Almost 7 months had gone by, everything seemed to be going pretty well, the pack was running adequately and everyone was happy,

everyone other than Knox ... werewolves pregnancies last for 7 months unlike the normal 9 months with humans and well Sophia was due any date now,

no one had ever seen the beta so ... well so crazed, Sophia would be sitting munching down an entire box of cookies while Knox was hell bent on making sure that she didn't even feel the slightest discomfort,

even Sophia letting out a small cough was a trigger for the huge beta who would be calling the pack doctor over everything to the point the doctor feared the beta would lose his head before the arrival of the child.

'KNOX CUT IT OUT RIGHT NOW,' a very very pregnant Sophia screeched

'baby no sit down lemme get the first aid its starting to get red now look,' Knox pointed out, hell-bent on getting his way

'KNOX GET AWAY FROM ME OR I SWEAR TO GOD IM GONNA KICK YOU IN THE FACE,' Sophia threatened, trying to jerk away from her mates hold as she sat on the couch with Knox holding her ankle

'oh for the love of the moon goddess Knox ITS JUST A MOSQUITO BITE,' James said frustrated while Gabriel sat with wide eyes,

you could practically hear his thoughts from his expressions, well babies are a clear no for Gabriel, the man looked terrified.

'mosquito bites don't get this red,' Knox muttered, applying ointments onto his mates ankle who seemed to be seething and the concerned beta looked clueless to his mates anger directed at him

Dante strolled into the living room to see the havoc that was going on, putting his hand into the pocket of his slacks quietly assessing what was going on,

he was about to kick everyone out of the house when Venus walked in through the front door with little Jack in her arms, his bright blue eyes wide with joy as he looked around the foyer.

Jack was a little pup from the pack house orphanage, he was only 3 and he was newly moved there by his grandparents who were getting too old to take care of him.

Frowning Dante raised his brows in question at Venus and who their little guest was, realising Venus put Jack down and held his little hand,

'Dante this is Jack, he's my new little friend, Jack this is alpha Dante,' Venus introduced

Jack's blue curious eyes clashed with Dantes blue and green ones, as he held out his hand to the little pup,

little Jack trying to look as intimidating as the 6'3 alpha puffed his chest out and shook Dantes's large hand, Venus smiled widely at the sight and ruffled Jack's hair affectionately.

'nice two meet you alpa,' Jack said, his cute baby voice not going unnoticed as he was still learning how to speak, Dantes lips twitched and he gave the little pup a small proud smile.

Afterwards Venus introduced Jack to everyone in the house, letting him get comfortable around everyone, and to their surprise, Jack warmed up to Gabriel the most,

Venus looked at James and gave him a teasing look, Sophia also caught onto it and leaned towards James and whispered,

'i think our Gamma is ready to be a father,' she said, wiggling her brows at James who looked at Jack with a tender look in his eyes,

as it came down to late afternoon Jack let out a yawn indicating it was nap time, he had then fallen asleep in James lap, they had a dinner to attend to so he asked Venus if she could take him to nap in a room as Gabriel and he had to leave,

Venus picked him up and headed to their room, gently rocking him back and forth as he lulled further into sleep and she placed him on their bed,

giving him a soft kiss on the forehead she was about to exit the room when she saw Dante standing in the doorway watching them with an indescribable expression on his face,

not sure of what happened Venus pulled him out of the room and into the hallway after gently closing the door after Jack so he didn't wake up.

'whats wrong?' Venus asked, wrapping her arms around his waist

Dante shook his head and removed her hands from around his waist and left without a word, confused Venus stared at him with her mouth slightly agape, what the hell just happened?

She followed him to his office in search for answers, did i do something to upset him? she thought,

there he stood in all his glory signing a few papers and reading them, the sun glinting through the large window surrounding him like a halo, he looked divine, his broad shoulders moving with such elegance as he skimmed through the papers in front of him.

'Dante?' Venus called out hesitantly

'hmm?'

'is everything okay...,'

'yes of course why wouldn't it be?'

'you're acting terribly weird,'

'Venus I'm not now drop it and go downstairs join the others ill be there in a while,'

'no, I'm not leaving till you tell me what has gotten into you and why you're acting this way,

please don't shut me out Dante, the mark, i feel your unease and restlessness, talk to me baby,' Venus said, walking closer to him and holding his hand that had papers in them

his jaw clenched

Venus didn't realise what was going on, as she absently rubbed his hand with her thumb gently

'talk to me,'

silence

his head was bent as he refused to look up from the papers and Venus was getting slightly worried as his breathing had deepened,

his chest was rising and falling with every laboured breath he took, she rounded the table and neared him, gently placing a hand on his shoulder she called out to him.

Dante looked up and raised glowing dark eyes to Venus, Enzo was out.
