《Home | The Originals》Chapter 94: I am Ahana

(Anyone else think of the word "Ohana" from Lilo & Stitch?)
I gasped awake and I look around to see I'm still in the church. I look to my left and saw Hayley and Klaus were with me as well. "Now can I be angry at them?" He asked sarcastically.
I stood up and looked at my surroundings. I'm in a blue light again but I don't know. This one feels peaceful. "Get angry later. We're here now. We may as well get some answers." Hayley said.
"I would also like to hurry this up though. The Ancestors don't really like me as
much. They don't particularly praise any witch that is more stronger than them." I said once we started walking down the aisle.
"So we are to wander around this dreary purgatory in search of the lost souls?" Nik asked.
The lights start to flicker on and off before they just go out completely. We turned around to the sound of boots stomping on the wooden floor heading our way.
"I wasn't sure you were gonna show up." A familiar voice said as they walk through the open doors of the church.
"Well, I'm full of surprises. I hope you intend to make our trip worth the effort." Nik said.
The person stopped in front of us once Nik finished talking. She had brown hair that was poking out from the hood she was wearing over her face. She pulls back her hood and a gasp escape my mouth.
"As a matter of fact, I do. And you are gonna listen to every single word I have to say, because right now, I'm the only thing standing between you and the Hollow."
"I missed you Davina." I said as I walk towards her and pull her into a hug.
She hugged me back and said, "I miss you too, Nix." Before we pulled away from each other and I stood back on Klaus and Hayley side. She looked at Klaus. "How is Kol? Cant see anything here except New Orleans." She asked Nik.
"I believe he's currently traipsing through the French Riviera, though I'm sure he'll return once we tell him that we are able to bring you back to the land of the living, but death becomes you." Nik answered.
I look at him angrily before I slapped the back of his head. He groans out in pain as he rubs the spot I hit him in. "Shut the bloody hell up. She is going to be family." I lecture him.
"I'll gladly accept her in our family once she tells us something that could be of help, because, as I recall, when Lucien killed her sending her to this drab shadowland, her brethren wanted to tear her apart." He said.
"You want to defeat the Hollow. So do I. So do the Ancestors. But first you need to know what you're up against. It begins a thousand years before the city was founded. Two rival tribes decided to combine their power. They thought that by uniting in peace, they would enter a new age of harmony. A marriage was arranged. Two powerful witches joined together to create a unified coven." Davina explained.
"A ceremonial wedding. Like the one Jack and I had to unite our packs." Hayley said softly as she reminds herself of her loss of her ex husband.
"Let me guess. Something went wrong." Nik said.
"That marriage bore a child. For nine months, the tribe elders visited the mother, using magic to grant the child great power in hopes that the newborn would become a symbol of prosperity. But they had no idea what they were bringing into the world. The wife ended up giving birth to twin girls. One was named Inadu, and the other, Ahana. Soon it was clear that they were stronger than anyone could imagine. Inadu had a terrible hunger for more power still. Ahana was the same except she was able to control that side of her for the sake of family. And that's how the Hollow was born." Davina said.

"Well, this is all frightening fodder for campfire tales, but how do we kill her?" Nik asked.
"You don't understand. You can't. The only person that is able to kill her is her Ahana."
"Why bring us here if this thing can't be destroyed? Why tell us all of this?" Hayley asked as she paces around.
"The Ancestors needed you to know." Davina answered.
"Please inform the Ancestors that they're a colossal waste of my time. I've been alive a thousand years. I've never met anything I couldn't kill. We will defeat this pathetic phantom, as well." Klaus said.
"It's the tribe's fault for making her so bloody powerful. How come her family never stopped her?" I asked.
"You don't think they tried? All they wanted was to undue what their magic did. But that was the beginning of the end. Over time, Inadu grew and craved more power. She channeled life in all its forms. Her hunger was insatiable. She loved the fear she inspired in others. Her people knew her as ruthless, unfeeling, empty. Until that became her defining quality. So they began to refer to her by that single trait— the Hollow." Davina said.
"She killed them all." Hayley stated.
"Not because they hurt her or were unkind. She did it for fun." Davina said.
"Well, to be fair, we all have our bad days." Nik said and I rolled my eyes.
"What happened to Ahana? Where was she in all of this?" I asked.
"Ahana was taken away after Inadu tried to kill her and take her power. She figured out that Ahana was destined to be the great powerful that would save the world and is her only enemy that is able to put her down for good. Ahana was given to a different tried that was nearby and was heavily hidden. No one heard of her or the tribe ever since a plague wiped them all out completely." Davina said and I scrunch my face up in confusion. My tribe was wiped out by a plague.
"Could you get to the bit of the story that might be of some use." Nik asked impatiently.
"You want to defeat the Hollow? She only has two weaknesses." Davina said as she walked closer to Klaus past both me and Hayley.
"You have my undivided attention. What is it?" Klaus demanded.
Davina looked over her shoulder. "You." She said to Hayley before turning to me. "And you. You both are the only chance we have."
Me and Hayley looked at each other confused. "What the hell does that mean?" Nik asked.
