《His Midnight Angel》Chapter 26

(Alexandra's POV)
It happened in the night. No one saw it coming. I grabbed an antique sword hanging on the wall.
"Get the children and seniors to the bunkers! Any able body that can fight please do it!" Jacks voice rang out. There was chaos everywhere. The alarms sounded in the middle of the night. The children and elders were being herded into an underground bunker with 7ft thick walls made of steel. The door was laced with wolves bane and could only be opened by a specialist.
I looked at Michael, he was cool and confident.
"Fighters warriors to me!" I yelled out. I watched as they all ran toward me. I felt my wings unfold.
"This will be like nothing any of us have ever seen. Some of you will lose your lives, others will lose loved ones. But we have to defend our land. We have to fight for what we believe. These things are not human. But we have to fight. We have to fight as if our lives depend on it. Because they do." I finished. There was a war cry.
"Rouges!" A voice cried out. The battle started. Rouges are savage. They are savage and cruel. And they kill with no feeling. My mother was killed by one. Wolves were ripping at wolves. I stayed in human form but I fought back.
Rouge after rouge came at me, and each one met their end. I launched into the sky. I surveyed the area. Josh and Jessie were on the far left side by the house. Daniel and Michael were in the middle. I focused on Michael's blonde hair. I saw Margo get taken down by a rouge. I rushed to her aid. She was in wolf form but she nodded in appreciation. I stabbed the rouge through the chest with my sword. Rouge after rouge met its end. So this was it.
A loud roar sounded over the battle field, every one stopped what they were doing, the biggest wolf I had ever seen stalked toward Margo and I. Behind it was a smaller but just as large wolf. I heard Margo gasp.
"The Rouge king..."
"Wait isn't that you-"
The wolf gave another growl making me stop. It was right in front of us now. We watched as the wolf turned into a man. He was a muscular man with silver hair. His body was covered in scars.
"Margo." His deep voice said.
"Father." She said with a bitterness in her voice. He turned his attention to me. My wings still unfurled from my back.
"And you... I've seen you before." His voice sent shivers down my back. "Oh! That's right! I ripped your pretty little mothers throat out." He cackled. I glared at him, this monster destroyed my childhood.

"Clara! Please. Leave him." Margo's voice sounded desperate.
"Your sister won't do that." I looked at the girl standing behind him, she was a year younger than me or so. With the same bright blonde hair as Margo. She was short and her eyes were bright green. She had the same strong jawline as this man. But other than that she looked almost identical to Margo.
"Please Clara!"
Still the girl remained silent.
"Now I have my orders. From the true queen of night. I am to kill you, and I am going to. I am gonna rip your pretty little throat out just like I killed your mother. " he ran at me and phased midair. I wasn't gonna do that, but I launched myself up into the sky. The battle raged on underneath me.
The rouge king looked so small below me. I took my sword in hand. I was not going to give this man the pleasure of killing me. But killing him would Avenge my mother. Daniels mother, and my father. All people he's ruined. And who knows countless of others. I launched myself toward the ground. Sword arm extended. He didn't see me hit him, cause Margo had gotten his attention. I pierced through his fur and straight through his heart.
He gave a shudder. A gasp and he was dead. But just for sure I ripped his head off with my bare hands. The battle suddenly stopped. All the rouges stared at their fallen leader.
"Please... Clara. He's gone, you can be free now..." Margo whispered.
"Free? I can never be free Margo." Clara's voice was firm, yet it was like a soft melody.
"You remember what he did to mom? He ripped her throw at out. His own mate! How could you stay with him? He beat us black and blue."
She opened her mouth to say something but another voice rang out instead.
"Mate!" Jack came into view behind Clara. Shock registered on her face. Slowly she turned toward Jack.
"That's not.. that's not possible..." she looked at Jack with wonder.
"It is actually. I thought because we were the Rouge Kings children the moon goddess cursed us to live without mates. Because that's what he told us."
Daniel came into view. He was in his wolf form, but he locked Margo's face. Making her giggle. The rouges turned back and ran like their lives depended on it. Clara looked conflicted.
"Please. Stay?" Jack asked hopefully.
She was silent for a short while but nodded reluctantly.
"Well well well. Isn't this a lovely sight." A woman walked onto the battle field. She had dark hair and her eyes were pitch black. She was wearing a sort of tough material that covered her chest. And legs. Her skin was a light tan but it looked sickly from the lack of sun.

