《Fate》~Chapter 50~

The boy in the blue jacket entered quietly after opening the door.
Not making any sound, he plopped on the bed in the middle of the room.
This can't be happening, right...
The thing he witnessed made his heart ache a little.
Emotions surged inside him as he stared at the box. He opened it and saw the chocolate brownie he bought, and a piece of pink paper on the box's lid, which was for her.
He sighed as he closed the lid shut and took a deep breath, trying to control the tingling sensation in his eyes.
A day before Jimin's confession.
Jungkook's POV
I am so relieved that everything would be back to normal now. There was a final full stop to all those terrible events.
Though I was at ease, my mind was worrying about something else. ..
Y/N.
She needs to go.
And just the thought of it is making me feel heavy.
That day when the screen blacked out, and I rushed upstairs abruptly in fear, the despair I felt seeing Y/n so vulnerable in front of me;
I wanted to protect her.
When I hugged her, my only thought was to be there for her.
But why?
The dilemma I was having trying to figure out my feelings for her was just not matching well with the circumstances. Just two more days and... we don't know. Don't know how the other employees and members of staff will react when they get to know about this incident. Don't know if we could even have connections with them.
I was torn between my personal and professional life.
I just-
The van abruptly came to a halt as I jerked forward. I put my hand on the back of the seat to compose myself.
I need to be more attentive to my surroundings.
I shook my head as
"Jungkook-ah, if you are out of your daydream, please come out, " Jin hyung said, knocking on the window of another side.
"I wasn't daydreaming hyung," I complained and got down.

"Yeah," He rolled his eyes as I joined him and Suga hyung.
We had to come to the resort where the staff was staying, for some document work. Though we weren't able to resume our work here, we had a small meeting regarding our unit song.
Our comeback was so near.
Our photoshoot was already cancelled as it was rescheduled in Seoul.
"This way, " the staff member who brought us here showed the way.
*time skip after meeting*
"I'll have jjajangmyeon" I skimmed through the menu.
"Anything else, sir?" The waiter asked my hyungs sitting in front of me.
"No, just some Kimchi Jeon and Jjajangmyeon." Jin hyung said. The waiter nodded and went. We were having dinner at a nearby restaurant.
In the meantime, I pulled out my phone.
Should I ask Y/n if she ate or not?
I can, nothing's wrong with it.
I swiped the screen and typed the message.
I kept the phone down and looked up only to see my hyungs staring at me weirdly.
"If you are done chatting with Y/n, can we eat?"
Huh?
Jin hyung broke the eye contact as he served some jjajangmyeon on my plate.
"H-Hyung, how you know it was Y/n?" I asked.
"You were smiling while typing," Yoongi hyung replied as he dug in his savoury pancakes. There was a tease in his tone.
Why are they suddenly bringing Y/n up?
"O-okay, but how is it related? "
"Do you think we are blind or something? There is definitely going on something between you two," Jin hyung said calmly.
"W-what? Aniyo!! There's nothing like that." I felt my cheeks burning in embarrassment.
"Then why you are blushing?" Yoongi hyung suddenly moved forward as if having closer look at my face.
"H-Hyung, what are you doing? And about Y/n, we are just friends, like y'all, that's it." I replied.
"Then you are saying you don't like her?" Jin hyung asked abruptly.

His sudden question made me go blank for a second. I wasn't able to answer anything, because it was the same thing I was trying to figure out too.
"Your silence is your reply, Jungkook." Jin hyung said, pulling me out of my thoughts.
"Hyung I.." I sighed, looking down.
Why I was not able to answer him?
"Bro, I caught them one time. I knew something was fishy between them." Suga hyung said with an eyebrow raised as my eyes went wide.
No no no.
"What?? caught them? You didn't tell me!" Jin hyung asked him, defeated.
"I wasn't sure, okay? Besides, we aren't sure right now either, unless this boy accepts it." He slurped his noodles.
"Are you going to reply to us or just sit like that?" Jin hyung turned to me.
Uh-h
"There's nothing like that hyung," I murmured.
"Lie."
I can't help but bury my face in my palms. I was with the eldest person in the group who, believe it or not, raised me. He knew me too well. Both of them did.
"Listen, boy, you can share with us if there's something. Your face right now says you have a lot in mind." Suga hyung's voice made me look up.
Will it really be okay..?
Should I tell them..?
"I don't know hyung. It feels too overwhelming to even think about it." I finally let it out. They know me really well, so there's no point in hiding it.
"Okay, so I'm taking this as in you are caught up in your web of overthinking that you cannot figure out your true feelings for Y/n?" Jin hyung asked,
How he can be right so many times, ugh.
"Something like that.."
"How do you feel about her kook? when you are with her. What do you like most about her?" Jin hyung asked in a low voice.
"I-I like being around her hyung. She is just...so nice and I feel giddy whenever I see her smile and like I used to admire her at first as only a person but she-she when I came to personally know her, I felt attracted to her somehow. Something distinct feeling that I had never experienced before. Given I started as guilt-tripped, to dragging her down in a mess because of me, but she made me come out of that depression I had. The way she cared for me, she talked with me, it- it just felt...good? As in good to know that I had someone. She sometimes may get really sensitive, which I noticed while working with her on her project. Whenever she's figuring something out, she has this habit of finger tapping. She may act like a child sometimes, but given the condition, she behaves so maturely. I- I didn't realize when her small habits became such a big part of my mind. But the thought that I may misjudge my feelings is just-.." A lump formed in my throat as I breathed deeply.
Wow, I talked a lot-
"Yah Jungkook-ah, you are in love, pabo," Suga hyung said, making my eyes go wide.
At the same moment Jin hyung passed me the glass of water as,
"Listen, kook. Your mental debate is considerable. You didn't start smooth. But you should not let those dejected thoughts affect your decisions. All of those events may be meant for you to realize. You had a chance to see her through various circumstances. From your answer, it's already clear that you have feelings for her. You are just too afraid to accept it. "
His words are right...
It's my fear and overthinking that is altering my decision.
"How about you just give it a chance? There's nothing wrong with it." Suga hyung said, as I suddenly felt the weight lifted off my shoulders.
"Maybe you are right hyung.."
