《Law of God (Book 1)》two

Jacob had come into the classroom along with David, and Izza. They were all three talking about how excited they were for Bethany Jade's birthday celebration. "I didn't think she would invite us," Izza said, sitting down at her desk. Jacob and David explained how Bethany never really liked them all.
I guess she had a change of heart. Even Bethany was dating the most popular guy at their high school. His name is Connor Foster. Jacob didn't think it was a good idea to go to the party. Izza sighed, "You promised to go with us." Izza said. Jacob had grown up with rules ever since he was a young teenager.
I even had set out rules for my own home. Jacob sometimes doesn't like to follow them. But Jacob knows better when it comes to drinking alcohol. I mean it's a sign that he's under peer pressure. Izza and David are literally putting Jacob in a bad situation.
Until Jacob agreed to go. Class then started, and Jacob and David headed to their desks. Izza had always liked sitting in the front row. I had always believed that Izza and David were gonna be a bad influence on Jacob.
I went inside my office and was assigned a case by Judge Judith. She explains to he that it was based on a fourteen year old girl who was born with a rare genetic disorder, but was raped by a man who she was friends with before, and her mother is not talking anymore without a lawyer present.
I sighed, "Well my day just got great, didn't it?" I asked, chuckling. "Yeah, but that's not the only thing. This young girl was also tortured, and her name is Sarah Grace, as by the way her mother only calls her Sarah, and her father is no longer in the family.

Mom says her husband left her after finding out that their daughter was gonna be born disabled." I understood, shaking my head. "Mom is in the interrogation room." I thanked Judge Judith, with a soft smile. Judge Judith sighed, "Now if you'll excuse me, I have another trial to go to right now." Judge Judith said, walking out of my office.
I cleared my throat and had already gone straight to the interrogation room to see Sarah's mother, Mrs. Jade.
"I know that my husband did this, he left me alone so I had to raise my daughter on my own." Mrs. Jade said.
I understood, shaking my head. Until one of the detectives who I am enemies with, is Detective Sailor questioning my own client. Sarah was being interviewed in the playroom while Detective Henderson was just playing with her.
"I hated Jimmy, I always knew he was gonna leave me for someone else, and not having the nerve to take care of me or Sarah." I sighed, just listening to Mrs. Jade, and Detective Sailor continued to question. "You don't have to answer that," I said to Mrs. Jade.
Mrs. Jade sighed, until I noticed Detective Sailor giving me an upset look. Jacob came out of the cafeteria a few hours later along with Izza and David. Other students came walking behind them, and Jacob, David and Izza were the first ones to come out.
I sighed, walking my way out of the interrogation room. Detective Sailor was waiting for me to come out. "What the heck are you doing?" Detective Sailor asked. Before I continued to walk away, I turned.
"You are making me look like the bad cop in there, what are you trying to prove by not making Mrs. Jade answered my questions," Detective Sailor said, in an angry tone of his voice. "Well I am her lawyer and I have the right to tell her not to." Detective Sailor chuckled, laughing sarcastically.

"I understand that, but won't you be judging my every move, when I have a witness who has the right to answer my questions?."
I laughed sarcastically back at Detective Sailor, and I walked up to him. "I was doing my job," I answered back. "No, you do this every time I am trying to interview your clients." I sighed, crossing my arms. "Maybe because you ask inappropriate questions to my clients who you just make them uncomfortable.
If it's always gonna be that way, then maybe you don't deserve that badge," I said, before walking away again. Jacob then went to his last class of the day, which of course is quantum physics.
Izza then received a message from a person, she said to Jacob and David that the party starts at seven tonight. "Eeek," Izza said. I sighed, as I was on my way to another trial. I was tired of Detective Sailor always accusing my clients of something.
He blames Mrs. Jade for not doing a good job raising her daughter. I think I know what's best for Mrs. Jade.
"Mrs. Endedson, can you point out to the man who raped you?"
Mrs. Endedson points out to Mr. Jakeson. "He is the one who raped me, almost killed me to death." I understood, shaking my head. "Mrs. Endedson, did this man force you to have sex with him even before he raped you?" I asked. Mrs. Endedson sighed, shaking her head. "Yes, that's correct."
I swallowed and gulped as I walked up to the jury. I sighed, and continued to question Mrs. Endedson. "Did you ever wanted to have sex before?" I asked. "Objection, revilance," Mr. Georgie said. "Sustained." Judge Mathis said.
I sighed, walking up to Mr. Endedson. "No, I mean, yes with my husband, but I didn't want to do it with anyone else." I hmm at Mrs. Endedson, "No further questions." I said, walking back to my seat. Jacob had got into the bus, and Izza had to ride with her mom.
They both kissed one time on the lips before saying goodbye. David rides the bus with Jacob. They have been friends since ninth grade. David was new at Jacobs school. They would tell each other everything.
"Will the attendant please rise," Judge Mathis said. Mr. Jakeson stood up and Judge Mathis asked if the jury reached the verdict. "We have your honor." Judge Mathis, sighed. "On the count of rape, and murder, we find the defendant, guilty." I sighed, I then knew Mrs. Endedson got justice. I turned and Mrs. Endedson smiled at me, and we shook hands. She thanked me, and I chuckled.

The friends found themselves home in the real world, exactly as they'd been the night they were taken, as if no time had passed... except only three came back. Hi there! This was my entry for National Novel Writing Month, because why only write one series at a time? The more the merrier! (meanwhile, my keyboard bursts into flames...) I'm also the writer of The Last Science, an ongoing low-fantasy/speculative sci-fi series. If you're familiar with that, you know what to expect here: lots of character-focused drama and dialogue, not a whole lot of traditional action. However, I'm writing a bit differently than usual here, and in a very different structure, so there should be some surprises for returning readers. I hope you enjoy it! [Discord] — for those of you who want to hang out and chat. Cover art (fullsize): Path of Revelation, by taenaron (Tobias Roetsch), modified by Etzoli. Normally I like to do my own cover art from scratch, but I was in a rush for the contest. Might be replaced down the line if I get time. Right as Rage
Only 15 years have passed since the miscreant god, Villi, stole magic from the gods and gave it to mortals. In response the mortals seem to be doing their best to squander this gift. The Kingdom of Abrune regulates it, the church of the Sacred Hierarchies outright condemns it, but one 'wildman' from across the sea begins his journey after being cursed by it. Vakdragnar's curse manifests when he loses his temper. It has driven everyone he’s ever cared about away from him. Out of options and money, he travels to the city of Tirough and quickly finds himself on the wrong side of the law. He is persecuted despite his intentions to do good. How can you stand against evil if everyone you’re trying to protect thinks you’re the villain? And if this curse is truly a part of him now, what if they’re right? **************************************************************************************************** Right as Rage is a story I’ve been excited to write for some time now. I hope everyone is as excited to read it. This story is going to be told over several arcs, with each arc containing 7-12 chapters, and an interlude or two each. I plan on submitting new chapters once a week on Tuesday evenings.

Follow Brian and his newfound allies as they learn to become professional adventurers, complete contracts for the Guild, and maybe find a way home. To honor the source material's Dungeons and Dragons roots, I will be rolling dice throughout the development of this story. Everyone has a character sheet. From combat encounters to social interactions, everything that can be rolled will be rolled. See how a natural 1 can turn the tide of a battle, how a successful intimidation check can subvert a fight, or how deception can reveal critical info.
