《Steal The Male Lead》5.19

Tendou Yagami turned his eyes, not knowing where exactly he was. But he knew for sure, this wasn't reality, it couldn't be. He blindly walked forward, the darkness now covering over him as he stepped into it. He wasn't afraid, there was even a bit of peace within him.
With every step he took, the voices seemed to get closer. Though dark it was, Tendou Yagami's body continued to move towards the sounds. He could hear vague words now, yet they also seemed incoherent.
It was weird. It definitely wasn't Japanese, yet his brain seemed to understand what was being said.
"When the peach blossoms bloom once more, I hope you will still remember me."
In front of Tendou Yagami's eyes, the image of a man with long, scattered white hair laid on the bed. Holding him was a man with dark black hair, his hair held by a crown and he was dressed in gold clothing.
And then, the white haired man's eyes suddenly began closing, his arms falling to the side. The man holding him grasped onto him tightly, his lips white and pale as the corners of his eyes turned red and he closed his eyes as he held the man.
Tendou Yagami grasped his heart in pain, a dull aching pain was felt from his heart. It spread as his head began aching, the image of this scene seeming so familiar. His heart was racing, and he didn't understand why. What was happening? Where was he?
From the side, the sound of a baby crying could be heard. Tendou Yagami turned to see a baby by the bed, next to the man whom had just passed away. He walked to the baby, noticing that the boy seemed very similar to both of the men.
The sound of a door was heard as it opened. A woman stepped in, dressed in what seemed like Chinese clothing, though Tendou Yagami couldn't tell what dynasty it was from.
"Your Majesty, the Imperial Noble Consort?" The woman asked as she stepped inside, and seeing the body of the man who laid on the bed, she stopped and froze.
The man, no, the Emperor was who Tendou Yagami believed he was. The Emperor closed his eyes, "Bai Mengxiang....has passed."
Bai Mengxiang was the Imperial Noble Consort. And though Tendou Yagami didn't know how high the ranking was, he was able to tell that something was very different. Gay marriages were acceptable, and some of the men were different. That could only mean that some of the men could give birth as there would be no explanation for why two men were alone in the bedroom with a baby.
As Tendou Yagami began realizing more of this, his breathing sped up. The ache in his head continued to worsen as the words that the two people exchanged were now hard to hear.
The scene changed... a young boy walked over to the Emperor, perhaps around the age of four or five.
Tendou Yagami watched closely. Bai Mengxiang, whoever he was, he felt familiar yet different. And he was gone already.
The Emperor looked the same as before, seemingly not aging yet his eyes held a somber light within them. He looked at the boy who walked in and opened his mouth to say, "Xu Wuhui, have you finished your classes?"
Xu Wuhui, the child of the Emperor and Bai Mengxiang. Tendou Yagami watched on, wondering why he was seeing this even though he knew that it had to be related to him somehow.
Xu Wuhui looked very much like both the Emperor and Bai Mengxiang, more in the turn that his face looked very similar to the Emperor's but still held the features of Bai Mengxiang.

"Father, it's your birthday. The Royal Banquet has been readied, Xiao Lan has asked me to remind you that grandmother wishes for you to go." Xu Wuhui walked over to the Emperor who froze in his actions of reading the many scrolls on the table.
The Emperor seemingly stopped for a bit as he revealed a glimmer of pain in his eyes before he replied with a light smile, "There is no need for such matters. Tell Imperial Mother that I will be away for the night." He returned back to his actions, yet his movements seemed slower than before, his fingers were even shaking.
Xu Wuhui looked at the Emperor but didn't say anything more. He merely nodded his head as he replied, "Alright, Father, I will inform grandmother." He looked at his father at once and finally walked out without another word.
The Emperor looked at his son who had left and sighed. He placed a hand over his red eyes as he whispered, "He really looks like you, he even shares your personality." Then, his eyes turned to look at the painting that hung from the walls, a smile radiating on his face.
Tendou Yagami furrowed his brows, confused by everything that was happening. But, somehow, he felt like he should remember what this was. He tried to touch the painting only for his hands to pass through it as if he were no longer human. He took back his hand at once and looked at it carefully. Finally, he placed his hands back to his side.
Instead, Tendou Yagami looked at the Emperor who had covered his eyes. Why did his actions seem so similar to his own?
The scenes changed again. Tendou Yagami was able to hear the loud noise of a banquet from afar as the Emperor walked towards a tree. It was a peach blossom tree, though Tendou Yagami referred to it as the famous cherry blossom tree.
The Emperor stood under the tree, his mouth opening and closing as he began speaking words that that went unheard by Tendou Yagami. As close as he got, Tendou Yagami was unable to hear anything, merely watching as the Emperor's actions changed.
