to sit behind Davina with one arm over her shoulder, helping her stir the blood. "And once you are both in harmony, it should continue by itself. Then it's up to you to concentrate." He said into her ear.
God I hate to be here right now. This is exactly what every third wheel feels like. I hate this feeling. I miss Nik.
~~~
Lucien ended up becoming some upgraded Original, Elijah and Finn rescued Freya, and Finn got bitten, is all the information I had gathered today from one phone call from Elijah. To say that I was angry was an understatement. I am livid right now. I was brought out of my thoughts when I heard a door being banged open and someone yelling.
"Don't leave me in here! Don't leave me alone!" Finn voice said I whooshed you where they are and say Elijah and Freya carry Finn to the couch.
"Hey, hey, you're not alone, Finn. I'm here." Freya said trying to comfort a hyperventilating Finn.
"Don't." Finn wheezed out.
"Why is he talking like this?" Freya asked me and Elijah.
"It's hallucinations about betrayal." Elijah said as he holds Finn down.
"It's his nightmare." I said lowly but the two still heard me.
"Well, he looks awful." I hear Kol say from behind me and he plops down on the couch across from Finn. "Werewolf bite? That's got to hurt, mate." He mocked. "So Lucien's a bloody hybrid now."
"We don't know what he is." Elijah said stopping his brother from taking joy in their older brother pain.
"I don't understand. A normal werewolf bite would take 1-2 days before vampires start seeing hallucinations. This one only took a few hours and it already looks like it's about to take its final effect." I said.
"Maybe the venom will work through his system at the same speed." Freya said.
"Or it's twice as lethal. Now if Niklaus doesn't get here in time, he might die, with a bit of luck." Kol said.
Freya had enough of Kol mouth it seems. She got from the couch and slapped Kol. Kol did not like that at all and stared at Freya with veins growing underneath his eyes and his eyes turning blood red. "What is wrong with you?" Freya said.
"Behave yourselves!" Elijah yelled at them. "Both of you.
"Kol I know you still hate Finn for trying to kill you but I saved your life before that hex could fully kill you. If you can show a bit of sympathy and please put the past behind you, I would like for you to be here for your brother, or at least pretend to care." I said and Kol slowly put his vampire face away.
"Sibling squabbling. How familiar. Although the teams seem to have changed. Someone care to tell me why?" I hear Nik say from behind us.
It took everything in me to not run up to him and hug him to death. I just stood there with a blank face but even I can tell that my eyes gave my emotion away and I knew that Nik knew that I was extremely happy that he was here.
"Our brother needs us." Elijah said.
Klaus got the memo and walked over to stand behind Finn's head. He bit into his wrist and helped Finn drink his blood.
Once Nik pulled his wrist away is when Finn had started calming down. "Thank you brother." Finn said.
"How are you feeling?" Freya asked him.
"I feel strangely euphoric." Finn said.
"I've been known to have that effect. Ask Nix about it." Nik said with a wicked smile. I immediately start to blush as I didn't want the whole family to know about that. I hide my face in my hands and Nik pull me into his chest and I hid my face there instead.
I heard clapping and I looked up to Kol was the reason for it. "What a precious family moment. Pardon me while I go and gouge out my eyes with hot poker."
"I thank even you, Kol." Finn breathed out tiredly. "Your little witch actually came through. Today..." Finn clears his throat. "I saw a glimpse of your coveted 'always and forever.' And..." Finn suddenly hurled himself over the couch and barred up blood. This suddenly movement made me jump a bit.
"Finn! Finn." Nik said as he and Elijah went to his aid.
"What's happening?" Finn cried out.
"What's wrong with him?" Elijah asked.
"It's his body. It's dying." I said as Ginn continues to wheeze uncontrollably.
"No, no, it's not possible. I cured him!" Nik said with obvious frustration.
"Hey, hey, hey. It's gonna be all right, brother. We'll fix this, you'll see. Okay?" She said to Finn before looking at me. "Can your blood cure him?" She asked me.
