《Cynthia gets Flushed Away》Chapter 3

"So you're all from up top eh?" Whitey asked Roddy and Kali's gang while they were heading back to Spike and Whitey's boss's hideout.
"I used to work in a laboratory up top. Yeah, big shampoo job. I was dark grey when we started. Still it cleared up me dandruff" Whitey explained to Kali's gang while they seemed a bit uncomfortable and confused.
"Ulgh, that explains a lot" Cynthia commented on Whitey's story.
"Where do you think they're taking us?" The Twins asked. "Beats me" David shrugged his shoulders.
"Although I do wonder who this boss of their's is" Kali said.
"I got a bad feeling about this" Teeders told the others.
"You and me both sister" Kali agreed with her best friend, since they both shared similar senses with each other.
The gang then had arrived at the hideout, a place where the floodgates control-center building was. "Boss, we're back" Spike said as everyone entered the hideout.
The hench-rats brought the group over to the boss's chair where he was sitting, while Kali's gang got a look around the room. Rita was the only one with her hands chained up so she wouldn't be vulnerable to fighting.
"The ruby, I found it" Spike boasted.
"Well technically Spike, it was Millicent that found it" Whitey corrected.
"Um actually, the name's Roddy. And in exchange for my assistance I was hoping you might-" Roddy started as he came closer to the boss's chair. When suddenly a long sticky tongue launched out, catching a fly that flew by, which startled Roddy and the teens slightly.
At first the teens were thinking it was a big rat until the boss got up from his chair. Cynthia's notions were right as she feared the worst. The hench-rats's boss turned to face the group, revealing to be a large toad.
"Hello ugly" Kali and Teeders muttered, once they got a good look at the portly toad. Even Roddy jumped back, slightly shocked at the amphibian. Cynthia then fainted.
"Oh come on Cindy, it's not the fashion devil" David deadpanned while he got out a spray-bottle of armpit smell (from his own creation) to revive her with. When Cynthia woke up to see the toad she fainted again.

"Can someone clout her?" Brock groaned over Cynthia's constant fainting.
Kali then woke Cynthia up with one slap across the face, saying "Cynthia, the power of Lady Gaga compels you!". The young fashionista got back up on her feet.
"Ugh I hate toads, almost as much as I hate the sewers!" Cynthia quietly pouted to herself.
"Hello, Rita" The Toad looked to the red-haired scavenger rat with disgust in his voice.
"Hello handsome" Rita said back with a bit of sarcasm.
"And who are these fine folks?" The Toad turned to Roddy and Kali's gang. "Is your new boyfriend the waiter?" The Toad asked Rita mockingly before looking over to Kali's gang and adding "And are these lovely children the entourage?".
"Boyfriend!?" Rita interrogated.
"Waiter!?" Roddy interrogated.
"Children!?" Kali and her gang interrogated. They hated being called children, considering that Kali, David, Teeders, and Cynthia were 13, while the twins were 11.
The Toad then snapped his finger and Spike gave him the ruby. "The prize returns to me" The Toad deviously chuckled, before he asked Rita "Did you image that I would let you steal it from me?".
"What!? That jewel belongs to my father and you know it!" Rita snapped before Whitey pulled her back by her chains to restrain her.
"Your father, a good for nothing scavenger just like his daughter!" The Toad groused at Rita.
"Don't you dare talk about her father that way!" Ann defended, even though she hardly knew Rita.
The Toad looked scornfully at Ann before he then noticed Kali's crystal hanging loosely from her neck which interested him. "That's a peculiar looking gem" The Toad tried to get a closer look before Kali grabbed her crystal and held it close up to her chest, not letting The Toad lay one finger on her crystal.
"Uh excuse me" Roddy walked up to The Toad. "Actually, i'm the one who found your ruby, So..." Roddy started, but The Toad had his eye focused on a nearby fly.