It didn't take long before the red eyes returned to the Emperor. In fact, even though Tendou Yagami wasn't able to hear anything, he felt a piercing pain in his chest.
He gasped as the image of Bai Mengxiang floated into his head. Only this time, the man smiled at him holding onto the petals of the peach blossoms tree as they stood under it. His eyes shone brightly, one hand holding onto Tendou Yagami's.
As soon as it came, it was gone and Tendou Yagami was left feeling a sense of regret. He should know. Why didn't he understand what was happening?
Xu Wuhui walked towards the Emperor, with him came the same woman who had found out about Bai Mengxiang's death. Perhaps she was Xiao Lan, the woman that Xu Wuhui was talking about. She had to be, for there should be no other people that would be able to be near Xu Wuhui other than those he spoke of. And she had to be close to Bai Mengxiang else the Emperor wouldn't be so lenient towards her.
The Emperor exchanged words with Xu Wuhui as Xiao Lan stood near them. With a gentle smile on her face, even as her eyes reddened so slightly, she looked at the peach blossom tree with reminiscent. The petals fell from the tree, leaving the ground covered in petals. She bent down and picked up a petal and tears flooded her eyes though they didn't fall.

Tendou Yagami was getting a sense of just how much Bai Mengxiang had meant to all these people now. To them, he must've been a man irreplaceable, a man who was the light of their lives.
Tendou Yagami watched as the discussion continued and his feet moved by themselves to walk towards the tree. With every step he took, the expression on his face seemed to morph into a different type of pain. On the tree, there were light engravings on them. They were so faint, almost faded but there were three engravings on them. And there were also Chinese characters that Tendou Yagami couldn't read though he knew automatically what it was.
Meeting, wedding, parting... the first two words were followed by two initials, the last was followed by one initial.
For some reason, staring at it left some pain in his heart. Tendou Yagami knew he couldn't touch the tree physically, but he still reached out to touch it only to miss as his fingers went through the tree.
The scene continued to change, time passing by. Tendou Yagami didn't know how much time passed by but he knew that it had to have passed. Xu Wuhui had grown so much and while the Emperor, who Tendou Yagami found out was called Xu Yongheng, still looked so young, there were faint wrinkles at the corners of his eyes.
Tendou Yagami had slowly watched as Xu Wuhui grew and knew of his interactions with those around him, especially Xu Yongheng and Xiao Lan.
Xu Wuhui was now fifteen years old. At fifteen, he had many achievements done towards his country and was even by Xu Yongheng's side. Throughout his life, he slowly began taking over Xu Yongheng's role as Xu Yongheng developed an illness ten years after Bai Mengxiang's death. The illness didn't make him look any different, but Xu Yongheng was said to be persisting through it while many others had died from it not long after contracting it.
Xu Wuhui's features had already grown out, and he held the most prominent features of Xu Yongheng but carried Bai Mengxiang's widely known elegance.
Tendou Yagami had also found out more about Bai Mengxiang and his life. He was a man who loved Xu Yongheng even when he was left behind, someone who stayed away from scheming even though it involved himself. He was kind and gentle, a man who was widely praised by others, someone who loved without being afraid. But unfortunately, after all the schemes against him and Xu Yongheng, Bai Mengxiang was poisoned and because of this, he later died after giving birth to Xu Wuhui.
Tendou Yagami focused on Xu Wuhui as he sat. He should also add that Xu Wuhui carried Bai Mengxiang's white hair.
Xu Wuhui had just finalized his court session with all the officials. From his side, Xu Yongheng sat looking down and once he noticed that Xu Wuhui had finished everything, he raised a hand to say, "The court is dismissed." Saying this, he stood up as the officials bowed towards him and the eunuchs and maids followed after him.
Xu Wuhui watched his father leave first before he also stood up, the officials once more bowing towards him. From his side, Xiao Lan followed after him.
Tendou Yagami followed after, standing next to Xu Wuhui.
Once they were out of sight from the officials, Xu Wuhui asked, "Xiao Lan, how has my father been doing?"
Xiao Lan hadn't aged a day, but her hair had sparks of white from the stress and worry she had gone through. "Your Highness, His Majesty has been taking his medicine as regulated. He has also abided with what the Imperial Physician had said. Though there is still no news about whether or not the illness will be cleared, His Majesty should be able to live longer than what others have said."
Xu Wuhui listened and nodded his head, his gold robes moved with the wind and his crown dangled a bit. "And how has Her Majesty been?"
Tendou Yagami knew it was Mei Lin, the Empress. Tendou Yagami knew that she was a good person and had also helped and supported Bai Mengxiang. Mei Lin didn't have a relationship with Xu Yongheng, and had never had one. That was what Tendou Yagami had overheard when Xu Yongheng dismissed his harem and left Mei Lin as the only one.
