Fils de pute!
I purposely insulted my wife in a way that I knew would've hurt her. I know she went into the bathroom to sob her miseries away - I heard when she turned the shower on. When she came back out, I entered the restroom and saw the red lingerie that she had been wearing, thrown in the trash bin.
I wanted to ask her this morning why she had tossed it away but I knew she'd just saying something around the lines of it not being needed in his household.
Since she woke up, she's been giving me the silent treatment. I deserve it for being an ass but she could at least speak to me. Even if it's for something unimportant. I hop in the shower quickly and when I get out, I search for her.
She's sitting on a chair beside the table, drinking coffee. "Mon amour," I speak softly. I don't want to make her more enraged. "Would you like me to cook breakfast for you?"
She set her cup of coffee in the dishwasher and grabbed hold of her purse. "I have plans with Chloe," She spits as she walks out the door.
I would've stopped her, chased her until she forgave me but I knew that wouldn't work. So I decided to let her cool off for a while at Chloe's before heading there and surprising her.

When all the songs left in the world are hunted out of fear, You stand up high and sing out loud so everyone can hear. Curious Tales: Assorted Fantastical Fiction
These are a collection of my short stories which don't feature gender bending front and center but do involve horrors, fantastical delights, and weird surprises. They may involve something as simple as a house on a swamp overlooking the dreams of the past or a byzantine battle between time travelers for what they see as the "right" timeline. And be as shiver-inducing as being locked in a school at night with disembodied shadows or as sweet as an old stuffed animal with a special secret.

Tesla Stone and the World of Smoke and Mirrors
R0Q-T357-Alpha (callsign: Rock) is a "Core Child," an irredeemably-crippled test tube baby modified and repurposed by an advanced U.S. military project to serve as the CPU for two-thirds of America's orbital defense systems. Though no one outside of the Pentagon has ever heard of him, he protected his homeland from three ICBMs, a Pacific theatre invasion fleet, and one rogue asteroid. Now, after twenty-seven years of distinguished service from "birth," he is being honorably discharged into civilian life. The only problem is that "civilian life" isn't exactly livable for a glorified brain in a jar. How does a couple pounds of grey matter surrounded by five tons of life support systems and enough co-processing enhancements to take over the planet enjoy an early retirement when he's surrounded by overzealous politicians, corporate spies, and foreign agents after military secrets? The real world isn't that forgiving.