"This is a werewolf bite Freya and I'm not part werewolf. Whatever Lucien used to become whatever he is will be the solution to make a cure." I said.
Freya looked at Elijah. "Get my pendant."
"It won't work. Davina fused his soul to his body." Kol said.
"We've got to try. There's no Other Side, no ancestral well if he dies." Freya said.
"No, get your bloody girlfriend back here to undo what she's done. Finn, you will drink from the source until Freya can move you." Klaus ordered.
"No." Finn said weakly. "Don't leave me." He whispered looking straight at Freya.
"I am with you." Freya said as me, Klaus, Elijah, and now Kol surround Finn as his skin turns grey with the dark veins.
~~~
The siblings left to go mourn the death of Finn and I was still in the Compound in the dining room drinking tea. I didn't get to take another sip when I heard one of my kids starting to cry.
Whooshed up there and immediately stopped.
"What are you doing here, Lucien?" I asked him as I watch him turn around with Angel in his arms.
"I need you to come with me, love. I made something for us so we can be the only powerful supernatural on this planet." Lucien said with a big smile on his face.
"And you have to ask me with my daughter in your hands?" I said.
"I know the type of situation you are in and I also know that you can be quite stubborn sometimes. I though this was a good idea to get your attention." He said trying to make Angel laugh but she cried harder.
"Well you got it."
Lucien just smiles and slowly put Angel back in her bed. I took the chance to attack him but before I knew it my neck was snapped.
~~~
"Lucien did all of this to become like his maker, and yet my bite cannot kill an Original. What are we up against here, brother?" Nik asked Elijah.
"I truly don't know." Elijah answered.
"I might." Hayley said as she walks in bringing all the attention to her. "Klaus and I found Lucien's R&D lab full of werewolves. He is harvesting venom but not to find a cure. He's trying to create a more lethal strain." Hayley explained.
"Well, that must be what he added to the spell to make him whatever the hell he is now. He kept boosting about having something that would make him better than an Original." Freya said.
"Klaus is descended from one of the seven original wolf bloodlines, I'm descended from another. Lucien's venom? Is derived from all seven packs." Hayley said.
"Giving him a bite that not even I can cure." Klaus continues.
"There were two vials of serum and he only drank one. Maybe it's because the spell will wear off eventually and he'll need another dose." Freya said.
"Or he made enough for two." Nik said.
"Aurora." Elijah said but Klaus shook his head.
"I spoke with Marcel and he went down there tonight and she was still in her personal tomb." Nik said.
"So who is the other person Lucien is giving the vial to?" Freya asked.
Hayley looked around the room. "Where is Nix anyway? I didn't see her in the kids room and Angel looked like she went to sleep crying her eyes out." Hayley asked them all.
Everyone went on alert and ran into the kids room. They all indeed saw Angel with tears still falling from her eyes as she sleeps.
Klaus saw something on the floor and bent down to pick it up. He immediately notice the engagement ring he gave to Phoenix that was now in his hands it he was slowly starting to get angry. "Lucien was here."
(The amount of times I made Phoenix get kidnapped is crazy 😜. )

She will have no choice but to resort to her wits, make unexpected allies, and navigate her way through unforgiving lands in order to survive. Will she be up to the task? Greetings, reader! First of all, thank you for taking an interest and read my story. This is a story I've been working through all my life. But since I'm a first-time writer, I wanted to start with something small. This is just a small part of something much greater that hopefully one day I'll be able to translate into words as well. I will try to make it interesting as possible but please bear with me. Please understand that English is not my native language, I worked really hard to write in English the best I could. So please if you find any typos and grammar errors let me know. I'll try to upload new chapters as soon as I can. Although I had originally planned to deliver a chapter a MONTH, I think the real estimate would be a chapter EVERY 3 MONTHS since I also have to earn the daily bread. Cover picture made by me. The background picture is from Google but I modified it enough from the original. The story is also available on Wattpad, Inkitt, Scribblehub, and Webnovel.
