《Steal The Male Lead》4.19

It was a mess. Lee Shinwoo could hear everything around him, the screams, the shouts, the sound of the zombies growling and moaning. Everywhere, there were bodies on the ground, most of them were zombies but there were still a few humans whom had been attacked.
Because of the cure Ji Soyu has given them, Lee Shinwoo didn't have to be wary but he still made some people return back to hide. Max was still injured and even though Min Hosung had healed him, he was still suffering from internal injuries. Jo Soyu was too young and Kim Jiyoung also didn't know how to fight so the three of them went back.
Lee Shinwoo had tried persuading Shin Hana and Lee Hwangyang to leave but they wouldn't so he could only allow them to join in. Lee Shinwoo was still worried about Min Yongjoon even though he knew that he shouldn't be. And there was still this itching feeling inside of him that felt like something was going to happen, something unexpected.
Lee Shinwoo returned back to focusing his attention on killing the zombies, no longer caring for appearances and using everything he could to destroy them as fast as possible, even if the sight didn't end up pretty.
(Fei Shang, how many zombies are there?)
[Host, currently, a rough estimate of five hundred still remains. There are also some higher level zombies in the crowd but the highest is a level three.]
(What can a level three zombie do?)
[They can control the mass and also retain a little bit of human intelligence. There is only one zombie that is a level three, ten zombies are at level two, meaning they can run and their attacks are faster. The rest of the zombies are a level one or don't have a level at all.]
(Alright, also, you can bring me back to life as far as I remember. Can you bring someone else back to life, someone that's not me?)
[Host, I can't, I only have control of you because I am bonded to you. I can give you things that could save them but if it's too late, it won't work.]
(Okay then, thank you, Fei Shang.)
Lee Shinwoo watched as Min Yongjoon slowly came back to his side killing any zombies that came at him.
"How many of them are left?" Min Yongjoon asked, his breath a bit shaky as he took off the head of a zombie near him.
Lee Shinwoo clicked his tongue, his hand moving as a fire explosion occurred and took out five zombies. "Definitely more than a hundred. I don't know how long this is going to take, can you use your ability yet?"
Min Yongjoon bit his lips, the long sword in his hand swinging as he continued decapitating the zombies. "It's on low level right now. I'm waiting to charge it up so I can use a big attack to take out a big portion of the zombies." He ducked as an attack came from behind him.
Lee Shinwoo nodded his head even though Min Yongjoon couldn't see. "Don't use your ability yet, you used it too much so just wait."
Lee Shinwoo could see that the zombies were slowly lowering, their numbers gradually going down. Right now, there had to be less than two hundred zombies left. Although since some people were also getting attacked, they were also adding to the numbers of zombies that were still there.

Just as Lee Shinwoo thought this, a hand at his ankle grabbed him and pulled him down. Lee Shinwoo was barely able to catch himself off the ground as he looked at the culprit. A human who had turned to a zombie.
Min Yongjoon looked back just in time to see that Lee Shinwoo had been pulled down and he immediately rushed to his side, killing the zombie whom was getting ready to catch Lee Shinwoo off guard.
He rushed to help him up. "Are you alright?" Min Yongjoon asked as he looked at Lee Shinwoo dusting himself off.
Lee Shinwoo nodded his head. It was a close call and even though he had drunk the cure, it still did give him a fright. But at least Min Yongjoon was there to help him.
"Ahhhhhhhhh!!!"
Just then, a loud and eerie screech echoed around. The zombies stopped moving at once as the screech continued, even turning to look back.
A zombie began moving forwards. She had retained some of her human features, her skin unlike that of a zombies but still human. She had a ferocious scowl on, her eyes a pitch black as she moved towards Lee Shinwoo and Min Yongjoon. The zombies looked at her as she moved forwards.
Lee Shinwoo looked at Min Yongjoon's face as he heard a heartbreaking gasp. With a concerned face, Lee Shinwoo watched as Min Yongjoon's face morphed into pain.
Min Yongjoon watched the zombie move towards them, his eyes wide. No. Impossible. "Mother?"
