Yay!! Thanks a lot guys for 40k! Bless every one of you!
I'm going to update from now on, until the book is finished!!
------------------------------------------------------
(Y/N)-chan's POV
I must pass the last exam. Or else my company might find out that I have friends now.
And kill them.
I must treasure the last few days with my friends. My only friends that I've had in my whole life.
I think I finally found my fears.
It is that people will use my friends and blackmail me. I know that I am strong enough to protect myself. But I know my friends aren't strong enough to protect themselves
My organization is more deadly than the Zoldycks'.
~*~
"Killuaaaaaa~~~" I screamed as I entered the cafeteria. The only person in it was Killua. He lazily lifted himself up from the table that he was laying at and stared at me before stretching and yawning loudly.
I took this opportunity and went close to him and patted his hair.
I repeat, PATTED HIS HAIR!!!!
Just as I thought, it's as soft as him! I melted as I stood beside him.
"O-oi!! (Y-Y/N)!! You're melting!! What happened?! " screamed a worried and panicking Killua, and I still managed to keep my hand on his hair. Ruffling it slighting.
It is heaven.
So this is what heaven feels like.
"Oii!! (Y/N)!!! HELPPP!!!! SOMEONE'S MELTING!! THIS IS AN EMERGENCY!!" Killua shouted as he stared at me while I melted.
Then the person we least expected to come in through that door came.
Hisoka.
I quickly regained my posture and both me and Killua stared at him. Cold stare.
"What do you want Hisoka " I glared at him.
"Is that how a boss treats it's empolyies?" He smirked at me.
My eyes went wide and so did Killua.
"What organization are you in...?" Killua asked me as he stepped back a few steps leaving me.
"Actually I just came here to see if someone's actually melting, I'll just leave it here for you to explain. " He evilly smiled and left the room leaving just me and Killua.
"Tell me (Y/N)! Who are you working for!!??!! " Killua shouted and stared at me as if I've told him the biggest lie ever.
Instead of replying him I just stared at him pitifully and smiled sadly before walking away.

He just stood there and never came to me.
~Time skip to 2 hours later~
After I left I went back to a random room and plopped down on the ground and sat in my boyish way of sitting.
Staring at the wall in front of me for I don't know how long.
Then suddenly an announcement came up
"Attention to all applicants, when your number is called, please proceed directly to the conference room one by one. " and the announcemnet finished.
"COULD IT BE THE LAST PHASE!?! " I heard people screaming outside.
"It's too soon!! " one person whined and a loud thud could be heard, probably because he fainted.
I got up from where I was sitting and went outside and looked outside the window to see nothing but the ocean wave smashing against each other. But even so, it was really pretty.
"Attention, will applicant 44 please report to the conference room" the announcement asked.
I headed towards the conference room as well. Then I saw a glimpse of Hisoka walking into the room and closing the door behind it.
I stood against the glass window fearlessly in front of the door and waited for him to come out.
In a matter of 2 minutes the door opened and he came out. Smirking as I heard him mumbling "That's knew sly, old fox. Hes so unguarded, he dumbfounded me "
"Hisoka" I darkly called out.
"Oh-" he chuckled "I didn't see you there (Y/N), what can I do for you?"
"Jump out of this ship and die." I bluntly replied.
He only chuckled harder.
"Still mad at me for telling Killua the truth? " He asked. I immediately shot him a glare.
"Why did you tell him? " I angrily but calmy questioned.
"Because you're not allowed to have friends, I thought you've already been taught that " Hisoka once again chuckled. If he likes to chuckle that much maybe I should just chuck him out of this ship and let the sharks feed on him.
That'll be such a great entertainment.
"If you're working for me, you listen to me, not boss me or tell other people. Or else I'll fire you and throw you on a mountain and let you die the worst way possible. You know my organization and how high my status are better than anyone here.

