《Before I Go ✔️》Chapter 10 | Before I Drown

When we enter the house the first thing I notice is all of the people inside. Drunk people, high people, sober people and then there was me. What category did I even fit into I was probably high on all of my medication right now?
I continue to follow Gavin through the large crowd until we finally enter a strange room. People are sitting around talking and it seems a lot more peaceful in here than it does out there.
"Carver." Gavin calls over.
I finally notice Carver and Beckham and a few other familiar faces, including Georgia and her little posse.
"Alex?" Carver smiles at me.
"Hey." I casually wave.
We walk toward them and take a seat on the few chairs they have around. I don't think Georgia notices me or she's just choosing not to. Let's hope she doesn't even remember me.
"Who's this?"
Shit.
"This is Alex." Carver tells a girl with black hair who's sitting beside him. I'm searching around the room like I need to and see Gavin grabbing a few beers out of one of the ice chests. In pure humiliation I reach for a beer can I thought he was holding out for me until Beckham grabs it. I can see him grin at me and he bites his lip like he's trying to hold back anymore laughter and then I notice he's just drinking water.
"No beer?" I asked him.
"I don't drink, besides I'm taking you home aren't I?" Gavin quirks up and eyebrow. I don't say anything and instead I'm sorta shocked he cares for my safety.
"Your cute." The girl laughs lightly. "Isn't she cute?"
Cute? No thanks.
"Adorable." Georgia laughs with her. "Are you new around here?"
Fake.
"No." I shake my head and before I can say anything else Georgia cuts me off.
"Wait are you thee Alex Eastwood?"
I nod my head.
"Girl I've missed you so much." She adds. "How have you been?"
"I've been-"
"I like totally thought you died or something." Georgia says starting to laugh again. The girl was definitely buzzed. I'm pretty sure the sober her would have humiliated me by now.
"Babe isn't she just so cute?" I can't help but look disgusted as Georgia makes and attempt to crawl onto Gavin's lap.
"Get off of me." He says making me let out a loose chuckle. Her eyes dart at me like a bullet and her once happy grin turns into a full on glare.
"Is something funny?"
"Hey we're gonna head out." Gavin tells me. "Just stay here."
"Stay here, with them?" I said glaring over at the drunk girls. "Where's Zach."

"I don't know, just promise me you won't do anything stupid."
"I hate you." I groaned.
"We'll be right back." He smirks turning around to leave with Carver and Beckham.
I'm not sure whether to believe he's even coming back. I turn back to the girls who are just staring at me.
"Why have you been trying to follow my boyfriend around all night?" Georgia asks. "He's clearly trying to get rid of you, take a hint."
"Please you can have him." I scoffed. I wasn't trying to seem desperate but Gavin did bring me here and I had a feeling if I told Gregoria that this wouldn't end well.
Georgia starts walking toward me and pretends to trip so that her cup can spill all over me. Which it does, I can feel the coldness seeping through my shirt. Great I'm wearing white.
"Slut." She laughs out loud.
As much as I wanted to take a swing at her caked face I couldn't. I'd possibly fracture my hand and then I'd have to explain to my doctor that I punched someone in the face.
So instead I storm out of the room and make my way upstairs on a mission to find a bathroom. I can feel the beer getting sticky and it's not a pleasant feeling. After opening countless doors and walking in on people I open a door and bump into someone.
My eyes look up to see familiar brown eyes looking down at me. I stand there in the awkward silence.
"Alex I was wondering if I'd see you here." Zach smiles.
"Yeah me to."
"Oh sorry." He moves from the doorway. "What happened to your shirt?" He asks.
I suddenly feel a little more self conscious considering the shirt is now see through and I smell like alcohol.
"Georgia happened." I said.
"Well here." I watch as he starts taking his shirt off and I don't know what to say.
"No-." Welp it's already off.
"Take it." Zach hands me the black T-shirt he was just wearing and I bet it smells really good too. "I have plenty more shirts in my car outside."
"Thanks." I grinned taking it from him. "I should change." I said walking into the bathroom. I awkwardly close the door behind me and lock it. Shit how does this even happen to me?
Thank you Georgia.
I pulled the shirt over my head and it does smell heavenly. It fits a little large but I tied it up a little. I'm not really sure what to do with my old T-shirt now so I leave it in the bathroom. Once I walk out I see Zach waiting outside. Was he waiting for me? Duh you idiot.

