《Before I Go ✔️》Chapter 29 | Before I Go On Another Date

I woke up to the sight of the sun peeking in through my window and the warmth of Gavin's hold around my body. My head was resting on his hard chest and I decide to try and get up without waking him. Once I do I grab my phone to find out it's already passed eight thirty.
It was unusual mother didn't even wake me? What if she did and found Gavin and I sleeping? I don't regret anything that happened last night but maybe I shouldn't have let him stay?
I quickly get off of my bed and feel the sore pressure on the bottom my foot. I stare down at my shirt and realize I'm wearing Gavin's instead of my own.
"What are you doing?" Gavin's sleepy voice makes my head snap into his direction.
"It's getting late and you have school." I say. Gavin could probably careless about school but I don't wanna be the reason behind his delinquency.
"I'll skip a day, come lay with me?" He pouts his bottom lip at me. I roll my eyes at him and crawl back into the bed beside him.
"I'm not letting you skip school for me."
"Ugh, fine I'll go." He gives in and kisses my forehead. "I want to take you somewhere this Friday."
"Are you asking me out on a date?" I tease, Gavin hangs his head back like he's embarrassed now. "Yes, I'll go on a date with you."
Gavin smiles at me. "Good otherwise I'd drag you with me either way."
I kiss him goodbye and he makes his way out of the window once again. The last date I went on was with Zach and it didn't end very well. But everything always felt somewhat right when it was with Gavin. I did things I never imagined myself doing, like going to countless parties with or for him. Gavin made me stand in the pouring rain and I trusted him for whatever reason.
"Where is he taking you?"
I look up at Peyton who's applying some blush to my cheeks. Her eyes are squinting in concentration and then she puts some on the tip of my nose.
"I don't know yet." I admit with a shrug.
It was Friday night and Peyton was here to help me before my date. I shockingly wasn't feeling nervous but instead excited. Gavin hasn't told me where he's taking me as much I tried to force it out of him all week long.
"Red lipstick?" Peyton asks me. "Actually no you'll probably make out and that can get very messy."
I roll my eyes. "I'll stick to chapstick, hey do you think Ash is mad at me?" I blurt out, he hasn't answered any of my texts and he's usually over on nights like these. I'm sure Peyton told him who I left with the night of the party and that Gavin and I are now sorta together?

"Actually I don't know. I've been with Beckham most of my time now, he hasn't really spoken to me." Her expression changes and she looks unhappy. "I understand though I mean Ash isn't fond of those type of people."
"Those type of people?" I laugh out loud. "What happened to us?"
I realize how much has changed in the last couple months. It always used to be the three of us, Peyton and I weren't fond of people like Gavin or Beckham either and somehow we are now?
"I don't know." Peyton tells me.
I get up from my desk and walk to my closet. My mother picked up a dress for me yesterday without my knowledge. I had mentioned the date to her and she knew I don't have much to wear out especially for a date.
The dress was black and I examined the way it clinged tightly to my waist and flairs our at the bottom. There also isn't too much cleavage showing, I actually like it.
"I'm wearing my converse." I tell Peyton. I know it probably wasn't very formal or considered date appropriate to wear sneakers with a dress but my foot was still healing and I hate wearing heals.
"Please Alex you could wear a paper bag and still be one hot date." Peyton boosts up my confidence and I chuckle at her.
I grab my denim jacket from my bed and put it on once Gavin texts me that's he's coming over. My mother's already waiting downstairs and I ignore Peters scowl as he sees me walk down. I wish I could have a dad that was proud of me I wish Peter would try or even fake it sometimes. I wish he could tell me he loves me and that I should be careful tonight.
"Give me a hug." My mom says wrapping her arms around me. "Your growing up so fast."
"That's enough." I say pulling away from her.
*knock* *knock*
I turn the door knob and I'm greeted by Gavin who's holding a single red rose in his hands. "I thought this would be more sentimental? A bouquet of roses just seemed a bit much." He chuckles and I take it from him.
"Thank you."
"You look, perfect." He adds his lips curve up into a smile. The night he came, before my date with Zach he told me I looked decent but I had feeling he meant to see this all along. I take this time to admire him as well he was wearing a black button up shirt and dark washed jeans with his black and white converse.
We were matching, coincidentally.
"Be careful you too." My mother says. "Don't stay out too late either."
"Got it Mrs E." Gavin tells her.
She waves us goodbye and Gavin intertwines are fingers and puts a kiss to my cheek before we walk over to his car.

