《Vexed ♡ S. ROGERS》13.Ultron, Ultron, Ultron

"Stark!"
Tony looked quite shocked as he tried to look around, searching for something that wasn't there. "J.A.R.V.I.S.-"
"I'm sorry, I was asleep or I was in a dream," the robot interrupted.
"Reboot!" Tony ordered sternly. "Got a buggy suit."
The robot was in it's own world as it mumbled things to itself. "There was this- this terrible noise and I was tangled in-in...stings. Had to kill the other guy...he was a good guy."
Steve, now in professional mode, moved closer. Vex placed a hand on his bicep, stopping him. He looked back at her for a split second before he looked back at the robot. "You killed someone?" He asked, his voice stern.
"Wouldn't of been my first call, but, down in the real world, we're faced with ugly choices," it responded.
"Who sent you?" Thor asked, narrowing his eyes at the robot.
Instead of responding, the robot used a play-back. "I see a suit of armor around the world," Tony's voice was heard and everyone turned to him in shock.
"Ultron," Bruce breathed out, looking at the robot in disbelief.
"In the flesh," the robot began, "or no-not yet. Not this chrysalis, but I'm ready..."
As soon as he said this, Thor's grip on his hammer tightened. Maria took the safety off her gun and everyone else slowly got into fighting positrons.
"I'm on a mission," Ultron told them, standing up slowly.
"What mission?" Natasha asked warily.
"Peace in our time," Ultron answered, his gaze landing on Vex. Everyone else looked at her in confusion.
Steve pushed Vex out the way as the rest of the Iron Legion robots burst through the windows. He kicked the table, causing one of the robots to fly into it and Maria stood close by, shooting at anything that came her way.
Natasha and Bruce made their way over to the bar, hiding their. Natasha had picked up a gun and started shooting at the oncoming robots.
Sam and Rhodes, along with Tony, jumped over the railing, avoiding the robots. Thor stood his ground and swung his hammer at anything that came his way.
Clint was thrown into a shelf of nearby books, ending up in a nearby room. He got up quickly though and joined the action.
Vex found Steve's shield and held it with a smile. "Steve!" She shouted.
Steve quickly scanned the room to find her and when he did, he let out a breath of relief. Vex tossed him his shield and he easily caught it, swinging the item at a nearby robot.
Vex used her magic to take down most of the robots, her eyes burning brightly as she did so. It seemed as if all of the robots were headed her way and she was extremely confused.
Steve came to her side and hit a robot that had tried to sneak up behind her. Finishing the last one, Vex let out a breath of air.

"Thanks," she said in between breaths.
Steve nodded and looked her over quickly. He looked at everyone else, making sure they were all okay. Everyone's gaze turned to Ultron, who was pacing, as if he were waiting for them to finish.
"That was dramatic, I'm sorry," Ultron apologized. "I know you mean well, you just didn't think it through."
Vex stared at him in confusion as she moved closer to Steve, removing her heels. He looked over at her for a second, silently asking if she was okay, and she nodded.
"You want to save the world but you don't want it to change," Ultron continued. "How is humanity saved if it's not allowed to evolve?"
Ultron made his way to one of the broken robots and leaned down, breaking it. He picked up the head and looked at it with what seemed like disgust. "With these-these puppets?" He spat.
Ultron squeezed the head an the face dropped to the floor, the head following seconds later. "There's only one path to peace...the Avengers extinction."
Before anyone could react, Vex shot a blast of her magic at Ultron, causing it to fly into the wall and crumble to pieces.
The group shared uneasy and confused looks. Their attention turned back to Ultron however when his 'body' began to play a tune.
It was a familiar tune that Vex had listened to on multiple occasions when she was a child.
"I had strings, but now, I'm free," it sang, it's blue eyes dimming after.
Vex looked over at Steve with a slightly scared expression and he frowned, making his way over to her.
"Was that supposed to be apart of the party?" Vex asked, annoyed.
Tony was at a lost for words as he stuttered. He made his way back to the lab, along with Bruce. Slowly, everyone followed. Thor however, went after the robots, leaving out the window.
Maria took off her shoes, attempting to remove the glass out of her feet. Vex came over to her and Maria tensed slightly.
"I can help if you'd like," Vex offered, holding out a hand. Maria hesitantly nodded and Vex bent down, attending to the woman's injuries.
Natasha and Bruce both looked through the database, trying to see if something had been erased or deleted. Helen Cho, who hadn't said a word, stood by the doorway with her eyes closed.
Steve stood by himself, leaning up against the wall with his arms crossed over his chest. As Vex helped Maria, she could practically feel the anger radiating off of him.
Clint and Rhodey, along with Sam, sat in separate areas, not saying a word either. "Do you guys need any help?" Vex asked, wrapping up Maria's foot.
"I just need something cleaned and bandaged," Clint answered, Rhodey agreeing.
Vex nodded, turning her attention back to Maria. "I'll help you guys in a bit," she told them.

