While sitting in the middle of the interrogation room, Jacob was nervously awaiting for the detectives to come inside the room. I was praying the whole time I was waiting for Detective James and his partner Evan.
Jacob sighed, I was trying to calm him down. I was seriously worried for Jacob. Detective James then comes into the room. Detective Evan was behind him. "JSo are you gonna be speaking to us now, Jacob?" Detective James asked.
"Since my brother is here, yes." Detective Evan asked a question, wondering if I was a public attorney. "Yes, I am." Detective James didn't know I was an attorney until now.
"So Jacob, do you remember texting to David, he's what, your best friend?" Jacob frowned in confusion, "Um, we text like every single day."
I was listening to what Jacob was talking about as Detective James kept on talking to him about David. "I'm sorry, what does David have to do with this case?" I asked.
"Well, here shows pictures of the text message from Jacob to David, until he tells David to shut up or he'll get a weapon to kill him."
Jacob chuckled, "No, I didn't write that, somebody must have hacked into my phone and said that." I sighed, didn't know what to do, until Detective James continued to ask Jacob questions as my client.
"Jacob, who could have possibly hacked into your phone if you got it on lock or safety?" I sighed, "Okay, my client doesn't have to answer any more of your questions." Detective James sighed, understanding me.
Him and his partner Evan continued to force Jacob to answer more questions. "I said he doesn't have to answer any more of your questions," I said.
Detective James cleared his throat and explained to me that if I understood that a girl is murdered in cold blood, and that she's gone for life.

A girl who was murdered really bad and that Detective James just wants to know what happened. I explained to Detective James that I am Jacob's attorney and he will do what I have to say. Jacob sighed, and he looked at Detective James like he knew what I wanted.
Detective James understood once again, and he and Detective Evan stood up from their seats and they both left the interrogation room. I whispered to Jacob asking him what was going on, and Jacob just sighed, looking at me.
"You have to trust me that I would never threaten anyone, ever," Jacob said. I sighed, making sure that nobody heard us, or that Detective James was coming back inside the room.
"Okay, when they do come back in, you have to promise me that you will not say another word to them." Jacob sighed once again, he was scared.
"What if they force me again?" Jacob asked. "Not as long as I am in the room, I am your attorney and I have the right to tell them to not ask any more questions." Jacob shook his head yes, understanding what I was explaining to them.
"I just want you to know I wouldn't hurt anyone." I sighed, until Detective James and Evan came back inside the room once again.
"Jacob, can you tell me where you were the night of Izza's murder?"
Jacob looks at me sighing, "Don't look at him, look at me," Detective James said.
"I was at home, studying for an upcoming test."
Detective James sighed, leaning up against the interrogation table. He cleared his throat, and I just wiped my nose a little bit which was me just being nervous all over the place.
"So you were at the house, studying for your test, until you received a message from your girlfriend that she was in trouble, you didn't message anyone else to come with you, did you?"

"I just told my brother, but he was sleeping, and I didn't message anyone else, I just went alone."
"Okay," Detective James said. "Was this before or after you sent a threat to David?" Detective James asked.
"I told you, I didn't threaten anyone."
"Oh yeah, you got hacked, right. But I don't believe it."
Jacob sighed, leaning back in his chair. "It was just a threat, it's not like he would go after someone and murder anyone," I said." Really? Seems like to me, that Jacob would, because anyone who threatened someone, they would get all angry, violent, and then ...."
I interrupted Detective James, "Just because he threatened someone doesn't make him a murder," I said. "Oh I see, until you can explain to me that he sent this message five minutes later, saying, "I mean it, I will hurt you, I will kill you, you will regret it."
Jacob sighed, leaning up against the table, "I didn't threaten anyone, I told you before and I will tell you again, someone must have hacked into my phone and changed the messages. But I know it was not me."
Jacob was getting frustrated. I was, too. I thought the interview would go smoothly, but I was wrong. "Jacob, it has your name in the text messages," Detective James said.
"Yes, I know, but I swear I am telling you the truth!" I sighed, trying my hardest to fight for my own brother. "If you are, then just tell me right now." I looked over at Jacob.
"Did you kill Izza?" Detective James asked, "No! Why would I, I loved her!" Detective James chuckled, "Yeah, and it sounded like you hated her as well."
Jacob sighed, closing his eyes. "I didn't hurt her, you can keep in here as long as you want, but I know I am telling the truth."
"What was your relationship with Izza like?"
Jacob shrugged, "It was good."
"Just good? No problems with possibly David liking her back? You didn't get irrational or jealous?" Jacob was getting tired of explaining to Detective James that he would never hurt anyone.
I explained to Detective James that I had never seen Jacob lay a hand on Izza. I mean he's sweet, gentle and caring when it comes to Izza. He was always so good to her.
"Well unfortunately, David is in another interrogation room right now. He's being interviewed. And if you don't tell me what happened, I have no choice but to prosecute you."
"If he's saying he didn't do it, he didn't do it," I said, annoyingly.
"Mr. Morgan, I am sorry but I'm just doing my job. You can either leave the room, or I can take you out myself."
"Was that a threat?" I asked.
"No, it's called the state of law."
I chuckled laughing, "And I am an attorney, you have no right to speak to me that way. I don't care if we have been friends for a long time, but I seem to find you very inappropriate at the moment."
"Fine, you leave me no choice."
"Fine!" Jacob said.
"Tell me why Izza was texting you that night and you threaten David."
"Fine!" Jacob said. We all looked over at Jacob. "I will tell you what happened, but it's not the reason you think," Jacob swallowed hard. We all just listened to what Jacob had to say.

A potent tale of self-discovery. Centuries ago, the prophetic Golden Age ended in war, and history spiraled into darkness... Now, only scholars retain the last portent of the mythic city A'lara, concealed in a distant glade for the advent of the dragon mage. At the edge of the Known World, the slave Larin escapes her new lord before she meets his dark masters. Deep in the mountains, the legendary elf Kingard awaits his call to battle. When young Darek flees imperial mages tasked to exterminate shape-shifters, he launches them all on a voyage to redeem their unsought destiny. United by fate and guided by prophesy, their growing band of fugitives journey for A'lara to fight the ancient evil infiltrating the capital. But looming over the gears of fate, their enemies follow the same prophesies. With the unknown close upon them, Kingard and his allies face a mortal quest to restore their infected empire. Praise for Awakening: If you love Anne McCaffrey, J.R.R. Tolkien and Tad Williams, then Awakening is a novel you will surely want to pick up. D.N.Frost is a consummate world-builder with a knack for creating characters that are complex and three-dimensional. Frost writes with graceful prose that is descriptive and well-edited. The plot is fast-paced and entertaining. What really sets this novel apart is the cartography, which is a spectacular accomplishment. Incredible world-building! - M.L. Demon Hunters
Far in the future, the last two viable cities in the western hemisphere – Technoburbia and New Baravia – struggle for control over a vast and largely desolate land. Officially they are at war. In practice, the war has been a stalemate for a generation, the disputed frontier between the two city-states never moving. In the city of New Baravia itself, a vast circular concrete wall keeps its inhabitants in, and its refugees out. For its citizens, life is monotonous and unequal, with enormous wealth in the hands of nobles, criminal gangs, and entertainment bosses. It is the last of these that control the hit entertainment show, “Demon Hunters”. A chance, perhaps, for the ordinary man or woman to rise up, and change their fate... This LitRPG novella is based around a futuristic battle-royale situation, partly set in VR, and partly in a post-apocalyptic city. The story features combat and action, some strong language, and lots of great characters that will stick with you! [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]
