《Fate》Chapter 36

The old lady pulled the suitcase behind her as her flat heels made clinking sound with the pavement. With each step she took, she remembered everything, everything before she left to Seoul five years ago.
What changed was the look.
The place which was once maintained and green with flowery bushes around, currently looked as if someone didn't even live there from five years.
She looked here and there to confirm if she came at right place or not. Her confusion was cleared when she saw the nameplate, which was rusting.
She sighed and took small steps towards the door. She knocked softly on the door ,waiting for her only granddaughter to respond.
After what it seemed like 2 minutes, the concerned girl finally opened the door.
"HALMEONI?!!!" A gasp left her mouth. She was totally taken aback, when her grandmother was unexpectedly standing in front of her.
"Yes me dear. Can I come in?" The old lady smiled sweetly, totally ignoring her granddaughter's behavior.
The young girl took some seconds to process whatever the person said infront of her as she soon shifted to side, inviting her grandmother in.
"So,...what brings you here?" the young girl asked awkwardly.
"Well, seeing the condition of this house...it really seems I needed to come here."Grandmother said, looking around the shabby house in disbelief. Everything seemed a mess. Clothes lying on couches in a bunch, empty packet of chips and bottles, even the plants in the corner were dried out.
Any decent person would conclude that the place was abandoned for quite a time. But the difference here was, the place was owned by the young girl.
Keeping her suitcase on one side of small hallway, grandma went to the kitchen. She checked the fridge and Shelf, only to see instant noodles and a lot of beverages, including Soju.
"What is all of this Soohyun?" She asked in stern voice to the young lady.
"Sorry granny!" Soohyun had her head hung low as she murmured.
"Sorry..? Do you really want to know why I came here? Your professor called me saying you haven't been diligently attending your classes from weeks? And what is with this house? How can you live in such a place." Grandma's voice was stern yet controlled. She wasn't expecting that from her granddaughter.

She left their house to work in Seoul, just to get her granddaughter the best she can. Best clothes, best food, best education, best environment and best etiquette.
She had enrolled her in a reputed institution just like any other guardian. She chose to separate from her only loving child just to work hard and afford her every demand.
This was enough for her to be mad over the young girl standing in front of her.
"Answer me Soohyun!" She said.
"Grandma...I- I didn't had money...." Soohyun trailed off.
"Money? I sent you allowance every time. Also, why you don't have raw ingredients in your cabinets? And what's with this Soju?" Grandma cocked an eyebrow.
"Oh, that's not mine! You know? That's actually, we had this party last week, and I let them here...It's theirs'. Soohyun said with a pout resting on her face.
"Party? Which party? And didn't they help you to clean up?"
"Party...that, you know na halmeoni, we aren't rich. So I usually get hard time while trying to be friends with them. This party was the only option. I wanted to show them I am worth their friendship..." Her voice cracked in the last on which halmeoni's eyes softened.
She knew about the discrimination. Discrimination due to class and clothes. Rich and poor. She had suffered from it as well and the least she wanted her granddaughter to share it as well.
She forget about her anger and hugged her granddaughter warmly.
"Oh child, you don't need to make friends with those mean people. You know that right." Grandmother said caressing Soohyun's hair.
"Yeah, I know...but, but there is no one. All of them come from high class family....they don't bully me, but they don't even come near me." Soohyun said sniffling , as her lips curling up in a smirk, totally opposite of her voice.
"This is why you didn't attend your classes?" Grandmother asked concerned.
Soohyun nodded in response and snuggled deeper in her grandmother's embrace. She knew Grandmother can't stay angry over her for long.
"What you ate though?" Grandma asked, breaking the hug and looking straight in her eyes.

"I ordered takeouts since I had to spend my time in self study and research. " Soohyun smiled innocently.
"Ohh!" Grandma nodded in response.
"I will prepare a room for you. You can wait in the hall." She said over which grandma nodded.
"Okay, by time I should inform Y/N-ah. She must be waiting!" With that grandmother left the kitchen.
Soohyun's smile fell as soon as grandmother was out of sight. She clenched her fists as her expression darkened.
"Y/N." She scoffed and went upstairs in her room.
"What does she thinks she is huh? She gonna take my grandmother? I am not letting that happen." Murmuring, she twisted the door knob and entered her room.
"She thinks she is going to succeed. Of course not." She huffed as looked at the wall. Her expression changed to amused one as soon as she did.
"Don't worry Kooks, I will make sure to remove the existence of that Y/N from our life as well. She has been interfering in my life too much lately. Poor girl...Doesn't know what she is getting into." She gave a smile to the poster of Jung kook, that hung in the middle of the wall. The wall was itself covered with the numerous pictures of Jungkook. Mainly with the ones, that Soohyun herself took. The faint light in the room was making her expression seem darker.
"It's getting interesting .One kill, two targets!" She said amused as she took new bed sheets from her cupboard and made her way out.
Jimin sat on the waiting room chairs as he had his earbuds plugged in. He was called by the producer. So here he was, in the big hit building, watching Y/N's youtube videos to pass time.
I am glad that I asked Y/N her channel's name that day. He thought as scrolled through he list of reaction videos.
It didn't seem like he was interested in the content though. He was more focused on how Y/N looked and presented and spoke in her every video. A small smile tugged on his lips showed he was enjoying his free time very well.
Should I watch this too?!
Well you can Jimin! You are just curious about your new Friend.
Yes, a friend.
He was contemplating to watch some more videos when;
"Jimin-ssi, you can meet the producer now." The staff informed and went back to there task.
Later I guess. He thought and shoved his phone back in his pocket along with earbuds.
He twisted the door knob, and entered the decent cabin.
"You called me sir?" He politely asked the person sitting on middle chair. This was their new producer who was head In charge of their new upcoming album. Kim Do-hyun.
"Ah! Yes, Jimin. Have a seat. I need to discuss something important." He gestured Jimin to sit.
Jimin nodded and took the seat in front of him.
"So Jimin...Well the reason I called you is...You need to turn in your work quick." he said with stern voice.
"But I have already submitted the intro-"
"Full song. I want full song ready Jimin. You know you have a Outro song in this album?! Moreover, you are in charge of writing lyrics and well as melody. You asked for it? Remember?" Do-hyun said.
"Ah, ye. I did." Jimin said in low voice.
"You know you are lagging, Jimin, right? Half of the songs are already recorded and all the other songs are already done recording. The only one remaining is yours, the outro. We can't release an album without outro right? I haven't seen a single progress from your side from two weeks. Where is the Jimin who was always diligent?" Do-hyun sighed. What he was doing was his job.
The past events did reflected on their work and Jimin's was more significant. The only difference was, not everyone in company knew about it. Just in case.
Jimin had his head hung low as he accepted his mistake. He was truly not working or making efforts from his side.
"I am sorry Mr.Kim. I will make sure to turn in as soon as possible." He smiled a bit as he got up.
"I know you will Jimin. You can go now. Fighting!" The producer smiled slightly as the latter bowed and went out.