Lee Shinwoo flinched as he heard Min Yongjoon's voice. This was Min Yongjoon's mother, a person whom he loved and treasured. Now she was the leader of the zombies attacking them. Lee Shinwoo could almost hear Min Yongjoon's cries even though Min Yongjoon didn't say anything else.
"Mother?" Min Hosung whispered in tears as Yoo Jinsook hurried to his side. "No, how?" He watched the zombie move closer and closer, the person he called his mother was no longer there, it was now the empty shell of the person whom watched them grow.
And then, she let out a loud growl as her eyes focused on Lee Shinwoo. It was silent for a second after that, everyone watched to see what would happen. The zombies turned to look at Lee Shinwoo for a second before another growl from her made them start moving. The zombies obeyed her command, and began charging towards Lee Shinwoo.
Lee Shinwoo opened his eyes widely as the zombies charged towards him and on instinct, he pushed Min Yongjoon roughly, passing him and smacking into Yoo Jinsook.
"Shinwoo!" Min Yongjoon screamed as he was pushed away, narrowly missing a zombie whom was close to attacking him.
Lee Shinwoo was surrounded by the zombies, and he began attacking as fast as he could. Since he wouldn't get hurt, he knew that he would be fine. As for pushing Min Yongjoon? It was purely on instinct, his body had moved faster than his mind.
Lee Shinwoo was going on a massacre, killing any of the zombies that surrounded him. The zombies were only going after him, they didn't care about any of the other people that were there. As for why?
It was because their leader had told them to do so. Lee Shinwoo didn't know what to do now that he found out that the one commanding the zombies was Min Yongjoon's mother. How was he suppose to deal with this now?

Min Yongjoon's eyes turned red as he watched the zombies surround Lee Shinwoo. Just as he was about to go help, Lee Shinwoo screamed, "Yongjoon, stay there, I'll be fine. They can't hurt me."
It was only then that Min Yongjoon remembered that they had drunk the cure and the zombies wouldn't be able to hurt them. But he didn't understand why Lee Shinwoo had pushed him then.
Min Yongjoon stood from a distance but he also began using his power to kill the zombies around Lee Shinwoo.
The crowd of zombies dropped, from more than a hundred, there were only twenty of them left. Lee Shinwoo could finally breath as he saw that not a lot of people were hurt, then his eyes focused on the leading zombies, Min Yongjoon's mother.
Min Yongjoon also turned his attention towards his mother, biting his lip without a word. The zombie stared at them, her black eyes were black and dark. Surrounding her were two level two zombies.
Just as Lee Shinwoo was going to step up, a soft voice echoed.
"Yongjoon, Hosung."
Lee Shinwoo's eyes widened, she could talk. Fei Shang had said that they still had their human intelligence but he hadn't said that they could talk.
Min Yongjoon and Min Hosung had both froze with her voice.
She stepped forward, still keeping her distance. Lee Shinwoo knew something was off.
Min Yongjoon was the first to speak. With a voice shaking, he looked at her as he asked, "What happened?"
She tilted her head in confusion, her eyes blinking as she looked at Min Yongjoon. "What happened to me? I got turned into a zombie soon after I lost you both. Some scientists took me in and began experimenting on me. After I broke out, I realized I could command the zombies."
Min Yongjoon shook his head, "No, why have you done this?"
Everyone watched in silence, no one was willing to make a move.
She merely knitted her brows, "This? What do you mean? I was trying to find you, trying to find your brother and you."
"But you're killing them."
"The humans? Well, of course. I'm a zombie now, I'm even leading them. But I still love you and your brother as my own." She smiled as she neared the ending of her sentence.
Lee Shinwoo felt goosebumps appear on him as she smiled.
Min Yongjoon's expression gradually changed, Min Hosung was too stunned to say a word.
She stepped closer, Min Yongjoon moved back. This was his mother, she even looked so similar but she was also so different. Min Yongjoon didn't know how he should feel. He looked at Lee Shinwoo who nodded at him, a quiet encouragement.
She watched them carefully, noticing the small exchange between them, her smile got wider. It was a scary image though, especially with her black eyes and her sharpened teeth.