"Perhaps you'd be generous enough to repay the favor and help me get home" Roddy asked before The Toad's tongue suddenly shot out, catching the fly in his mouth right in front of Roddy. "Help me!" the poor little fly cried out before The Toad ate him.
"Dispose of them" The Toad told his hench-rats to get rid of Roddy and the others.
"No, No, please! I just want to get home to Kensington" Roddy said.
"Same with me too. I want to get out of this wretched sewer and back home in my nice hot bathtub" Cynthia added profoundly. This made The Toad stop in his tracks and gasp for a moment.
"Kensington? The Royal Borough? Up Top?" The portly toad asked Roddy and Cynthia.
"Uh yes, Up Top" Roddy replied.
"Yeah whatever, are you familiar with it too?" Cynthia asked The Toad.
"Huzzah! A man and lady of quality" The Toad declared to the two upper-class rats.
"Finally, somebody gets it" Cynthia said to her friends while they just rolled their eyes at her. "You said it" Roddy agreed with the young fashionista.
"Come let me show you my private collection, I know you'll find it diverting" The Toad told Roddy and Cynthia.
"I don't know about this guy" Kali whispered to her friends. Her senses were off a bit about The Toad, especially right after Roddy mentioned Up Top to him.
"I agree with you" Teeders whispered back to her best friend.
Spike and Whitey pulled a giant curtain away, revealing a bright room of various England art and pottery. It was like a museum. "My shrine of beauty. Works of high art crafted in tribute to our beloved royal family" The Toad said, now seeming very sophisticated.
Kali and the others stayed back by Rita, looking at The Toad's collection from there. They found The Toad's collection pretty stupid and boring, nothing but old junk. Unlike Cynthia who studied about this kind of stuff. Roddy waved a bit sarcastically at Rita while she sarcastically waved back at him.
"Victoria's bust, wrought in porcelain" The Toad then showed Roddy and Cynthia a replica of Victoria's bust. "Quiet lifelike, wouldn't you say?" The Toad asked.
"It's as if she were here" Cynthia replied.
"Smooth to the touch" The Toad remarked while admiring his Victoria's bust.
"Easy tiger" Roddy said which made The Toad giggle.
"But come, let us restore the heart and highlight of my collection" The Toad brought the ruby over to a stand. "This ruby, fallen from the very brow of ancient kings! A true crown jewel" The Toad placed the ruby on the stand while Spike turned on a switch which played a little tune. "Well what do you think?" The Toad asked the two upper-class society rats.
"HE'S A MADMAN! RUN AWAY! RUAHH-" The fly popped out of The Toad's mouth for a second but was sucked back in, Cynthia jumped, a little freaked out. "Pardon me, my fly's undone" The Toad apologized.
"Yes, speaking of which we'd love to see more of your collection, it's very amusing" Roddy started.
"Amusing?" The Toad suddenly sounded offend.
"Uh didn't you say we'd find it amusing?" Cynthia asked.
"I said you'd find it diverting, NOT AMUSING!" The Toad snarled at them, feeling insulted.
"When I said "amusing" I really meant it in the sense of the ancient Greek muse, the goddess of inspiration" Roddy started before he and Cynthia both bumped into a bobblehead, nearly falling over but they grabbed it.
Unfortunately the springy bobblehead popped out hitting a piece of pottery, knocking everything over in a row like dominos. The Toad's whole collection was destroyed, including the Victoria bust which was The Toad's favorite.
"Oh real smooth, Cynthia" Kali and the others complemented sarcastically.
"Smashing" Rita added to Roddy.
The Toad's throat suddenly bulged hugely out in anger. Whitey then grabbed Roddy and Cynthia. "Oh heaven help me" Roddy and Cynthia both said.
"Ice them, ICE THEM ALL!" The Toad ordered.
"Ice us?!" The teens looked at eachother, not really sure what that meant. But they were about to find out.
"THIS IS NOT MY DAY!" Cynthia wailed.

Life of a Core
After a disembodied voice had told him he was what amounted to an exceptionally talented rock, it had been hard to not let it go to his non-existent head. Until, random chance had decided to give him a square kick in the minerals. Which had in turn forced him to fend for himself in an unknown land, all while he attempted to make sense of his place in the world. Truthfully though, all he had really wanted to do from the start had been to bury himself a hundred feet below the ground and be left to his own devices. Yet, for one reason or another, nobody ever seemed willing to leave the dungeon-building core alone long enough to actually make one. Each chapter will average around two to three thousand words, the release schedule is still a WIP but you should expect the first six chapters to be released over the next six days. This is planned out as a dungeon building fiction, but don't expect it right off the bat! The story is a depiction of the everyday adventures (alongside an overarching plot) of what I imagine a dungeon core would experience when thrust into a random environment where everything and everyone tried to covet or eat him. I also really enjoy reading the comments and reviews people leave and would love to get some reader involvement with the story itself, likely through polls at the end of each chapter. I hope you enjoy my story! (If you feel like some of the characters seem familiar, you may have read some older work I wrote a while back under a different account. If you happen to be one of my old readers and recognize the similarities, I'm happy to have you back!)

Up In Space
New chapter every other day Iain Compton never planned to be abducted by an alien spaceship. It just… happened. And now he’s been awakened 22,000 years in the future and half a galaxy away by a pair of oddly human seeming beak nosed aliens and a space ship A.I. that seems to have more than a few screws loose. Oh, and then there's this gorgeous alien woman who he probably shouldn’t trust at all. His plan is to find a way home to Earth, even if its unlikely to be remotely the same; to find a better class of companions among an often strange and inexplicable galactic community, at least one who won’t use him or sell him out at the first opportunity; and to do something about the parasites in his brain who are supposed to connect him to a library the size of the galaxy, but seem to only be telling him that almost everyone and everything he comes across wants to kill him. But at least he can still send tweets.

Curse of the Reaper
The Void, mother of all that was, created two sons, Order and Chaos, to bring substance to her. A war will be sparked off between the twins that will, in the end, consume their mother. Now it will be up to another of his sons, many millennia down the road, to answer for his Fathers wrongs, as the race for the Throne of the Underworld begins in Book One of The World of Grim.

Cycles of Ruin
Civilizations rise and fall. Kith build them up and monsters, led by powerful dungeon keepers, bring them to ruin. For three thousand years the cycle has been maintained by the Guild of Chaos and its endless hordes of minions who—in absence of their long lost creators—have taken it upon themselves to keep the realms of the universe in balance. The Guild has grown efficient at this task, but some among its ranks have begun to ponder the utility of a universe that has been robbed of the very possibility of change. Basil von Doom is one such dungeon keeper working for the Guild, leading an army of loyal minions from one conquest to the next; burning civilizations and sifting through the ruins in search of forbidden knowledge that the races of kith were never meant to possess. But having spent more than half a century in pursuit of glory and fame—trying to live up to the legacy of his father—Basil has grown indifferent towards his work. Desperate for a worthy challenge, but bound by his duties as a dungeon keeper, he has turned his mind towards uncovering the ultimate fate of the previous master of his house and the secrets that were buried with him. Now the young Master of House Doom must balance his growing interest in pursuing the trail of his father with the responsibilities that come with running a dungeon in service to the Guild of Chaos. To remain in good standing with the Guild, Basil has even accepted the task of mentoring an apprentice dungeon keeper, a young succubus named Elnora. It is at the tail end of her apprenticeship that the story begins; with a civilization poised to fall—its greatest heroes gathering for one last assault on the heart of darkness—and Basil striking up a conversation with his apprentice that will set into motion the unraveling of the universe. ***This is a rewrite and continuation of my story that was first posted on RoyalRoad a few years ago.