"Her Majesty is well. She is doing her job and handling the management of the servants in the palace. She has also been visiting the Empress Dowager lately too." Xiao Lan replied as she walked behind Xu Wuhui.
"Grandmother is well, I assume?" Xu Wuhui asked as he entered his palace.
"The Empress Dowager is well and healthy. There is no need to worry about her was what she had told me to tell you."
"Xiao Lan... can you tell me more about my mother?" Xu Wuhui suddenly stopped in his steps as he asked while he turned to Xiao Lan. He smiled, a smile with sadness as he looked at Xiao Lan. It was only understandable as he had never met Bai Mengxiang.
Xiao Lan smiled as she replied, "Of course, Your Highness."
Tendou Yagami watched as the scenes changed and sitting before him was Xu Yongheng and Mei Lin. He didn't know how much time has passed in this scene but the two sat before one another drinking a cup of tea. Mei Lin was beautiful but it was her strong nature that stood out.
"His Highness, the Crown Prince has a beloved. Your Majesty, did you know of this?" Mei Lin asked as she looked at Xu Yongheng.
Xu Yongheng didn't seem to show any emotion, but there was a spark of remembrance within his eyes as he coldly replied, "I will leave his future to him. When the past Emperor was here, he had controlled much of my life, forcing marriage upon me to gain power, even the court officials did so."
Mei Lin nodded her head and then she added, "Your Majesty, you still love him so. Imperial Noble Consort Bai would be proud that you lived your life instead of ending it when he had left." She smiled as she spoke about Bai Mengxiang.
Xu Yongheng's grasp on his cup got tighter but he didn't lash out. Tendou Yagami watched as Xu Yongheng sighed and stood up. "Mei Lin, thank you for caring for my son all these years. When I die, I hope that you will continue to do so and treat his Empress and his children the same."
Mei Lin only smiled as she replied, "Your Majesty, you know that I will continue to do so. This is the only way I can repay Imperial Noble Consort Bai for taking his position and marrying the man he loved. This is the only way I can repay you for marrying you when you loved him so much." And even as Xu Yongheng walked away, she merely smiled.
The maid by her side asked, "Your Majesty, shall we visit His Highness?"
Mei Lin stood up and nodded, the hairpins in her hair dangling as she looked ahead and said, "It is time for him to marry. Now that he has someone he loves, he should get married as soon as possible. His Majesty doesn't have long even though he tries to hide it. He will want to see his His Highness' marriage before he departs so that his heart would be at peace, so that he knows he had completed the promise he made to Imperial Noble Consort Bai."
Tendou Yagami watched as the many scenes past by him. Tendou Yagami had watched Xu Wuhui's marriage with his love, Shu Huaren, a Ger, the men who could get pregnant. At 19, Xu Wuhui had married Shu Huaren and the wedding was on a large scale with many attending.
Shu Huaren was pregnant three months after their wedding and Xu Wuhui welcomed a son soon later at the age of 20.
Now 21, Xu Wuhui stood at Xu Yongheng's side. Xu Yongheng had thinned down in the recent years, his black hair fading to white and gray. Though his face still looked the same, it was easy to see that he had lost weight. He laid on the bed, his breath coming out slow.
Gathered around them were the Empress Dowager, Mei Lin and also Xiao Lan.
But Xu Yongheng's eyes were slowly closing even as he smiled. With a weak voice, he said to Xu Wuhui, "Wuhui, from this day on, you will be the Emperor. Don't be a cruel man like I was and love only one person in your life. I was never able to do that for your mother, and I was such a cruel man to him. It was a wonder how someone like him could fall for a man like me." At the end he coughed as he slowed his breathing.
Xu Wuhui showed a sad smile as he watched his father. Now a man, his features had opened up so that he was as equally handsome as his father yet also as elegant as Bai Mengxiang. Shu Huaren stood at his side and grasped his hand.
"Father, thank you for everything you've done. Although I know that you blame yourself for all that has been done, I can only hope that you will be at peace and that you will meet my mother once more." Xu Wuhui said to Xu Yongheng.
The Empress Dowager was very old now, yet she still held onto her life and was very healthy. "Son, if you ever meet Bai Mengxiang, make sure that you love him with all your life."
"Your Majesty, there is no need for you to worry. I will continue my duty and watch over Xu Wuhui and Shu Huaren until the day I die." Mei Lin echoed as she stood next to Xu Yongheng.
"And I will do the same, Your Majesty. I hope that you will be happy meeting Imperial Noble Consort Bai once more." Xiao Lan also said her words to Xu Yongheng, making a vow to care for Xu Wuhui and his children.
Xu Yongheng stammered out a few more coughs as his breath began to slowly fade for real now. He began saying something, but Tendou Yagami wasn't able to hear it. He walked over closer, leaning his ear towards the man's mouth and then he heard it.
