《Home | The Originals》Chapter 105: Where it all Started

"At the Salvatore School for the Young and Gifted, we are big on spirit. Education is our first priority, obviously. We've sent students to the Ivy League, to Silicon Valley. Of course, if you're looking for a more unique course of study, I assure you, we are unmatched. We believe in inclusive blending of the species here. So, outside of full moons, vampires witches, werewolves, Demons, Angels, and Sirens all cohabitate peacefully." Caroline gave a whole speech to new students.
Me and Klaus was right behind her as kids all around us run around doing something and witches studying spells at tables. "Where do you keep the hybrids?" Nik asked out loud gaining her attention. "In the root cellar?"
"Excuse me. I just need one minute with this very lost new janitor and our lunch lady." Caroline says and then she guided us to her office. Once she closed the door she walked to her desk. "Seriously? You're not exactly a selling point for this place."
She snatched the name tag from Klaus and out it back on her desk.
"Oh, because these kids have so many other options." Klaus says.
"I thought we made a deal about you showing up in Mystic Falls." Caroline reminded him.
"That was a long time ago." He defended.
I roll my eyes and stepped forward. "We need your help, Caroline. Our kids are dying. They all consumed my sister's dark magic and now it's killing them from the inside out. They won't survive tonight's full moon." I explained to her.
"They triggered their curse?" Caroline asked.
We nodded our heads. "It's our fault."
"Uh, I thought that the Crescent wolves could control their transformations." Caroline stated.
"Not the first one. It's a rite of passage. Unavoidable. As for the other seven it was just dormant until now." Nik says.
"Well, what do you need from me?" She asked.
"I heard you gave birth to some unique witches... Gemini witches." I specified and she understood what I was thinking.
"You can't be serious."
"I need your daughters, Caroline."
She shook her head. "No. No, absolutely not. They're-they're just children."
"They are siphoner witches without their own magic. It's what they were made to do, siphon magic from person A and —" I spoke but then she cut me off.
"And put it in Person B. So, after they siphon it from the kids, what are they supposed to do with it? You can't just shove a demon in a jar and put it on a shelf." She says.
"They'll put it in us." I said.
Caroline scoffs at that. "That's great. And then you can practice mindful meditation while we just cross our fingers and hope that you don't develop some sort of temper. Oh, wait."
"Caroline these are my babies, my pride and joy, you don't understand the feeling of your kid possibly dying and not having the power to do anything to stop it. I won't go through this again." My voice cracked.
Klaus walked over to us. "Do you remember when you and your friends threatened to chain me up, drown me in cement and drop me in the deepest ocean? Well, when your daughters put the magic in us, I need you to make good on that threat. I won't fight you this time." He says.