Once she was finished, she made her way over to Clint, not saying a word. As she worked on his shoulder, Natasha sighed.
"All of our work is gone," Bruce stated, cutting Natasha off before she could say anything. "Ultron cleared out, used the Internet as an escape hatch."
"Ultron," Steve said, a hint of annoyance in his tone as he repeated the word.
"He's been in everything...files, surveillance," Natasha commented. "He probably knows more about us than we know about each other."
Everyone shared a wary glance between each other as those words left Natasha's mouth.
"He's in your files, he's in your internet," Vex began, moving over to Rhodes. "What if he gets ahold of something a little more...exciting?"
"Nuclear codes," Maria breathed out, placing her head in her hands. Vex nodded, signaling she had gotten it right and finished up Rhodes' injuries.
"Look, we need to make some calls," Sam said, "assuming we still can."
"Nukes?" Natasha questioned, still not believing it. "And he said he wanted to kill us."
"You guys," Vex pointed out. "Just the Avengers...no offense."
Steve sent her a look before turning his attention back to Natasha. "Not dead, extinct," he corrected.
"He also said he killed somebody," Clint added in, rolling his shoulder slowly.
Maria looked confused as her gaze traveled over to Clint. "But there was no one else in the building," she said.
"Yes there was," Tony interrupted, speaking up for the first time. He received some accusing glares but he ignored them. Tony used his mobile device to make a hologram appear, showing broken lights and parts.
"This is insane," Bruce breathed out, taking his glasses off his face. Everyone looked as if they were hit in the chest, while Vex remained the same.
"J.A.R.V.I.S. was the first line of defense, he would've shut Ultron down," Steve stated, "it makes sense."
"No," Bruce denied, shaking his head, "Ultron could've assimilated him, this isn't strategy, this is rage."
It went silent before the sound of footsteps were heard. Seconds later, Thor burst through the door, his dark gaze settled on Tony. He grabbed the man by his throat and lifted him off the ground.
Everyone stood up but didn't make any moves to stop Thor. "What's going on?" Clint asked, staying still.
"Use your words buddy!" Tony encouraged, gasping for air desperately.
"I have more than enough words to describe you Stark!" Thor hissed, glaring at the man.
"Thor!" Steve yelled sternly. Thor reluctantly let him down, but kept a relatively tight grip on his throat. "The Legion air?"
Thor turned to Steve slightly as he answered him. "Trail went cold about a hundred miles out but it's headed North, and it has the scepter," he said, his tone becoming dark at the end.
"The genies out of the bottle," Natasha cut in, "Ultron is out, as clear as day."
Helen Cho shook her head, still not understanding anything that was going on around her. "I do not understand. You created this robot, why is it trying to kill us?"
Tony, with his back turned to everyone, began to laugh hysterically. Everyone shared confused glances, their confusion quickly turning into anger.
Bruce rubbed his face, making disappointed noises as he closed his eyes.
"You think this is funny?" Thor growled. He was already mad at Tony and the man was now skating on extremely thin ice.
"No, it's probably not, right?" Tony questioned, shrugging as he pursed his lips. "Is this very terrible? Is it so-is it so- it is, it's sooo terrible-"
"This could have been avoided if you hadn't played with something you don't understand," Thor snapped, cutting the man off.
"It is funny," Tony shot back, "it's a hoot that you don't get why we need this."
Vex looked at him in disbelief as she made her way over to Steve. She couldn't believe what she was hearing from the man. She didn't understand why a robot with the intention of killing everyone would be good.
"Tony, I don't think this is the time," Bruce muttered, putting his glasses back on his face as he sighed.
"Really? That's it?" Tony questioned, narrowing his eyes at Bruce. "You just roll over, show your belly every time someone snarls?"
"Only when I've created a murder bot!" Bruce shot back, extremely annoyed as he glared at Tony.
"We didn't, we weren't even close," Tony said, his voice slightly calmer. "Were we close to an interface?"
Bruce nodded quickly and shrugged, putting his hands into his pockets. Steve stood up from his spot, his arms still crossed over his chest.
"Well you did something right, and you did it right here," Steve said, walking further a bit more. "The Avengers were supposed to be different from SHIELD."
"Anybody remember when I carried a nuke through a wormhole?" Tony asked, looking around the room.
Everyone frowned and let out annoyed breaths of air. "I actually don't remember and I have no idea what you're talking about," Vex commented.
Tony sighed, continuing. "A hostile alien army came charging through a hole in space. "We're standing 300 feet below it," Tony said. "We're the Avengers, we can bust arms dealers all the live-long day. But that...up there? That's the end game. How were you guys planning on beating that?"
"Together," Steve answered, his voice hard and firm, looking down at Vex as she looked away.
"Then we'll do it together too. Thor is right. Ultron is calling us out and I'd like to find him before he's ready for us. The world's a big place; let's start making it smaller."
