《Before I Go ✔️》Chapter 08 | Before I Make A Deal

My doctors say it's normal to feel and overwhelming sense of gloominess. They also say I should wear my prescribed glasses more often but that's not happening. I was paying another visit to the cancer center of Westland. I was ready to hear more terrifying news.
"You'd think they'd have a better selection with the vending machines in this place." I sigh, unsatisfied I look over to Clarity who's nodding her head in agreement.
"I'm pretty sure Doritos and fruit snacks include cancerous things inside them." Clarity says. "What I wanna know is will it give you cancer if you already have it?"
I look at her forming slits through my eyes lids.
Clarity practically lives here. I met her while I was in my first few stages of cancer; she was going through her second stage and now she's entered the chemo phase. Clarity tells me it gets very overwhelming, that the only upside is her choice in her wigs hair color.
"Alex Eastwood."
Both are heads turn to look at the woman wearing pink scrubs. I wave goodbye to Clarity before I follow behind my mother into a large hallway. I'm put into a small confined room before I'm greeted by my doctor who brings out the blood test results from last week.
"Seems we still have some abnormal levels of white blood cells and abnormally low red blood cells, which is expected."
I can hear the sound of my own heartbeat. I can feel myself fidgeting with the tips of my fingers that feel cold, sweaty even.
"Alex."
I snap out of my daze and meet my mothers eyes staring back at me. "Are you okay?"
I nod. "I'm fine."
They lay me in and MRI machine and I stay looking up at the white ceiling before a coil is rested over my face and I'm pulled in. I close my eyes and breath in and out waiting for this to end. Eventually it does and we leave.
The sun batters against my skin that isn't too familiar with warmth. So once we enter the car and drive away do I feel safe again.
Later that day I had just finished eating dinner when the buzzing sound coming from my phone interrupts me. I make my way up into the comfort of my bedroom and take a seat at my desk.
My eyes adjust for a split second when I see the name pop up on my screen. This was unexpected, how did he get me number? What do I reply back with?
I put my phone down staring at it resting against my desk. Another buzzing sound comes from it but I don't want to answer to quickly and seem desperate. So I don't. I chew anxiously on my finger nails until I feel like it's the right time.

I grab my phone and examine the text.
After a moment those three little bubbles pop up on the screen and before I can even see what he sent there's a knock on my window. My head snaps up to see Gavin standing at his window continuing to toss sticks my way from his gutter.
"What do you want?" I snapped at him. The smirk on his lips turns into a grin as he gets up and starts reaching over to my window seal. "What do you think you're doing?"
I stumble back my phone falling out of my hands when he finally reaches my window and jumps inside. I clench my fists tightly when I see his foot finally lifting away from the now cracked screen. I crouch down to its level gently picking it up from the floor. My jaw drops and sudden anger rages through my entire body.
"You broke my phone!" I groan standing up and looking at Gavin who's trying to hold back his laughter. I punch his chest and he doesn't even flinch. "Why are you here?!"
"I came to ask for a favor, are you always this rude?" Gavin frowns at me. "Is that a One Direction poster?" He starts laughing.
"Get out, please." I groaned aloud. I soon realize Gavin isn't moving and he's just staring at me. "Fine, what do you want?"
"Andy found out about the whole thing, somehow the cameras caught three figures leaving that night."
I shrug. "And?"
"And he's blaming Beckham, Carver and me."
"And?"
Gavin starts rolling his eyes. "I'd appreciate if you helped us out and tell the authorities I was here that night."
"What you want me to talk to the police?" I shouted. "I can't do that."
"Why not?"
I open my mouth to speak but find no excuse to use. "I can't leave my house."
Gavin looks at my oddly. "Right your a germaphobe."
I cross my arms over my chest and look down, I was more than a germaphobe actually. "I can have my mom speak with them if it means that much to you." I won't actually do that because my mom would get suspicious as to why I'm helping him. I just want him to leave me alone.
Gavin starts grinning. "See can't you always be this cooperative, now what are we doing?"
I furrow my eyebrows as he starts browsing around my room. He breaks my phone and suddenly thinks we're friends? I don't think so.
"You are leaving, besides it's getting late."