"Shit I almost forget." Gavin says as we reach his car he runs back over to my side and holds the door open for me. "I'm new at this." I laugh and sit inside before he closes it.
After driving about fifteen or so minutes we finally pull to a halt. "Is this the place?" I query once Gavin stops in the parking lot of the building. From my eyes view it's really crowded and since we're on the left side of the building I can't make out where we are.
"This is the place." Gavin confirms.
"And you still aren't going to tell me what it is?" I question after he opens the door for me, helping me out of the car and then closing the door behind me once again.
"You're so full of questions tonight." Gavin observes with a grin as I loop my arm through his and we walk towards the building together.
"That's because I like to know what's going on." I defend.
"Well continue to be a little oblivious for another minute or two." Gavin tells me.
"I guess I can handle that." I respond with a dramatic sigh.
When we reach the front of the building a few seconds later, I glance at the top, where the name is written in fancy black calligraphy and then I let out a small gasp.
"Oh my gosh, no... we can't go in there." I inform Gavin, who is holding the door open for me with a confused expression.
"What you don't like Italian?" He wonders.
"No, I do." I tell him. "But Calandras is way too expensive." I explain.
"Alex it's okay." He tells me with a soft laugh.
"Are you sure, I'd be fine with Mabel's Diner." I say.
"I wasn't going to take you to Mabel's for are first date." He says walking in after me. "Maybe next time."
"Next time?" I echo, as we walk to the podium. "Who said there'd be a next time?" I ask teasing him of course.
"I'm pretty sure there will be a next time." Gavin replies with a boyish grin.
Let's just say this restaurant is very high class and expensive, knowing myself I'm clumsy. Before I can reply with a witty comment the woman at the podium asks "what may she help us with."
"Reservation for Cambridge." Gavin answers.
"Yes Mr Cambridge your booth is ready." She answers with a polite smile. "Anthony will show you the way." She adds gesturing to the male waiter who seated the last couple. "Have a nice time."
"Thank you." Gavin thanks the lady before we follow Anthony. We stop at a booth, the seats are a really fancy red leather texture with the tables made of a light wood.
I take a seat while Gavin takes a seat in front of me. "What can I get you guys to drink?" He wonders taking out a black notebook.
"Well." I mumble picking up the menu and opening it, looking for the drinks. "I'll take the Iced Green Tea Elixir." Reading the name of the first thing I saw that was in English.
"Okay and for you sir?" Anthony asks looking at Gavin. "I'll just have the Aranciata RossaGavin replies and I have no idea what that is but it sounds delicious.
"Okay, our special appetizer is the palpettowould you like to try that?" He asks.
"Sounds great." Gavin replies. Anthony says he will be back momentarily with the appetizer and our drinks.
"This place is insane." I murmur in fascination, looking around the incredible restaurant, it was once a planetarium so not only is it dome shaped but the ceiling is glass. So we can see the night sky right above our heads.
The only source of light in the room comes solely from candles, which are ablaze on ever table in here. The room is pretty quiet aside from the soft murmurs and soothing melody coming from the harp playing from across the room.
Anthony arrives back with our appetizer and drinks before taking are order of food where I get the Fettuccine Carbonara since it was the cheapest thing. Gavin gets the Veal Marsala and with that Anthony nods and walks away.
"You really didn't have to do all of this." I tell him.
"I didn't, but I did."
I don't know what to say, no ones every done anything like this for me before. Even if Gavin denies being the romantic type he sure knew how to pull on a girls heartstrings.
Are food finally arrives and it tastes heavenly I might just finish it all. I see Gavin's phone light up at the table and his eyes look down at it before he turns it over.
"Who is it?" I say being the nosy person I am again.
"Ugh it's nobody." Gavin replies drinking from his glass. Does he really think I'll believe that? I think he notices the way I look down at my plate and put down my fork because I'm getting annoyed that he's acting so closed off.
"It's Beckham." He finally answers. "He's just wondering where I'm at."
"You haven't told them?" I wonder and stab my fork into my pasta.
"No I told them about tonight and us." He confirms nodding his head at me. "You believe me right?"
I think about it for a moment I should believe him, I need to otherwise this relationship will be based off of lies and Gavin wouldn't lie to me? Would he?
"Yes I believe you."
I give him a weak smile and take a bite of my food.