"I'm done talking to you." Davina said. She grabbed Hayley's arm and they both disappeared together.
"Well this is one way for us to be alone together for good." I said as I stare at the empty space that Davina and Hayley once stood.
~~~
I sensed someone behind me and I turn around to see Davina was back with us except Hayley didn't come with her. "What have you done with Hayley?" Nik asked her as soon as his eyes fell on Davina.
"I sent her to save us all." Davina said.
"Really? Or is this your idea of revenge? Holding me and Phoenix captive here?" He asked as he points behind him to gesture to our unconscious bodies.
Davina turned to face us. "I don't care about revenge. I'm a New Orleans witch and I will protect my home. Not just for me but for your children, too." She said.
"Then release us." Nik demanded.
"No. I need you here. You see, we have the same problem that the tribes did. After the tribe killed Inadu, her spirit became more powerful. She haunted them." Davina spoke as she walks closer to us.
"The blue lights." Klaus stated.
"Yes." Davina her head to confirm Klaus theory. "So they burned her remains, but not all the pieces could be destroyed. As long as those pieces were together, her power only grew. The indestructible bones were distributed among four families each charged with keeping the bones apart, so that they would never come together again. Now that she's free, she won't stop until those pieces are gathered." Davina said.
"Well, then put her back in the prison that held her for the last eon." Klaus stated.
"I will. And that's what you're here for." Davina said as she turns back around.
"So you channel my power and you imprison the Hollow. And how long, exactly, am I to play battery?" Nik asked. I watch as Davina's composure changes as if there was something she had left out.
She scoffs before she turned to face Klaus. "You still don't get it, do you, Klaus? You're not a battery. You're a sacrifice." She said.
"Are you kidding me, Davina? Every time there is a big spell that is happening, you always try to throw Klaus under the bus and make it as some excuse to save every. Like you bringing Mikael back or trying to destroy his side line, but now this? You say you love Kol but yet your hell bent on killing his brother that has bend over backwards to make sure his family stayed alive for the past thousand years. You're starting to become more like Finn if I'm being honest." I really wish I didn't pull the Kol card but I've had enough of her trying to kill my fiancé.
"I'm doing this so everyone can be safe. Our lives would be better without Klaus here." She said.
"Our lives would have been amazing if you witches would stop provoking him and his family." I stated and she didn't respond because in reality, she knows I'm right.
"It's adorable you think you're able to end my life, but you lack the means, sweetheart." Nik said.
"The Hollow created the means. Thorns from a rosebush grown from Marcel's blood. That's all I need." My face dropped. "And I already sent the Harvest Girls to go get some. When they return, your time is up." Davina said.
"So to cage the Hollow, you need to kill me? It's a bit convenient, isn't it?" Nik asked sarcastically.
"I helped break the link to the Ancestors, which is how the Hollow escaped. If you have to blame someone, blame me, I don't care. You're going to die a slow, painful death." Davina said.
"But that's not all isn't it?" I asked her and she looked at me. "We can find Ahana and get her to kill her sister."
"Ahana has been dead for a thousand years. The plague took her out so this is our only chance." Davina stated.
Even though she is dead right now, I can tell that was a lie. "Your lying, she's still alive isn't she?" I questioned her and I can see a hint of fear in her eyes. "And what a coincidence too right, because my family and tribe died from a plague as well and I was born here in New Orleans before it got its name. And that makes me Ahana, doesn't it? Which also means that I am Inadu's twin sister."
"I'm sorry, you were never meant to learn that. And because of that, I have to now put you both down." Davina lifted her hand up and me and Nik started to choke on nothing.
~~~
Angel, Hope, Maddox, Eric, Nicholas, Hunter, Dove, and Henrik were all reading a book together when they heard someone whispering in their heads.
"Davina, don't." They all heard their dad's voice and then they heard, "Davina, let us go, please!" Right after. It was the voice of their mother.
"She's killing our parents." Dove said.
Hope took her bracket off her worst and got up from her bed. "Let's go save them." She said and they all left the Compound to head to St. Anne's Church.
~~~
Hayley and Marcel walked back into the Church and took slow and steady steps down the aisle. "Davina." Marcel called out for the ghost. They reach the circle where Klaus and Phoenix were still laying inside of unconscious.
Davina appeared in the circle in front of the knocked out immortals. "Don't try to stop me, Marcel. If I don't kill Klaus, if I don't put down the Hollow, she'll come for all of you. She'll burn the entire city." Davina said determined to get Marcel to see it her way.
Hayley having enough of this tried to walk up to her. "Davina please." She said as Marcel held his arm out in front of her, stopping her from moving closer.
"D. There's got to be another way." Marcel said as he inches closer to her.
"We can try and find Inadu's sister, Ahana. The one who was sent to another tribe nearby but it was killed by a plague." Hayley said until something clicked inside her head. "Wait a minute. Wasn't Phoenix family killed my a plague?" She asked.
Marcel looked back at Hayley catching on to what she is saying. "Yeah, and that was dated back a thousand years ago. The same time Inadu was born." Marcel said and he figured out who Phoenix really was.
"So, that means, Phoenix is actually Ahana and she is powerful enough to kill the Hollow." Hayley said.