"Seven-thirties late for you?"
"Don't you have anyone else to bother?" I queried. "Go find Georgia."
Gavin walks towards me and I step back but I feel like I shouldn't be so intimidated by him. Douchebag. "Don't look so scared love, I'm not gonna hurt you." He winks at me. "But I do bite."
"Please." I roll my eyes.
"You have a PlayStation?" He suddenly says looking down at the console which lays below my tv. "You didn't peg me as the gamer type?"
"And you didn't peg me as and obnoxious jerk and yet here we are." I sarcastically reply laughing a little.
"Okay then let's make a deal. If I win you have to get out of this house, I told you I'd help you become less of a loner." He says. "And if you win-"
"If I win-" I start smirking. "You have to go streaking in Westland High. Make sure you record it to."
"You just want to see me naked don't you?"
"I'd rather not, let's just hope the schools air conditioning is on." I glare at him chuckling under my breath. "Deal?"
Gavin licks his lips and sighs. "Deal."
This should be fun. A treat for Peyton I suppose.
We hop into a Mortal Kombat lobby and my hands start to feel a bit sweaty. C'mon Alex. A few minutes into the match I've already won, Gavin's now also won, so it was up to the last match. I'm pressing every button like a maniac until the lights start to flicker and it eventually turns dark. My mouth opens just a bit because I almost won. "W-what?"
"Powers out I guess." Gavin says standing up from the floor of my room. No shit Sherlock. "I can go check it out."
We both hear footsteps approaching the door and I have a sudden instinct to push Gavin and it was surely unexpected so he falls onto the floor with a loud bang. I can't help but laugh out loud.
"Alex?" My mom opens the door to now see Gavin's poorly hidden on the other side of my bed and I'm standing there like I'm innocent. "Gavin, this is a surprise. I didn't think you had any friends over."
"He's not my friend." I state looking down at him and back to my mother who's smiling.
"Well seems like a storm is on its way." She replies as the thunder from outside roars, the lights also begin to flicker again until they die out. "I have flashlights downstairs if you guys want to help me get them."
I heard her clearly right? You guys? Gavin needed to go home where he belonged. My house wasn't open to strangers especially ones such as Gavin.
"This is just great." I muttered trying my best to find my way downstairs. "You need to go home now."
"Your mother didn't seem to mind my company. Why do you?" Gavin says behind me as we slowly continue to walk down each step.
"I don't even know you." I argue.
"Exactly, why are you so quick to judge people?" He asks. But I couldn't help it, I didn't do well in the company of others.
"I just think it would be best if you left." I finally say letting out a sigh of relief once we reach the bottom of the staircase.
All of a sudden it becomes quiet. Too quiet.
"Gavin." I called. Silence escaped the room.
He better not fucking scare me.
"BOO!" Gavin yelled beside me causing me to jump up in fear.
"You asshole." I said hitting his hard chest.
"Sorry I had too." He said laughing.
"Let's just find those flashlights."
I moved me hands around, feeling the interior of my house to find my way to the garage.
"Not scared back there are you?" I laughed.
"No." He replied. I kept walking step by step until I hit my leg against something and stumble forward but before I could hit the ground arms wrap around my body. A cars headlights peak through the windows for a second and it's enough for me to see Gavin's face only inches away.
My instinct is to quickly pull away so I do. "I'm fine." I say shoving him away.
"Clumsy much?" Gavin mocks.
Before I can say a snotty remark my mother's footsteps catch my attention. "Found the flashlights." She calls over to us.
I reach for the light and just as I do the house lights up once again. "Well that's convenient." My mom laughs.
"Nice seeing you Mrs Wood." Gavin waves making his way to the front door. "Oh and Alex-"
I quirk up and eyebrow and wait for him to speak as I see the smirk rising up his lips.
"Its a draw." He winks and closes the door behind him.
What?
Oh wait.

His
Seems pointless right? Trying to outrun a wolf. Well you would be correct in thinking that. It was pointless, it wasn't long before I was pulled back into a warm hard chest. The smell so intoxicating making me feel weak. "Why run mi amor" his voice is low and husky.
