I promised myself that I wouldn't meet him, then why am I here?
I look at the time at my phone, which shows 5:10.
I have the 5 minutes to make the run. Should I?
"Hey. Thanks for coming,"
"No problem"
Silence.
"So how are you, Minah?"
"I am good, Moonbin," I reply back as I stare into his eyes. His eyes which show a mixture of emotions.
"Want to go somewhere quiet?"
"Sure"
Then we headed out into the streets as I follow him from the behind. He was still the same. The same eyes, the same style, everything was the same, except his smile. His smile shows me a hint of sadness that he is suffering.
"So how are you and Rocky?"
"Good. We are dating now."
"Yeah. I know, I saw you guys holding hands," he whispered.
His hands were inside his pocket. His black hair which has overgrown and covered some parts of his eyes. His eyes which tried to smile but failed. And I can't help but feel that he is hiding something from me.
"Why did you call me?" I asked after a while of silence.
He stopped in his track. Then turns to look at me, "What about that coffee shop? I heard it's really good" he says as he ignores my question.
I nodded. And he smiles. A smile which has been forced to laugh.
Once he pushes open the door, he holds the door out for me. The smell of warmth hits me as I enjoy the coffee smell. The buns which have been freshly baked and a background music which makes your feel comfortable and at home. And then we took our seat. And waited for a waiter to come over to take our order. In that moment my phone started to vibrate.

It was Rocky.
As I open the message, the guiltiness of meeting Moonbin without telling Rocky first got me.
I hesitated to answer it. Why didn't I tell him? Maybe he would have understood! Why did I do that?
"Is it Rocky?" asked Moonbin causing me to snap out of my thoughts.
I nodded. and quickly replied back.
"You didn't tell him, that you were coming to meet me?"
I nodded as a sign of yes.
"You should have told him about it. He is going to upset when he hears you meeting me, without telling him. If you were my girlfriend, I would have..."
"Just tell me why did you call me or is it to waste my-"
"I'm dying."
I stopped at my spot. What is he saying?
"What do you mean?" I asked as hesitation shook my voice, maybe, I didn't want to hear it. Just maybe.
"I'm dying. Minhae. I am dying." He says as he looks up into my eyes and smiles. A downcast smile.

Dead Circus
Sylas never knew he was a Cambion, a being with supernatural abilities called Arma. Society discarded him out of fear and subjugated him out of jealousy. Now, Sylas has joined Dead Circus, a group bent on achieving equality for Cambions, no matter the cost. Sylas has been given a chance to fight the injustice present in the city-state of Concordia, and fix society for everyone to live free of chains and tyranny. However, there are those who would rather see it all burn down so they can start over from the ashes. Who decides what is right and wrong? Who decides what freedom costs? At the end, who will stay true to their virtues and who will be swallowed whole by the jowls of a twisted society? --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dead Circus is an original dystopian light novel heavily inspired by Japanese light novel style storytelling, character design and world building. My hope is that every chapter will include a few full illustrations to use as supplementary material to the chapter itself. Dead Circus will contain mature themes and some uncomfortable topics. Any chapters containing these types of themes will be noted before the chapter begins. All art associated with Dead Circus, including the cover art is made by me. Fanart or any artist collaborations for the chapter release will be tagged with the respective creators. Dead Circus is divided into volumes and will release weekly with small gaps in between the ends of volumes. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I deeply appreciate your taking the time to read both this description and my work and I look forward to any and all feedback I receive. -Branime

The Hunt
Cecily's blade swung, hitting its mark as always. The man's arm fell to the cold grass of the prison with a familiar thud. He let out a blood curdling scream. A warning to the rest. Stay away, the Hunter is here. That's the name they'd given her, the Hunter. After she cut off the man who tried to rape hers masculinity, they stayed away. She'd made it clear anyone who tried to touch her would be hunted and slaughtered. Cecily kneeled down, pushing the man's face into the dirt so she could use his back as a seat while she trifled through his belongings. "You're hurting my ears," she told him, no remorse in her voice. "Quiet down before I really do kill you."The man but his lip, well aware that she wasn't lying. Sobs shook him, making for an uncomfortable seat. She, however, didn't particularly feel the beed to kill him. It happened, not often, but it did. "Oh, hush up," she hissed, taking out a bag of rations with her metal hand, "it doesn't hurt that bad."With her good, human hand, she dropped the plastic bag of food into her own bag. She pushed up, off the man back. As she was about to walk away, bag slung over her shoulder, brushing against her autumn colored braid, she turned back to him. "Consider yourself lucky," she said, no hatred in her voice, there never was. "Consider yourself lucky that you didn't do anything stupid. And even luckier if one of the scum bagged criminals in here feel a little light in their hearts and help you. Consider yourself luckier if you die there."With that, her old black and white Nike sneakers carried her off into the brush of the huge prison.
