I walk over to Jermey and see Justin and Alex are walking off the elevator. Justin is hot but he is dating Alex. Stupid Alex. She is annoying in so many ways. Jermey wants to date her, and I want to date Justin, so we're gonna come up with a plan to break them up. (I know what you're thinking, she's a bitch, but Alex also hurt my step-bothers). She stole the captain spot from my oldest step-brother and got Austin, my other step-brother, put in jail. I liked Alex when I first saw her, but then my younger-older step-brother, Austin, told me about all the stuff she has done to them. That doesn't fly with me or my parents. Even my biological mom told me that I should punch her, but in all honesty, she accepted me right away and she wasn't mad at me for talking to Justin. She should be happy, as long as she doesn't do anything else to my step-brothers, I think we'll be able to get along
"Why did you call me down here" Jermey asks
"Never mind it. I think we should leave Alex and Justin alone. They seem very happy and they did accept us when we were the new students" I say and he looks shocked
"Where is this coming from?" He questions
"I was just thinking and they are a cute couple, plus, they didn't really do anything wrong to me specifically. I think we have a really good thing going here in this group of friends and I don't wanna mess it up" I say
"Whatever you want" he says. Jermey is Liam's cousin so we knew each other before we even moved to this town. I do have a slight crush on Jermey, but it would never work because he doesn't like me back, he likes Alex "so, what are we going to do now?" He asks

"What do you mean?" I ask
"About Alex and Justin" he responds
"I just told you, let's leave them alone. They never did anything to us so let's just let them be happy. Let's face it, high school relationships never last, if we can be part of this friends group, we'll get another chance when they break up. But like I said, for now, let's just let the two of them be happy" I say
"Okay" he says
"Thanks" I respond
"Anytime" he says and we hug. He hugs me tight, like a bear hug. I wish he gave me an 'I wanna be with you' hug, but he didn't. When we pull away, he looks sad
"What's wrong" I ask
"Nothing" he says smiling a little
"Something is wrong" I say
"Nothing is wrong Jessica" he says with a small laugh
"Are you sure" I ask
"Of course, I wouldn't lie to you" he says
"Okay" I respond
"I'll see you later Jessica" he says
"Okay" I say and we walk away from each other. Jermey is a good guy despite him being Liam's cousin. I wish Liam, Austin, and Katie would be nicer to this group of friends. They really are a good group of people

At The Lions Gate
In the 20th century America reinvented itself. Devastated by depression, scarred by war, rocked by a revolution, Americans banded together to preserve their country and their freedom. They had faith in themselves, faith in one another, and for those who believed…faith in God. This novel tells the story of one American who lived through those turbulent years….years that would test his character and the character of a nation. For Josh Sanders it begins in 1935. A star athlete in school, pro football is a ticket out of poverty during the Great Depression; but when his father, a WWI veteran, is killed during a robbery, Josh’s spirit is broken, and with it his boyhood dream. To honor his father Josh joins the war effort in 1942, distinguishing himself as a fighter pilot, until a fateful decision near the end of the war changes the course of his life once again. But many years later, after a stint as a boxer and a failed marriage, Josh finds his calling…at a time when the country is at war with itself. The year is 1968. King and Kennedy have been killed, race riots are breaking out, and Vietnam has become an albatross, causing massive protests across the country. In the streets of San Francisco Josh watches a crowd of students march for peace. As a veteran he’s conflicted, toward the war and those who oppose it. But when he encounters Rosy Goldin, a spirited young protester in need of help, a voice from the past calls him to action. His good intentions are soon tested when Rosy falls in love with the fugitive anti-war activist Erick White, a young man determined to oppose the war at all costs, against the wishes of his own father. Fearful of what happens to Rosy, Josh confronts Erick, unwilling to be part of his plan to escape…until he meets the boy’s father. A high-powered criminal attorney, Karl White is also a flag-waving patriot demanding that his son follow the law. But as White makes his case Josh is jolted by a painful war-time memory, a crisis of conscience that will soon determine the fate of Rosy Goldin and Erick White.

(Part 1 of 3)【EDITING TO MAKE SENSE】**important** I know this story is a favorite of mine, and I want to keep it true to what past me wanted it to be... But as I re-read this I keep thinking I could've made it better, or it could've been done differently. So I've decided to try and edit/fix it up to make it seem... Better? I hope no one gets mad, and I'll do my absolute best to keep it similar to what it used to be, just know if you are revisiting this story there may be some differences, and past comments could be confusing. Thank for understanding, and I promise that I will try to keep it as similar as possible. **important**Potential Fixes: •Adding time skips such as weeks in between or specific time passsings to make the story seem a little more realistic, and not rushed•Adding more things to flashbacks, maybe adding a new flashbacks but only 1 or 2...•GRAMMAR AND TYPOS •SOME dialouge, if it doesn't sit right with me•Anything that doesn't fit or doesn't match the storycover by: rivila_cher"AH!"
