Finney's pov
Once I woke up Lucy was still sleeping. I just sat on the mattress until the lights suddenly turned on. Lucy jumped up from her sleep and looked at the door that was slowly creaking open. I grabbed her hand and pulled her up, I dragged her to the back wall, hand in hand, so we were both as far away from the grabber as possible. There he was holding a tray of eggs and soda bottles. "I made you some breakfast" he said. "What did you put in that" I asked, I didn't trust him." Salt and pepper, eat it don't eat it, your already down here" he said before walking off. Leaving the door unlocked.
I quickly and quietly rushed over there, Lucy trailed behind me our hands still together. I looked at her before opening the door. But before I could I got interrupted by the phone ringing. Lucy let go of my hand and slowly walked over there and answered. "Hello" she said softly. "Don't go upstairs" a voice said she looked over at me worriedly." Why not" she asked quietly. "It's a trap" Are you Billy, Billy Showalter" she asked again. " Maybe. Do. Not. Go. Upstairs. He's waiting on the other said with that belt that fucking belt" Billy snapped." He didn't say you could leave so you try, he'll punish you. Bad" Lucy looked at me with worried eyes. Before the phone hung up.
I was still determined to see what the Grabber was doing behind that door, Lucy looked terrified I looked at her and began walking up the stairs she followed behind me. Once we were at the top we saw the Grabber sitting on a chair with his belt in his hand. Lucy began breathing faster, not sure what the Grabber was going to do, I grabbed her hand and held it. I could feel her hand shaking so I squeezed it so she knew I was here.

Lucy's pov
I saw the Grabber sitting in a chair with a belt in his hand, the belt that Billy told us to watch out for. I started to breathing faster, Billy got almost beat to death with the belt and I didn't want that to happen to me. Or to happen to Finney. I felt something grab my shaking hand and squeeze it I saw Finney look at me, making sure I was ok. We slowly crept downstairs to the two plates the Grabber had left for us. We were starving we hadn't eaten in days. After a while of doing nothing we fell asleep. Well Finney fell asleep I couldn't I tried but I couldn't.
The phone rang again, "Finney, wake up the phone, it's ringing" he looked at the phone before walking towards it.
" You said my name was Billy, don't call me that, I don't remember it, it's not who I am call me, paperboy." He said quickly." Ok paperboy" Finney said."Look Infront of you, the wall, is it separated from the floor" Paperboy said. I looked Infront of me "Yes" I answered. " I tore a long cable loose from down there, I kept it hidden" "What are we supposed to do with that" I asked curiously. Suddenly one of the empty soda bottles started to spin towards the high window. I went to the wall and tore the cable loose. I handed it to Finney.
We took turns trying to get the wire to go around the cover. After a couple more tries and fails Finney got the longest tied up rugs and put it up to the wall. I helped him fish the wire up the rug and wrap around the cover. Once we did that I removed the rug.

Lucy removed the rug and I tugged on it a few times to make sure it was sturdy. I tried to climb it but fell, I tried again I got a little higher but got robe burn on my hands on the way down. They were bright red and stung. Lucy looked at my hands and had a go she had no look. She then started to tie the wire into a knot so she could stand on it. She tried to get her foot on to it but couldn't. I went behind her and gave her a boost.
Lucy's pov
I couldn't get my foot onto the knot. I felt someone's cold breath on my neck and two hands on my waist lifting me up. I saw Finney look up at me " Thanks " I said softly, he smiled, I felt my face get a little warmer but I just pushed it away. I pushed myself to the window, latching on the the cover trying to get to the latch. The cover slowly gave up and let go, making me fall backwards. I felt myself fall straight onto my back the air in my lungs was snatched right out of them. The metal cover flew out of my hands hitting Finney in the head. He groaned in pain as I tried to sit up, immediately feeling dizzy and weak.
"Finney, are you ok?" I asked him. " I-im fine are you, you fell pretty bad" he lifted my head with his hand. Before I could respond Finney was already saying something." I shouldn't of let you go up there, I should of gone up then you wouldn't of gotten hurt, i-im really sorry" he said sympathetically. "Finney I'm fine " I said to him as his face became more relaxed. He helped me over to the mattress and just layed there for a bit.
