Date: 10/6/17
I wait for the bell to ring for lunch. I am going to cry if the time moves any slower. Math is boring as hell. I am good at it, like really good, but I hate it! I am in advanced calculus as a Junior. The rest of the class is seniors. Literally, I am the only junior in the whole class. The sad part.... The teacher says I have the best grade in the class with a 107%. How is that possible? Extra credit and always getting 100's on test plus the bonus question. I would have a 110% but I was sick for a few days. It is only the beginning of the year and I am already top of this class. I look up at the clock. 11:17 a.m. Ugh! Our schedule is crazy.
Homeroom: 8:20-8:38
1st period: 8:44-9:21
2nd period: 9:27-10:02
3rd period: 10:08-10:43
4th period: 10:51-11:26
5th period: (LUNCH PERIOD) 11:32-12:12
6th period: (LUNCH PERIOD) 12:18-12:58
7th period: 1:04-1:39
8th period: 1:45-2:20
You see, our lunches are 40 minutes while classes are only 35. That's because we have electives during the other lunch. The first lunch is freshman and sophomores. The second lunch is juniors and seniors. This works out perfect for my friends and I. My freshman year I met the best people ever. There names? Megan, May, Dan, March, James, David, and Justin. They make fun of me sometimes because my name starts with an 'A' and there names all start with 'M', 'J', or 'D'. But, that's okay, they are only joking with me. Everyone in out group is made fun of for something stupid as a joke. Me, the name thing, Justin for being crazy tall, May for being the tallest girl, Dan for liking rock music, David because his last name is 'runner' (he's a runner on the track team), James for his last name also, his last name is 'string' and when he was little, his mom told us he thought that meant he was made of string, so we call him string boy, March is made fun of for being really girly, And then there is Megan, she is perfect. That's what we make fun of her for. Kind of, she always looks perfect and is so pretty.

Megan just moved here our sophomore year. I moved here the summer between 8th grade and freshman year.
The bell rings and snaps me out of my thoughts.
Elective (wood shop) time!!!!
**After elective**
Lunch time! I walk to my locker and put all of books in it. I turn around and see Justin.
"Holy crap Justin, why scare me like that" I ask
"Oh come on Ally, I do this once a week" he says. I love his nick name for me.
"Yeah but you never tell me what day Justin" I say and look up at him. He is over a foot taller then I am. He is my favorite out of us all. I like him, a lot, but I think he likes Megan. I mean, who wouldn't? She is little miss perfect. Don't get me wrong, I love her to death, but she always one ups me and the other girls. James and May have been dating for a few months now. They are the first two to start dating since I have been here. They started dating in like April or something. The end of April. (More like the beginning of the month May but they say the end of April so it is less confusing.)
"Ally, Ally, Ally, ALLY" Justin says waving his hand in my face
"What? Sorry, I didn't realize the all mighty Justin Johnson was talking to me. Little old Alex Lewis" I say and we start walking towards the cafeteria. Justin is the football team captain. We all play a sport, some what. The other girls are cheerleaders, a sport, but you most likely wont get into collage for cheerleading.
"Well, little old Alex Lewis, I would love to spend every second of my life talking to you" he says and I smile. I look down. I can tell I am blushing, bad. Only March knows that I have a crush on Justin. She is my best friend in the group, besides Justin. We walk into the cafeteria and I see everyone is already sitting down with there lunch. My locker is on the far side of the school while most of them have lockers by the cafeteria. Justin comes over by my locker once a week, sometimes twice, to walk with me. Not many people like me at this school, as a fact, not many people like my group of friends or anyone in it. The only reason people like Justin and Megan are because they are the caption of the football team and the caption of the cheerleading team, the two people focus on most. People hate me because I play soccer. Even though we went to nationals and won, with me as caption, not many people care about that. I have been caption since I was a freshman. I play forward and midfield. That's why people hate me, I was a freshman and I came in better then the seniors on the team. They were seniors, even though they were on the soccer team, they were still popular. Once people found out I beat a senior out for team caption, I was hated, and still am. At our school, all teams are co-ed. So it made it worse that I beat a boy senior. Rumors started and .... I don't wanna think about it.

"Alex" James says and I look up. He is walking over to us. All eyes are on us. We don't talk, we don't make noise, and we keep to our group of friends. Were the kids that 'Have it all', we play sports, best on the teams, we have all A's, good houses, nice cars, only children, according to society, we 'have it all'. When in reality, we really don't.
"What's up" I ask as he turns on his heals and starts to walk with us to the table we sit at every day.
"Can we talk about something" he asks looking up at Justin. I look up at Justin and he shrugs and walks to the table. James and I turn around and start walking out of the cafeteria when we are stopped by two people, Austin and Liam. They hate us. If Justin, James, Dan, and/or David aren't around they pick on Megan, May, March, and I. They always tell us they want to date us, but we know they just was to find out our secrets and then tell everyone. It happened to March, she started 'talking' to Liam and then she told him ONE secret and everything went crazy in her life. We aren't allowed to talk about it.
"What" I ask and then all of a sudden I am being punched in the face.

NEWDIE STEADSLAW Part I
NEWDIE STEADSLAW is a randomized array of Chekhov's red herrings, non sequitors ex machina, run-on sentences, and em dashes—so many em dashes. It's like if the Bible and Shakespeare had a baby that they surrendered to foster care, then it got adopted by Alice in Wonderland and Dr. Seuss—the books, not the people—and then the baby fell down the stairs. In this metaphor, the stairs wrote the story. Part I is the tale of the adventures of Traycup and Roby as they try to hold down a job inside the hollow Earth—a place made possible thanks to the secret science of embargoed relativity—and they get distracted by dancing foxes, a giant's record collection, and something with a train, I think. It's a work of fiction—although to call it work seems insulting to, y'know, actual work—but the fiction label is apt, so, y'know, that's a win. Half the words are made up, and the other half are embarrassed to be seen with them. Part I is complete.