"Looks good on you." He says.
"Thanks, again."
"You wanna head down?"
I nod my head.
So maybe this night wouldn't be the worst after all. Maybe I'm just really negative. Either way it's going good so far and it will take a lot to ruin this.
"I told you to stay in the room." Gavin shouts over the music as we reach the bottom of the stairs. "What the hell, where's your shirt?"
"He gave me his t shirt when Georgia decided to spill her drink on me." I say. I just now realize a lot of people are staring at us because Zach is shirtless and I'm wearing his shirt.
"Yeah I'm gonna go grab one from my car." Zach tells us before disappearing
"Damn we just got here and you already have the guy shirtless?" Gavin laughs and I can't help but feel like he's trying to seem like he's not bothered by it.
I roll my eyes. "That was probably meant to offend me but I'll take it as a compliment."
His smile widens and I notice how darn white his teeth actually are. This guy has to whiten those at least twice a day to have such a perfect smile. Isn't it a little crazy I've known this guy since I was a child and only now am I actually hanging out with him? If him threatening me to go to a party counts.
"Follow me." He says grabbing my wrist, I wince a little because his grip is a bit rough for me and I'm glad he doesn't notice.
"What are we doing?" I say curiously gazing at the large pool once we head outside, there were more crazed teenagers out here. I'm surprised no ones accidentally slipped into the pool and drowned.
"You're a little slow aren't you Wood?" Gavin says finally stopping me in my place. "Guess homeschooling doesn't work out for everyone."
I look down at him as he starts pulling his black converse off. "I'm pretty sure you were the one dropped on there head as a baby, not me." I laugh. "What are you-" my eyes widen as he starts taking his shirt off as well. What was with all these guys stripping in front of me?
"A deals a deal, remember?" He replies. People are now staring again and I quickly turn away when I see him unbuckle his belt. "Don't worry the underwear stays on."
"It's cold we should just head back inside." I say still turned around. This bet was a joke I didn't really want to see this guy naked. Did I?
I can hear a lot more voices now and I can see the flash from pictures being taken. So much for being invisible.
"Alex." His voice sounds harsh so I slowly turn around.
"What?"
My eyes become distorted as a large splash comes from the pool and barely reaches my feet. Everyone from inside starts to come outside to see what all of the fuss was about and all I can see is Gavin's green eyes finally appearing from above the water.
He casually strides to the edge of the pool and brushes his hair back. "Can you grab me that towel?"
I nod my head and once I turn back around he's already out of the pool towering over my petite body. Without any hesitation I practically shove the towel into his hard chest and he doesn't even react to it.
"Don't act like you've never watched me undress in my room before." He smirks at me wrapping the towel around his waist.
To be honest I felt like a creep whenever I did see him undressing so I'd always look away. No one wants to be and invader of privacy.
"Look everyone the nerd thinks she's special."
I turn to see Georgia, her legs wobble around as she struts her way over.
"How pathetic."
"What's your problem?" I hissed making people 'ooh' Georgia didn't take the backtalk to nicely.
"I don't have a problem." Georgia laughs. "Not after I do this."
My hands try to reach out to grab anything as I slowly feel myself falling down. My body hits the cold water and it's like a thousand needles entering my body. Is this how it ends? I couldn't swim to save my life.
I suddenly open my eyes as I start coughing up the water that's trying to escape my lungs. Gavin's looking down at me and all I can think about is running back home in my warm bed. I can feel my teeth chattering it's so cold. How many shirts am I gonna have to go through in one night?
"I just wanna go home." I finally say.
Gavin nods his head and helps me to my feet and for some reason I just can't keep my balance I almost fall back. When we reach the car I'm helped inside and wait as Gavin finishes changing. Definitely the worst night of my life.
"I didn't know she'd try something like that." Gavin tells me.
"Please, can you just take me home."
