《delivery girl》Ch.2

That night, when Daniel got home, he curled into a ball and went on his phone.
'Oh my god...' He thought as he came across the video of his beatdown on Facebook.
'I wanna die..' He thought, watching the footage of his face getting pounded in by Zack.
'I guess I'm a Facebook star now.' He thought bitterly, looking at how the video had 69,211 likes and 17,145 comments.
'I'm a waste of space.' He thought as he sniffled.
'I'm fucking garbage! I'm screwed!' Daniel thought, tears running over his cheeks.
He looked at the video and comments.
Daniel scrolled through his empty contacts, his mom and takeout numbers don't count as friends.
'I'm here! I'm human! I'm here!' Daniel thought as he cried.
After his pity fest, Daniel wiped the snot off his face and sighed, grabbing his phone and calling one of the food joints he had seen on his walk before... you know.
After he hung up, Daniel flopped back onto his bed and stared at his ceiling.
After what could have been anything from fifteen to forty five minutes, a knock on the door startled Daniel, who was just about to doze off.
He grumbled as he rolled out of bed, not even bothering to put a shirt on as he padded over to his front door.
He grumpily flung his door open, just wanting to get his food and send the delivery guy off.
"Good evening." A smooth, feminine voice said, effectively breaking Daniel out of his grumpy aura.
He looked up, craning his neck so he could do so, he was met with (e/c) eyes with dark circles under them.
"H-Hi." Daniel stuttered, too busy admiring the girl in front of him to formulate a proper response.

The girl was speaking to him, but Daniel was too focused on the way her plush, glossy lips formed the words.
He was broken out of his totally-not-creepy trance when the girl began to snap her fingers in front of his face to regain his attention.
"Hey, earth to little guy." She called, unaware of the reason why Daniel has suddenly zoned out on her.
Daniel shook his head and looked back up at the girl with a mortified blush.
He was about to apologize more than he probably had to before the girl said something along the lines of-
"He really messed you up, huh?"She said casually, tilting her head to look down at him.
Daniel paused, "...Excuse me?" He asked, not sure if he heard her properly or not.
"Oh, sorry. You're the guy from Facebook, right?"
Daniel paused for a moment, looking up at her.
Her expression didn't change.
'Damn, even the late night delivery girl recognizes me.' He thought defeatedly.
"Ah, um... yeah. I am." He admitted, there was no getting out of it.
The girl watched as his cheeks turned red and he began to fidget with his hands nervously.
She sighed and pressed her lips together, her expression softening as she looked down at him.
He recognized the look. It was pity, nothing new for Daniel Park. He looked back to his feet to avoid the painfully familiar gaze.
Daniel only looked up when he heard a muted 'thunk' when his pizza box was put on the ground.
He would be upset at the mistreatment of his food, but his curiosity took charge as he looked at the top of her head, which was covered by a red cap with the restaurants number on it.
'What's she doing?' Daniel wondered as he watched her rummage through the black backpack that was hung on her shoulders.

His eyes widened when she pulled out a wallet covered in cartoon characters and she looked through her money. She took out a few bills, and stuffed them into her pocket.
Then she bent over the pick up the pizza again and handed it to him.
"Here, it's on me... Sorry for what that guy did to you, he's a known jerk."
Daniel was shocked, barely processing what was happening around him.
"W-Wha-"
A pretty girl not only talking to him, but paying for his food? This couldn't be real...
She began to walk back to the street and slung her leg over a bike.
"Have a nice night!" She called as she began to pedal off into the night.
Daniel stood in his doorway, still trying to understand what had just happened.
"Not even a tip?" He wondered aloud, as if that would magically make the girl turn around and come back.
He sighed and let a smile spread across his lips,
After Daniel had eaten half of the pizza that was supposed to last him the rest of the week, he curled up on the mat on the floor that he called his bad and drifted off to sleep.
================================
Daniel stirred awake a few hours later,
'Ah, I guess I nodded off' he relaized as he opened his eyes, greeted with the sight of his new apartment.
'Gotta pee' he thought, humming to himself and he dragged his body out of bed and into the bathroom.
He squinted at his surprisingly good vision as he opened the bathroom door, even though he wasn't wearing glasses.
'Was I wearing lenses?' He wondered.
Daniel's thoughts wandered as he stood in front of his toilet, 'After a bit of sleep I feel lighter.' He noted delightfully.
Daniel's mind continued it's adventure in lala land as he went about his business.
'Was the ceiling always this low?' He wondered, before shaking his head.
'I guess I'm not used to it here. Even the sink looks lower too. Maybe my eyes are swollen from crying?'
He turned the faucet on and put his hands under the cold stream of water.
'Gotta wash my hands, how swollen are they?'
He looked up into the mirror to see the condition of his eyes.
In his reflection, Daniel saw something he defiantly wasn't expecting.
There was a beautiful face with his eyes, and a lean, muscular body to go with it.
He couldn't do anything but gasp.
He opened his mouth, but no noise came out.
'Huh?'
Daniel looked into the mirror with wide, confused eyes. What in the ever loving fuck was going on?
He was scared, and with good reason.
After Daniel had enough time to get his voice back, the only thing he could say was
"Oh."
Then he stumbled backwards and fell flat on his ass on the bathroom floor.
'What is this?'
'A dream?'
'My body?'
'But it hurts.'
'Should I call the police?'
'911?'
'Nope, first mom!'
Daniel's trembling fingers paused above his phone screen.
There, sleeping on his bed, was the body fell asleep in.
The body he that he was supposed to wake up in, but didn't.
He stumbled back and fell for the second time in the past 20 minutes.
