《delivery girl》Ch.13.5

(Y/N) and Daniel both stayed back and watched as the group dispersed.
"See ya piggy."
"Take care of Daniel."
"Okay, bye!" Daniel said, waving at them as they left. 'Thank god.'
Once they were all out of sight, (Y/N) looked down Daniel from the corner of her eye, ignoring Zack mumbling about how soft her hair looked.
"Are you sure you're gonna be able to get him home all on your own?" She asked.
Daniel looked away from the punching game, which had been distracting him, and up at
(Y/N).
"W-What? Yeah. I'll be fine."
The girl raised a brow and let her eyes go from tiny Daniel, to his other body, which was nearly two times the size of his conscious one.
"Are you sure? That's not light baggage you've got there." She paused and shifted Zack, who was beginning to slide off of her shoulder. "I've got no problem with helping you."
Daniel couldn't help but smile. 'She really is a kind soul'
"Nah, really. I'm good. You already have your hands full." He said.
(Y/N) let out her trademark almost-laugh. "Yeah, that's one way to put it. I'll see you around, Okay?"
"Yeah."
And with that, Daniel was left to his own devices.
And (Y/N) was left with a drunk Zack.
It was an eventful walk back to Zack's house, and while the drunk boy could be quite a distraction, (Y/N) knew the way.
The only time she really stopped was when Zack emptied the contents of his stomach onto the sidewalk...
And the poor girl's boots. Thank god she only wore those for work.
Zack began to cry again, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry (Y/N). A good friend doesn't puke on their buddy's boots. Even if the boots are ugly as fuck." He sniffled.
(Y/N) had to squeeze her eyes closed and take in a deep breath through her nose and release it through her mouth.
When she opened her eyes again, she did her best not to look down her boots and trekked on.

"At least it's out of your system." She sighed.
Once they finally made it to the Lee household after nearly half an hour of walking, (Y/N) was relieved to see nobody was awake.
She unlocked the door with the spare key that they still hid under the rock in front of the first step and led Zack in, doing her best to hush him and make sure he didn't stumble too much.
But alas, once they reached the second floor, a bedroom door opened and Zack's sleepy mother walked into the hallway.
She zapped to life when she saw a familiar face opening the door to her son's room.
"(Y/N)?" She whispered, not believing her eyes.
"Mrs. Lee, hi." (Y/N) whispered back, trying not to wake up anyone else who could have been sleeping.
"Oh honey, it feels like it's been forever since I've seen you!" Mrs. Lee said sweetly.
(Y/N) forced a smile and subtly stepped on Zack's foot when he began to groan.
"It does. I got myself a job so I've been busy. If you ever find yourself getting pizza at 3am, it'll be delivered by yours truly." She chuckled awkwardly.
"Ah, You've always been a night owl." Mrs. Lee smiled warmly and crossed her arms.
"Zack and I were just studying, and the poor kid's exhausted. So I'm just gonna go set him up and be off. Since it's a school night and all."
Mrs. Lee nodded, feeling guilty for keeping the girl waiting.
"Oh dear, I'm sorry. You go ahead."
(Y/N) nodded and opened the door the rest of the way, letting Zack stumble into his room on his own.
"(Y/N)?" Zack's mother called out one last time.
She hummed and looked at the woman who called to her.
"It's really nice to see you again, sweetie."
(Y/N)'s lips twitched into a more genuine smile.
"Same to you, Mrs. Lee."
And with that, (Y/N) closed the door behind her and Mrs. Lee returned to bed with her husband.