Lee Shinwoo began walking towards Min Yongjoon while still keeping an eyes on her.
Just then, a screamed was heard. "Brother!" Ji Soyu was running towards them with Max and Kim Jiyoung after in surprise.
Lee Shinwoo knitted his brows, not knowing what she was doing here. Then, he felt a bad vibe. Just as he felt movement, he moved in surprise. But that still didn't work.
Something had stabbed him right in the shoulder, if he hadn't moved, it would've been his heart. It was a knife, but who?
"Shinwoo!" Min Yongjoon screamed in shock as Lee Shinwoo got stabbed. The culprit? Kim Jongsoo, Kim Jiyoung's step-brother.
After stabbing Lee Shinwoo, he turned to walk towards Min Yongjoon's mother.
Lee Shinwoo knelt down on the ground as he tried to stop the bleeding from the knife. Min Hosung rushed over right away and started working on healing the wound before it got infected. Min Yongjoon hurried to hold Lee Shinwoo. Everyone was gathered around him, his parents, his friends, his lover, his family.
"I'm fine!" Lee Shinwoo said as Min Hosung used his ability to close the wound.
Ji Soyu had already saw what would happen, this time, it was really seeing into the future. That was why she had rushed here even though Kim Jiyoung and Max had tried to stop her.
"I'm fine! Pay attention to what they're going to do." Once again, Lee Shinwoo screamed out that he was alright as Min Yongjoon held his hand. He was fine, it was just a wound on his shoulder and Min Hosung was already working on healing it. He wanted to know why Kim Jongsoo was helping Min Yongjoon's mother.
"Good job, I always knew I could rely on you. If that child hadn't come in time, you would've gotten rid of him." Her voice was soft as she reached to grasp Kim Jongsoo's face and gently caressed it.
"You were going to kill us all along, this was your plan since the beginning." Min Yongjoon looked at his mother, his gaze filled with disgust. A little part in him did hope that this being before him was still his mother but she wasn't.
She merely smiled as she looked towards him, "I am a zombie now, I only want to destroy all humans." Then, saying that she reached her hand faster than anyone could react and ripped out Kim Jongsoo's heart, he hadn't even known how he died before he fell to the ground.
Even if Kim Jiyoung didn't like his brother, the sight of his heart being ripped out still scared him as he snuggled closer to Max.
Lee Shinwoo was about to say something before he felt another pain tear at his shoulder, and he grimaced. Just then, Min Yongjoon stepped towards his mother. "Yongjoon, don't do anything!"
Min Yongjoon looked back at Lee Shinwoo with a smile, "I'll be fine. Hold him."
And he stepped away, farther from Lee Shinwoo and closer to his mother.
Lee Shinwoo was scared, "Yongjoon!" He struggled against Min Hosung and Yoo Jinsook, but Yoo Jinsook held him firmly. "Let me go! Yongjoon, don't do anything rash! Please." His face of agony was clear, the undeniable fear in his voice was too evident.
This was all too familiar, this had happened before. This was how he had lost him. Just like back then, that man had sacrificed himself for Lee Shinwoo.
And then, Lee Shinwoo couldn't see anything. His eyesight was blurring, unable to see Min Yongjoon's image anymore. He heard a scream, and his body flinched. He felt the people by him running away. His eyesight was dimming, his own consciousness was fading.

Glitch — Alpha [Swedish] [Svenska]
********* For English readers: (Might as well add this information in English to save the lovely souls looking through our works some time) I probably won't translate this work, but I'm working on another translation within YA, if that's something you'd be interested in. This one's horror/thriller, so.. yeah. Maybe sometime in the future. Otilia works at a daycare when a child disappears. Seconds later, the child reappears, like nothing had happened. She thinks she's worked too much, but when disappearences start to happen all around the globe, she and her boyfriend realize that something has gone really, really wrong. When they get an idea about what could be the cause, no matter how unbelievable, they will do everything in their power to get the information to the right people. This was my first-ever-novel and my first gamelit story (though I had no idea that was a thing/genre at the time). This novel contains a lot of violence and blood and can be uncomfortable to read for some people. There is also some violence from, and off-screen violence to, children.