"No. She won't be able to kill her because that's her family, so we're doing it my way. I was just waiting for the weapon, but now that you're here," Davina raises her hand at Marcel, "I'm sorry." Her magic made Marcel come inside the circle with her. "You need to kill him." She stated.
Marcel shook his head. "No, Davina." Marcel denied.
"He's lived ten lifetimes, that's more than enough." Davina rebuttal.
"No." Hayley walked to the circle but is unable to get inside it. "He is a father to me and Phoenix's kids." She pleaded.
"She'll still have you and Phoenix as a mother. They can have just one parent. But if we don't stop the Hollow, then all of your kids will die." Davina stated. She looked towards Marcel. "You can save them, Marcel. And everyone in New Orleans." Davina said trying to persuade him to see the greater good.
"Stop this." Having heard everything that was going on, Elijah finally came inside and walked down the aisle towards them. "This is about your grievances with me."
"This has nothing to do with you." Davina said with a bit of venom in her voice. "This is about a sacrifice. One death for the greater good." She said.
"Then take me." Elijah said once he stood in front of her.
Hayley wasn't happy with that. Not wanting her lover to sacrifice himself. "Elijah, no." She tried to touch him but he moved his arm away.
"No. If indeed there is no other way then end this now." Elijah spoke, readying himself so he can save his brother and that his kids can have a father figure in their life.
Marcel wasn't happy with how this was going. "No. No. No, nobody's dying today." He clarified.
"Then I'll do it myself." Davina had enough and was tired of trying to persuade them to her side.
Davina used her magic to force Marcel on his knees. She made him pull his fangs out, then had him on his hands. The venom coming out of Marcel's mouth dripped on the floor and they started to sizzle as they make contact.
When there was enough venom, Davina made it slowly move towards Klaus unconscious hand. "You don't have to do this." Hayley said as her and Elijah continue to watch from outside the circle.
"I'm sorry, but it's the only way." Davina said. She continues to move the venom closer to Klaus and magically made a open cut appear on the side of his hand.
"Stop!" Davina, Elijah, and Hayley looked back towards the new voice that entered and saw all the kids standing there. "You promised to help." Angel said.
"But, you're not helping at all." Maddox said. Him and the rest of his siblings looked at each other.
"It's time for you to leave." They all said at once. They put their fist out in the air and suddenly a huge gust of wind came through the church. The benches were pushed forward and the salt from the circle was disappearing. Once Davina was gone they put their fist down and stood their looking past Hayley and Elijah.
~~~
I flutter my eyes open and see Nik blink before looking at me. We sat up slowly and we turn our heads to the eight kids running our way. They all tackle us in a hug.
~~~
I was walking to the kids room when I stopped at the doorway. Klaus was in their with the kids all around him. "I hope you understand that coming to the church was very dangerous of you guys, but also very brave. I am very proud of you guys." He said making them all smile.
"Family protect each other." Eric said.
"No matter what." Nicholas added. Klaus smiled at the two before kissing all their heads and wishing them a good night.
After he closed the door he came up to me and kissed me deeply. We were just making out on the wall when the door suddenly opens and we pulled away to see Hope and Angel coming out of the room.
"What's wrong?" I asked them.
They looked at each other before Angel decided to speak. "We just want to clarify that you are the best parents in the world." Angel looked up at Nik. "You are the best dad in the world and I am happy that you are my dad." She said and he bends down to hug her.
Hope came up to me. "You are like a mom to me as well. I'm also glad that I now have two mom's and a dad in my life." I was full blown crying as she talked and I quickly pulled her into a hug once she finished.
"You're a daughter to me as well and I am so glad you are here." I whispered to her. I kissed her head then stood back up. "Now it's time for bed. We'll be here tomorrow." I said and they hugged our legs before going back to their room.
As me and Nik walked to our room he suddenly spoke up. "Alaric came to me about something. Said him and Caroline were building a school for the supernatural. Where kids won't be afraid to show their true self. He recommended it for our kids."
"That sounds like a good idea. They can get out more and meet new people, make friends, I can finally have my daughters come to me about boys and whatnots." I said already agreeing with this.
"The school I can agree on. But I was serious when I said if the suitors don't meet my expectations then I will compel them to priesthood." Nik said.
I laugh at this. "Your delusional if you think I'll let you scar every boy from talking to our daughters." I said as he opens the door for me.
"I will not allow a single boy to break my daughters hearts. They'll be 118 years old before they can start dating." He said.
I roll my eyes at that. "I'm more worried about all the heartbroken girls our sons will cause." I said.
"It won't be my sons fault for broken hearts, no one told them to fall in love so quickly." Nik said.
I looked at him with a smirk on my face. "Of really. So explain how I met you when you came to New Orleans and then in the mist of Hayley being pregnant, me and you were already courting one another." I stated and I can tell he lost this argument.
I smile in victory. "Night, love." I said. He grumbles something out as he pulls me towards him and we fell asleep next to each other.
(A/N: if there's any mistake let me know. Despite this being a part two of episode 8 of The Originals, I manage to write 3000+ words. My fingers hurt)