"Troy."
"Mother." He said as he came into view.
With a start I realized who that was.
Adelphi.
"Surprised to see me sister?" Time had in fact changed her. She was still beautiful. But in a dark twisted way.
"Adelphi."
"Alexandra. Still playing with toys?"
"After all these years... why show yourself now?" I asked.
"Because I'm sick of the shadows. And I miss my throne. I've been down here long enough, that little girl doesn't need to be on my throne any more. She's had it long enough."
"Artemis has been a more just ruler than you ever were." By this point we had attracted a crowd.
"Ahh Jasper." She said looking at Michael. "You still chose this urchin over me? A queen?"
"You are no queen."
"Pity. After years I realized that it was time to come home. I perfected my little demons, they bowed to my will. My son. A perfect heir to the throne."
"How is he alive?!"
"Did you forget? What we are. You are no wolf sister. We are Centuries. Divine beings with immense power. We are immortal and cannot be killed. Your precious Jasper is not a wolf either. Artemis was brilliant to hide you two among the wolves."
"You did not answer my question."
"That night that I was banished. The solider that was on the table. He was one of my many lovers. I captured him after our... 'love making'. You caught us at a perfect time. Any sooner and you would have been highly embarrassed. Though... perhaps I would have been In The clear. But I found out i was pregnant after I was banished." Adelphi explained. "He is the perfect solider. He does what I say, when I say."
Troy just stood there. Staring straight ahead.
"I realized that my key to gaining my throne back was... by killing you. And I trained. I trained and trained until my bones cracked. I've had almost a millennia to perfect my skill."
"Shall we put your skill to the test then?" I challenged her.
"Perfect!"
"Let them go. There doesn't need to be a war. There doesn't need to be pointless bloodshed."
"My little monsters are little angels."
"Your word Adelphi."
"Fine fine, you have my word." She said nonchalantly.
"Do you remember how we used to keep promises back in those days?"
She took the blade out and sliced her palm. She handed it to me and I did the same.
"Do I, Alexandra Davina Celestial have your word that you will leave them unharmed. All of them, none of your little demons will kill them, your son won't touch them, no harm will befall them?"
"You have my word that I, Adelphi Destiny Celestial will bring no harm to your loved ones. Nor will my son."
The bond was sealed.
"Then let us fight till the death sister." I drew my sword. Adelphi launched at me and swung her blade. She was fast and skilled but I matched her speed. It was as if it was muscle memory. My body woke up, she swung at me but i parried her blow. I thruster my blade back in her direction. She barely missed by blade by a millimeter. We fought, each of us swinging at the other trying to do the other damage. Mean while the on lookers looked at us as if mesmerized by our movements.
Sword fighting reminded me of dancing. Each swing a graceful extension of my arm. Until finally I managed to pierce her right through the stomach. She gave a shudder. Her blade fell at her side, and she fell into my arms.
"You always were better..." she whispered in my ear. We fell to the floor. "Alexandra... can you ever forgive me? I made you suffer, for hundreds of thousands of years. You wasted away down here on this wretched planet..." Remorse filled her voice. "All I wanted was to be an equal to her. Artemis was always getting the attention. From mother. From Father. Always. And Father was always to busy trying to run a kingdom, and over seeing your training to ever notice me... please Alexandra... forgive me?"
Tears had filled my eyes. I had done it... I has done what I had set out to do. I could leave of my own free will... me and Jasper both could go home..
"I... I forgive you..." tears fell from my face.
"Oh Alexandra...you always were to forgiving." she started laughing at me. Before I could move or say anything I felt something sharp pressed to my chest.
"And that makes you a fool."
She said as she pierced my chest with the knife.

blacklight
So here’s the deal: my name is Kihri Vyas, and I’m dead. (That’s not really important, it happened ages ago, but it’s good to have the context.) Anyway, me and my sister Zarah (the only person who can see or hear me) have basically been on our own since I kicked the bucket, surviving on the streets of Kaila and sort of just being miserable and bored and tired a lot. I mean, I haven’t, cause I’m dead, but she has. It sucks, but that’s business as usual for us. What isn’t B-A-U is that a bunch of other homeless folks have been disappearing in the last few months, and some of them have been turning up with anatomically-improbable, but extraordinary fatal, injuries. Cops don’t give a shit, of course, and my sister’s a boneheaded bleeding heart, so we’ve been investigating them ourselves. And, well, we’ve found a bunch of weird shit. Stuff made of solid light, ghost attack dogs, people glowing black, somehow, some kind of living robot… Actually, you know what? It’s probably easier if you see for yourself. blacklight is a modern fantasy story it's not about being gay but rest assured its gay as fuck nevertheless it updates fridays at 2 p.m. AEST on its own site at https://spectrochroma.wordpress.com/ Chapters are uploaded here one week after they finish on the main site.