"No, I was just a kid back then. I didn't know...that was a long time ago." She says.
"I can't allow my kids to die. They deserve a far better life than the ones we had. But I promise you? I will not endanger yours. Caroline, please. Caroline. I'm begging you."
~~~
Caroline brought us and her twin daughters to a abandoned looking cabin in the woods. "What do we get if we say yes?" Her brunette daughter, Josie asked Caroline.
"The warm feeling in your heart that comes from helping a friend in need." Caroline says happily.
"Well, we are in need of new cell phones." Lizzie her Blonde twin suggested.
"And permission to go to the senior solstice dance. And, you and Dad take the skirt-length rules out of the dress code. It's anti-feminist and oppressive." Josie argued.
"And not cute." Lizzie adds.
Caroline stared appalled at her daughters. "No to the phones. Maybe to the dance. And yes to defying the patriarchy one plaid skirt at a time." Caroline bargained and Josie smiled. "Deal?"
The twins looked at each other before looking back. "Deal." Josie ageeed.
"Now Mr. and Mrs. Mikaelson are going to explain exactly what he needs you to do. Very clearly and kindly, without even a hint of a temper or frustration." Caroline gave us the floor.
"First of all, thank you." Nik said.
I hear a stick snap and a whoosh of air heading towards us and I quickly with my reflexes grab the stake heading straight for Klaus heart. I snap the stake in half and held this middle aged guy up against a wall.
"Dad?" Josie says and I let him go.
"You wanna tell me why you shot an arrow at my Fiancé?" I asked the man.
"Why the hell is Klaus here Caroline?" The man asked her ignoring me completely.
"They need our help to save their kids." She answers.
"And you couldn't bring in any other witch in this school, or perhaps Bonnie?" He suggested.
I lean towards Nik. "Who is he?" I asked.
"Alaric Saltzman. A human, turned to a Original Vampire Hunter by my mother, and is now Human again. Also the father of the twins." He explained to me.
I nodded my head in understanding. "Bonnie doesn't have the power to do what they can. And trust me they're are willing to rot at the bottom of the ocean for this." Caroline reasoned.
"How do you even know that an ocean would even keep them down?" Alaric rebuttals.
"You're right." I butted in. "An ocean won't hold us down but there is something else that will." Me and Nik both pulled out two different stakes. His was a the White Oak and mine is the Three Kings wood. "When the Hollow's magic is out of our kids we don't intend to just drown."
"What is that?" Caroline asked.
"This my hands is the last White Oak stake." Nik answers.
"And this is called Pennantia Baylisiana, or commonly known as the Three Kings very rare and very extinct wood. Well, until after I put it in my heart at least. When the power is in us, they're only one way to make sure it's gone for good. Me and Klaus are going to kill each other together." We revealed our plans to Caroline
(I don't know if I mentioned it before about what could kill her but if I'm changing it)
A couple minutes later my kids had ran towards me carrying Hope. "Hope?" I called out and me and Klaus vamped down to the bottom floor to see what was wrong. "Hope!" I yell as they set her body on the ground. Klaus immediately started to pump her chest to bring back air. Nothing was happening for a couple minutes but she finally gasped back to life.
"Hope! Hope, are you okay? Is everything alright?" Me and Klaus spoke over each other as we look her over.
"Dad, Nix, I don't wanna die, I don't wanna die. Don't let us die, please." Hope ranted.
We pulled her into our arms and I held my arm out for the rest of the kids to get in. "We know, you guys are not going to die. We found a way to save your lives. Okay, everything is going to be better in the morning. I promise you." I say to them.
~~~
Me and the family were walking around town as there was some sort of event going on tonight. Slow blue music was softly played out around us with people dancing. We told the kids half of our plans for tonight.
"Look, I know it's not an ideal evening, but the timing is right. Once you guys are mid-transformation, the Saltzman girls will be able to siphon the magic out of all of you." Klaus told them.
"Are you sure about this?" Angel asked him.
Nik stopped to look at her. "Yeah. Your mother and I will make sure to dispose the magic later. Tonight, is about you lot."
I see all of them stare at the dance floor looking at another group of kids. "We'll be right back." Dove says and they all went towards them and danced together.
They were having fun. At least it was something that they could all have before tonight. I look up at Nik and see him staring hateful at the boys that were dancing with Angel, Hope, and Dove. "You are such a Dad." I joke with a smile.
"If I was such a Dad I would have dragged them kicking and screaming back to New Orleans." He defended himself.
"Okay." I laughed because I know it was something that he would have done if we had different circumstances.
"I'm more worried about the girls our sons will be bringing back. They all have my dashing good looking genes." He says.
"Shut up." I laughed and kicked the back of his knee out. He got back up and did the same to me and we just laugh together. The bell in the distance started ringing and our smiles disappeared. "It's time." He says.
I look back at the kids that were still dancing and laughing. "I'm going to miss all the good stuff. Even though I misssd majority of it in a box for 7 years, but still. I won't be able to talk about boys or girls with them, life, or even taxes even though we are insanely rich." I cried.
"They'll figure it out. They have each other." Nik says.
~~~
After five minutes we had came back in the woods and we all stood outside Uber the moonlight. "Here you go. You all drink this." I had them each a bottle pink liquid and they all took it a swallowed it all. After they were done they fell down as the bones in their foot breaks. "It's starting." I speak out loud.
Klaus squared down to their levels. "Kids listen to me. This is going to hurt. So you need to concentrate on the air in your lungs, and the ground beneath you." He says.
The bones in their arms are now breaking. "Ah! Dad!" Angel whined.
"The first time, it can take hours." He continues.
"Hours?" Henrik repeated shocked.
"If you fight it. The pain will make you want to delay it because you think that's all you can take. But if you let it in, if you allow it yo swallow you whole, then it cannot break you."
Nicholas looked around him and his siblings before looking back at Klaus. "Yeah, we can do this."
"When you're done, you guys run wild and free. We are so proud of you guys." He says and he stepped back as their back broke.
Their shot up and I can see their glowing werewolf eyes staring at me. Their hands shifted and grew hair and I see a faint blue light coming from them. Suddenly they were lifted in the air, hanging from their chest as the Hollow's magic shoots out from them. They were then dropped to the ground and finally transformed I to a wolf. The girls were a beautiful Snow White wolf while my boys were a shadowy black. They then turned around and ran off.
~~~
We went to the cabin where the Saltzman girls were doing magic and Alaric was there watching them. "Where's Caroline?" Nik asked him.
"Well, she's a vampire, and there's a group of baby werewolves roaming the woods. She just, she just couldn't watch you die." He answered.
Klaus left it at that and we walked into the circle of salt. The Hollow was in the center glowing blue. Once we stood underneath it. It struck us in our chest and we screamed in pain. Finally it stopped and we dropped to our knees.
We grabbed each other hands and stood back up. "You ready?" He asked me and I nodded my head yes.
He gave me the White Oak I traded it with my Kings stake. We held it against our hearts and stared at each other.
"Dad? Mom?" Before we could stake each other our kids interrupted us causing us the pause. Angel was the first to notice what was happening. "What are you doing?" She asked us.
Maddox looked down at the circle of salt. "They put the Hollow into you guys? But you both told us that they put it into something safe, and instead, you use our first transition to trick us." He says.
"So what happens, you two were just going to kill yourself and the magic goes away?" Hunter asked upset.
"I don't need your permission on whether or not I want to end my life. We've made our decision." I said not backing down.
"And we've made ours." Eric says and he held his hand up. Me and Nik groaned in pain but it was short lived before we passed out.

They must carve out a new home for themselves in the landscape of the now rapidly changing world. They'll need to depend on each other more than ever if they hope for their new home to have any kind of future. In case you missed it, here's book one. ATTENTION: This is soft sci-fi rather than hard sci-fi, hence why I chose that tag. For those of you unfamiliar with the distinction, here's what Wikipedia had to say. 1. It explores the "soft" sciences, and especially the social sciences (for example, anthropology, sociology, or psychology), rather than engineering or the "hard" sciences (for example, physics, astronomy, or chemistry). 2. It is not scientifically accurate or plausible; the opposite of hard science fiction. Soft science fiction of either type is often more concerned with character and speculative societies, rather than speculative science or engineering. The term first appeared in the late 1970s and is attributed to Australian literary scholar Peter Nicholls.