Watch your mouth" I finished off my speech and walked away silently without a sound of my footstep.
He didn't chuckle this time but I can feel his cold gaze fixed onto me as I walked away.
"Applicant 53 please proceed to the conference room" the announcement asked once again.
~Time skip to 45 mintutes later brought to you by the last few chapters of this book~
"Applicant 101 please head to the conference room" that is my number.
Guess I'm the last one.
When I went in, there sat the chairman. He smiled at me and I didn't give him a reaction and in front of him was a wooden table.
I sat in front of the wooden table facing him.
"You're the last one! So tell me why do you want to become a hunter" He asked me.
" I came here from boredom." I simply replied and he sweat dropped.
"were you able to enjoy your time then? "
"well, the test are really boring, but the people who came to this is interesting."
"Then out of these applicants, who do you think is the most intriguing?" He flashed out a set of photocards in front of me on the table.
I looked at the following people.
It's the remaining people left in this exam.
"None" I replied with a blank face.
"But you just said, the people who came is interesting " he asked confusingly
"They're interesting, but none of them are interesting enough"
"I see then"
"Just one last question then, which applicant would you least like to fight " He asked.
"I wouldn't mind any" I replied without hesitation nor moving to see the following people on the photocards.
I knew the last phase is testing physical strength.
Netero looked rather surprised at my answer but he didn't say anything
"All right thanks, that'll be all" He casually responded.
I got up almost immediately and went out the door in a flash.
I was just about to head towards the ships' balcony deck. But I saw Killua and Got having fun with Gon's fishing rod and I just stood behind the glass windows watching them.
It's nice to have friends isn't it? Too bad I haven't got one.
"Looks like they're having fun aren't they (Y/N)" Leorio suddenly appeared behind me, Kurapika following behind him.
"Yeah, the two doesnt seem to be feeling any pressure for the last phase.
"They're just doing what comes natually" Kurapika commented
"How about you learnt a thing or two from them Leorio?" Kurapika teased.
"Shut up already" Leorio stared at him annoyed.
~Time skip 3 hours later~
"Attention please, thank you for your patience, in a few minutes we will be arriving at the site for our final phase"
The announcement says again.
I looked outside the window along with the other applicants as we landed on a building.
We all stepped down and inside the building was very spacious and empty. The design on the walls and the windows looks beautiful.
This is it
I stared at all the other members facial expressions as I stood next to Kurapika. Some were having huge eye bags underneath. And some looked dead.
"All right I've been cramming non stop for this! I'm prepared for anything" Leorio exclaimed.
"The final phase is going to be an one on one fighting tournament " Netero explained as he stood next to a board that was covered over with a large piece of fabric.
"W-what?! A tournament?! " Hanzo looked like his soul was about to fly out of his body
"You mean it's not a written exam?!" Leorio shouted and his eyes went wide like a elephant.
"Written exam? Where did you ever get an idea like that from? " seeNetero looked as calm as the summer sea.
Everybodys eyes shot towards Bodoro except for the people that didn't study at all.
Bodoro simply looked away in shame and embarrassment.
"Here's the chart that shows who's fighting who in the tournament." Netero said before pulling the fabric off the board.
Everybodys eyes went wide.
Everybody loved my drawing about my Popsicle stick knifes in the first chapter so here's another one :)
Please do not copy this chart. Plagiarism is against the law unless proper credits are given. :)
***
"Could it be, for this year's exam..." Killua started
"Only one of us... Passes?! "Gon finished off.

Catalyst: Avowed
The year is 605, and in your home— the country of Corcaea— the souls of mankind belong to demons. A phenomenon known as the "Catalyst" is what's to blame. This diabolical phenomenon lurks within every man, woman, and child. It can turn any human into a demon, if they fall prey to one, all-consuming element. It can be anything. Fear. Grief. Generosity. Even love. In a land where Gods are real and Corcaea's theocracy is the last hope for mankind, you follow in the footsteps of Father Richard Anscham: a deeply disturbed young priest, the leader of the Church of Mercy, and the foremost researcher of the Catalyst. Despite completing a holy mission from the Goddess of Mercy, obtaining a holy Relic, and escaping from demon-infested ruins, Father Anscham is in greater peril than ever before. Ravaged in mind, body, and soul, the solace he begs to receive from the Church of Flesh is impeded by a cruel lesson: the ramifications of a life spent sacrificing everything one has for others. See through the harrowing eyes of a man at his wit's end; through a dark fantasy tale of horror, hope, and desperation. Search for the cure. Conquer your personal demons. Welcome to Catalyst! As this is an archive of Catalyst Quest (an interactive, collaborative story), the prompts that were included with the original run of Avowed have been stripped, and the story is presented like a traditional novel for your reading convenience. If you would like to read Catalyst in its original format or participate in current events, you can find us here, on Sufficient Velocity. This book is complete! The story will continue with Catalyst: Calunoth, just as soon as I am done revising its content for here on Royal Road.