Inside of Zack's room, (Y/N) watched the boy struggle to take off his shoes for a few moments before she sighed.
"You're really a mess, huh?" She said, pushing Zack onto his bed so he was sitting, and got to work on untying his shoes for him.
Zack stared down at her and asked "(Y/N), why do you always act so funny?"
(Y/N) paused for a moment, but continued to take off his shoe after a second.
"What do you mean by that?"
Zack sighed. "You're being weird. Especially with that piggy that we were talking about before the fight. Back in middle school you would have bugged him too."
(Y/N) looked up at Zack from her place on the floor, her expression blank. "Some people grow up, Zack."
"But why did you have to grow up so fast?" Zack asked with a pout.
After hearing that, sadness flickered across the girl's face, but it disappeared as soon as it came.
"Things happen." She shrugged, moving to stand up.
"You're welcome for not getting you caught, by the way." She said as she turned around got ready to walk away, but Zack grabbed her wrist.
"I miss you, you know. I always wonder why we're not friends anymore." Zack said, his eyes began to water again.
(Y/N)'s shoulders sagged and she sighed, but she made no move to remove her wrist from Zack's hold.
"I'm not doing this right now." The girl said tiredly.
"I want to be friends again."
Now (Y/N) snatched her hand away, and turned around to face Zack, her eyes slightly narrowed.
"You're drunk." She stated plainly, refusing to believe what was coming from the boy's mouth.
Zack sniffled, "But-"
"Talk to me when you're sober." She said instead. Not completely shutting him down, but not a yes either.
He would probably forget any of this even happened by tomorrow morning anyways. She didn't have to worry about what she said too much.
"Promise?" Zack said, holding up a pinky.
(Y/N)'s lips spread into a half smile and she linked her pinky with the Zack's.
"Promise." She repeated.
Zack smiled so brightly that (Y/N) nearly had to squint her eyes, and before she had the chance to even think of escaping, Zack wrapped his arms around her and fell back onto the bed, dragging her with him.
The girl let out an 'oof' when they landed, as stiff as a board.
When the boy squeezed her, she groaned but relaxed in his arms.
"Ugh, ew." She whined, pretending she hated it but not struggling.
Zack giggled one last time before falling asleep, giddy at the thought of having one of his his childhood friends back.
(Y/N) couldn't bring herself to leave until she was sure that Zack was sound asleep.
________________________________
The next morning, when Zack was getting ready for the school day, he was of course surprised to find that his face had been vandalized.
Across his forehead was messily written 'I was here', he had a curled mustache and there was a dick drawn on his nose.
He groaned and slammed his hand on the counter because not only was he hung over, but his he had to deal with this.
He put his hand on the sink's handle, he saw something was written there as well.
It was a slightly smudged phone number and next to it said 'talk to me when you're sober'.
Zack grinned to himself and made sure that he would remember to put the number into his contacts and got to work on cleaning his face.
After lathering his face with soap and splashing warm water on his skin, Zack wiped his face with a towel and looked in the mirror again.
When he saw his reflection staring back at him, and looking the exact same as he did when he woke up, he screamed.
"THAT BITCH USED PERMANENT MARKER!"
Guess she really didn't want him to forget.

Game Dungeon
A recently deceased man finds himself imprisoned in a prismatic gem, confused and missing pieces of his memory he wishes to play video games, but to his horror, he is stuck in a world of sword and magic. Hello! I am the writer of Game Dungeon thanks for your feedback! Although my intentions were not to insult the reader I can see how someone would think that way. I have no plans to change it as of now and it's better to put it out there as a warning that I use a lot of words with similar meanings but are used very irregularly. Honestly speaking my English teacher was weird and a lot of words I use are more complicated than they need to be, but again something I was drilled into was not reusing words apart from "I".

Forced Development (What does it truly mean to live a fulfilling life?)
To get things started I would like to admit that this story does not bring much new to the table when it comes to the over-saturated Litrpg genre in terms of things like mechanics and power systems. Then what exactly am I trying to bring to the table with this work? A nice slow-paced novel about people maturing and growing older think of it as the re: zero or jobless reincarnation of Litrpgs. A story that tries to take into consideration how a worldwide system would affect the economics and culture of a world. A story that is much more character-focused than the typical heavy progression-focused novels this genre is known for. The RPG system, like any good power system, is there to actually explore the themes of the story and not just as a plot device for characters to get stronger. This is a story where we will see the growth of the Mc from being a baby to when he dies of old age. With plenty of heart-racing actions and intriguing plot developments along the way. Exploring themes like; What does it mean to improve at something and what does it mean to mature as a person? How does magic, the constant threat of monsters and people so much stronger than the average joe that they can destroy countries affect one's culture both on the micro and the macro scale? How people are affected by the culture in general? Generational trauma Nature vs Nurture Talent vs hard work What is morality, society, and people's opinions on both? What does it mean to be human and what does it mean to be alive in the context of a world with multiple sapient species vastly different from one another in basic biology? All these questions are going to be explored from multiple angles using the system as a catalyst for those discussions. So if any of does questions sound interesting to you what are you waiting for, I'm sure you are going to love this story. PS - Chapter come out every Friday at about the same time.
