《You And I》ƇӇƛƤƬЄƦ 18: Dwight Blake Johnson

ressing the right buttons on the remote I noticed the headlights flickering twice before I tightened my grip onto the bag strap over my right shoulder and walked nose high towards the black glass doors.
It was like any other normal day at High School, with teenage bones running around as always.
ஜ۩۞۩ஜ
I watched as the whites in her eyes turned a pure black, and as her iris glowered teal. Symbols, lines and dots formed in the iris, placed in a sort of manner. Circular Gallifreyan, they told me. Her lethal stare felt agonising and piercing, as ifher glare was tearing my heart apart with a blinding teal light.
ஜ۩۞۩ஜ
A sudden pang ripped through me as my steps patted onto the tiled steps. I felt my heart bump itself against the ribcage and fell at the pit of my stomach with a grief yarn.
Pushing through the glass doors, I let a sigh slip my lips and force stopped the battle of thoughts in my mind. Gathering most of my attention back to the present, I walked towards my usual way to locker 98.
"G'Morning, Babes" a slur whispered into my ear, making my heart puke onto the ribcage and a sour taste occurred on my tongue.
"Go away, Jennifer" anger was already pulsing through my veins as I threw my jacket and car keys in to the locker.
"I wish I could handsome. But what can I say, you've got killer looks and thinking about you helps me sleep at night" her voice was now much nearer and I could literally make out the hideous neon pink lipstick she wore, from the corner of my eye.
"Lawrence, I'm going to say this once and for all-"
"-Get lost and die in a mouse hole or something" my sentence was completed with another voice speaking up from behind me. A sudden relief filled me as I cranked my neck to look his way.
With a smirk over his unusual glowing face, he walked with firm steps towards our direction.

My eyes slowly shifted from him to his grinning company under his right arm and surprise shock me to core.
"Leave?" He repeated again upon coming to a halt right in front.
"You're no one to tell me that anymore Lee" the Queen bee glared at him with her makeup caked eyes and a slow smirk came over her lips as she shifted her gaze towards Jess.
"Oh look! Lee has just earned himself a nerd. Seriously, you could have done better than this" Jennifer made a fake cringing sound as her crooked finger raised up at Jess.
By now, anger was the only thing which was blazing through Jonathan's eyes. His palms coiled and uncoiled, as if he wanted to do nothing except, landing a fine punch on her fake plastic face.
The black door of Stecci High suddenly fell apart on cue, making everyone turn their heads that way.
With grey shades covering those green eyes of hers and that black attire which made her lean body prominent, that ash grey bolero over her shoulders and matching ankle boots, like always made her the Goddess that would put both Enyo and Aphrodite from Greek history to shame at once.
Shortly, those shades came off of her eyes and for the first time since last week, her eyes moulded into mine and my heart simply leaped into my throat.
Her eyes casted nothing but... blankness. Her previous eyes which were the green of fresh asparagus tips, flecked with the colour of nutmeg, were now dark with nothing in them. Simply as if I was a total stranger to her.
Leaving me shocked and frozen, she retraced her eyes away from me and got them fixed on someone next to me and I felt a mere shudder in palm on my forearm.
Walking straight up the corridor and coming to a halt right in front of me, her eyes were rigid, cold and hard as she took the full length of the figure next to me.
"Dixie, what a surprise darling?" Jennifer almost spit the words at her and in response heard a sneaker from those lips.

"Watch it plastic. I told you before and warned you that I don't repeat my words didn't I?" Dixie said as she laughed half heartedly.
"I... You... Ugh! I don't like you!" Jennifer stomped like a child who has just been said a no and walked away with the annoying click of those dagger heals she chose to wear.
"Darling! The feeling is very mutual" Dixie said at her retreating back and shook her head with a sly smirk.
With smirk gone the next second, she gave us a side way glance and walked past, pulling on the locker at the end of the corridor.
My eyes had a mind of their own as they were fixed onto the movement of her arms in the locker, her bisep muscles slightly flexed as she grew the keys in and shut the locker door before walking the opposite direction.
A slight wince escaped Jess and it wasn't later that her eyes got teary.
"Jess, don't worry. I've got a plan" I finally regained my being and assured her with a slight smile. Jonathan nodded to and threw his arm over her shoulder.
My mind buzzed with plans cooking at the speed of light.

I slightly nudged John behind the wall, as the view of Jess walking up to Dixie met my sight. Her nervousness was clear from those shaking fists of hers at her side.
She casted a brief glance my side and thumbed up.
"What if this goes wrong?" John hissed as I pushed him further away to make space for me.
"I'm positive it won't. They are best friends after all. We would be a third wheel here" I cut through his sentence as my eyes were still glued to them.
"Oh by the way, from when did you start caring about her that much?" There was an obvious jump in my voice.
"Mm... I... none of your business" He whispered low, but my ears caught each word with a smile on my lips.
Focusing my mind back on the current situation, my eyes took in the sight of Jess speaking to Dixie who stood with her arms folded over her chest listening to her intently.
Though from this distance the conversation held between them was forbidden to our ears, but was 100% positive that Jess was doing her job well. They were best friends after all and knew the right buttons of each other. On the contrary, what took place at the club was my fault and I'll be admitting it soon. It wasn't Jess, it was me who had this sudden arge to sense her presence resulting in a split between friends.
The talk was half way through when I noticed Jess wiping her face as it was now Dixie who was rising her hands high putting an impression in her words.
"That's it dude! I can't take it no more" Jonathan dodged me aside in a quick and stepped into the clear, picking up pace towards them.
"John, try to understand. It isn't for us to step in" I tried to reason with him, but he was acting like a bull who has just seen red.
"Jess" He whispered slightly as we neared them, making them both snap their heads our way.
First those green eyes looked shocked but then turned into slits, as if ordering the ground beneath my feet to engulf me as a whole.
"I'm sorry, this is all my fault. Please don't be mad at her" I finally spoke looking at her and breaking that dead end bubble that had formed itself around us.

The Deathseeker [Under Revision]
NOTE: This story has dark elements, but it's neither grimdark nor particularly edgy. It's also currently being revised. Satan's Axe...Lord of High Honor...The Immortal Giant...The Black Maelstrom...Son of Thunderfield...The Gods' Retribution. Dalric had many names. None were as fitting as his last, Dalric the Deathseeker. Born from an unwanted mating between the greatest warriors of the time, death was his only true kin. It birthed him, molded him, and now standing in the middle of a lifeless battlefield, it drenched him. The blood of thousands of soldiers soaked his skin. Two hundred thousand men approached him that day. All of them sought his life, none of them left with theirs. But they would not die in vain, they had accomplished their mission. Hidden beneath a thousand layers of their blood, was Dalric's very own. Feeling his life fade, he gazed weakly at his work. A seemingly endless array of corpses laid battered and disfigured before him. Some bore faces of horror, most had no face at all. His most trusted companion floated in front of him, blocking the view. Waves of sorrow flowed between them. “My time has finally come. I’ve begged for death and it’s finally arrived. My work is done...and so is yours. You’re free to be who you were meant to.” With his contract with the gods fulfilled, they were truly free. The centuries of torment would end. No longer would they have to walk the path of a monster. Little did Dalric know, the devil was in the details. What To Expect: A good time. In a few more words than that, a cast of believable characters in a unique world dealing with conflicts and problems a little bit more complex than punching the big evil guy in the face. Just a little though. Minimum Word Count a Week: 5000 Release Time(s): Between Friday 12pm EST and Monday 6am EST I also write A King in the Clouds
