《Inner Demons》An Escape from the Cold

'Time flies by when your having fun', I have heard this quote on numerous occasions but it has never felt so tangible as now. The quote continues to ring through my head as everything continues to move at a sluggish rate.
It feels as if the world is laughing at me, rolling on the floor as their mouths release jests. They seem to enjoy toying with me, prodding and smashing, yet never letting the pain come to an end.
Can't they just be compassionate for once? Can't they at least let me rid myself of this pain? For as the world clock hands leisurely spin, my mind feels as if it can't last.
I'm not sure if I can make it...
"OI, NARUTO BAKA!!!!"
An impact lands on my skull, blessed with a subtle crunch. My head swims as it tries to become aware of its surroundings, trying to feel coherent within the blurring reality. It almost makes it when another blow is landed.
"ARE YOU EVEN LISTENING, BAKA!!?"
The screech pierces my brain, cutting through its muddled mess with a blunt, serrated blade. I struggle to keep myself from falling, legs wobbling without composure. I wish I got to eat something earlier, something that would help me win this fight against malnourishment. Yet as I struggle to remain steady, an arm wraps itself around my waist.
"You really shouldn't be damaging your teammate like that. Do you really want to lose a loyal companion through those actions?"
That voice- My cheeks flushed bright red as I felt the warmth of his skin against mine. My heart wouldn't stop thumping, its rhythm increasing as the tempo rose.
"He's not a loyal companion, he's a demon! Why would you look out for someone like him?!"
The arm around my waist tightened, bringing me further into this foreign warmth.

"I'm pretty sure the real demon here is you."
Barely a whisper, inaudible to all. Yet it rang through my ears like the resounding composition of an orchestra. I felt myself get led away from my team, still embraced by that warmth I had always been starved of. And though I knew that this wouldn't last for long, though I knew that this couldn't possibly work, though I knew my death was soon approaching, I nuzzled my head into the redhead's body. It was nice and warm, and I had been lost in the frigid weathers for too long.
Author's Note: I'm sick... TT^TT But, on the positive spectrum, I got to watch about 31 episodes of Haikyuu! :D Anyways, this chapter is also pretty short and probably doesn't make much sense, but hey, Gaara actually made a move on Naruto! They're not just going through clueless gay panic! Anyways, I hope you enjoy this chapter and please point out any mistakes I made since my brain isn't functioning properly. Thank you

Teddy Bear
As it would stand, the truth of the matter was that aliens had visited Earth before. Roswell was neither a hoax nor unique. It was simply a consequence of a world growing smaller as communication systems became more and more advanced, partly a result of said visitations. For the most part, past interactions between one of the planet Earth's more intelligent species of lifeform and the alien visitors were along the lines of obscure scientific surveys and tests disturbingly similar to attempts by some human scientists to estimate the intelligence of simians. For any species capable of travelling the stars. Visiting planet Earth made about as much sense as backpacking through the Ural Mountains of Siberia with nothing but a flint and a compass. That is to say, most people would prefer to stay close to someplace within walking distance of a mall or a population density slightly higher than four sapient beings per parsec. Still, statistically speaking, there are bound to be some weirdos who find joy rides though a nowhere solar system fun. Just buzzing a frantic farmer or two and playing chicken with an F-16 for the heck of it. Maybe even bring home a bovine to show off to the guys at the office.