"Even if the peach blossoms never bloom again, how can I ever forget you?"
At that exact moment, a rush of pain came over Tendou Yagami's body as he collapsed onto his knee, a splitting pain from inside his head. He screamed, although it couldn't be heard. He gasped as he clawed at the ground, a wave of memories flooded his head. And before his very eyes, his body merged into Xu Yongheng. The image of Narisa Zeno stood before him and slowly merged into Bai Mengxiang.
His eyes flickered as he gasped in pain, his breath coming out harsh.
He was Xu Yongheng, Xu Yongheng was him. Bai Mengxiang was Narisa Zeno, Narisa Zeno was Bai Mengxiang. They had always known one another. They had loved each other.
Realizing this, he screamed, a scream filled with pain as his heart sped so much, it felt like it was going to burst. And then, he lost his consciousness.
Narisa Zeno stood in the hospital. His features had already grown more mature and he was also calmer in a way. How long has it been?
Was it three years already? Three years since Tendou Yagami had been stuck in the hospital, not yet awakening. Three years that he spent waiting for his love to wake up, so that he could smile and stare into his eyes.
Narisa Zeno sat on a chair as he grasped Tendou Yagami's hand and put it up against his cheek with a smile of pain. Three years had passed as the situations on both side of the family began to ease. Narisa Zeno had spoke of his sexuality when he realized that Tendou Yagami may never awaken.
No one made it a big deal, accepting it even though it took some time.
Seru Akita was handling the business of the gang alongside his father.
Noru Kaneki and Suon Karma had gotten together the day Suon Karma was leaving Takimura.
Tendou Akiyama had took over the Tendou Gang and had also found out the traitors, he had also handled Shiru Sakura, Tendou Eiichi and Otashi Hideo.
The main character, Tsukki Ren wasn't able to cause any trouble and merely graduated before going off to university.
With three years, even Tendou Yagami had changed. Though he wasn't conscious, his body was still growing. Now, the man was taller than him at a height of 192 centimeters. His features had also matured, and his already handsome face grew even more captivating.
But Narisa Zeno could only watch the man who laid so peacefully with a heavy heart.
Narisa Zeno missed Tendou Yagami's laugh, his smile, the twinkle in his eyes, even the way he would tease him at times.
Suddenly, the alert in his head went off.
[Male lead's love percentage is at 84%.]
[Male lead's love percentage is at 93%.]
[Male lead's love percentage is at 100%. The Male Lead has successfully been caught.]
Narisa Zeno's eyes widened in shock, his mouth shaking as he watched the man on the bed slowly open his eyes.
Tendou Yagami opened his eyes to a bright light. As his eyes slowly began focusing, he heard a choking sob from the side and he turned to see Narisa Zeno next to him.
Once Tendou Yagami saw Narisa Zeno, his mouth widened to a smile.
His mouth opened and in a hoarse voice, Tendou Yagami whispered, "Zeno, I'm back."

A World With or Without Aliens
Nothing matters. It's not my opinion, it's a scientific fact. This is neither good nor bad, it just... is. I watched my entire country burn, fried on a patriotic pan after some jerk fired a bunch of nukes at the docile fleet of alien ships hovering over us. Who gave this moron such power? I don't know. Everyone involved is most likely dead by now. As for me, I can't die. I feel pain like a normal person would (I think), but no matter how terrible the conditions, I will never die or pass out. Fortunately, a lot of alien technology survived its crash to Earth, so I get to spend some time playing with it until Mr. Author gets bored and decides to screw up my life. Beware, this has a "harem" tag. If you haven't figured it out yet, I'm the main character and am therefore subject to this novel's timeline. While this bars me from the sweet ignorance of Chapter 1's me, it does have other perks... for example, I can tell you that heroine number one is personally responsible for kil-!? H-hey, back off! I'm your character, so if you didn't want me to be like this, then you should've written me differently! Randomguy here! In all seriousness, this novel is meant to explore the concept of nihilism as a post-apocalyptic/supernatural-scifi/satire told from a nihilistic introvert's first-person perspective. As you heard from my unsettled main character, each heroine is going to be a different type of horrifying socio/psychopath with dark motives and dangerous abilities (most of which are psychological). Why would I do something like this? Because I am, in reality, a nihilist who is often frustrated by weird things, like unrealistically dramatic stories, the industrialization of art (specifically music), and people who think swimming in brown creekwater for five hours is a "fun" activity. Don't get me wrong, neither me nor my character are depressed, we're just malcontents who make a lot of nerd references. I feel like the true essence of an "everything is worthless" perspective is lost on most pop-culture figures. The closest character I can think of at the moment is Rick from Rick and Morty, who is a drunk, angry nihilist that experienced tremendous loss. I, personally, find this belligerent state of mind to be very relatable, and have incorperated it into every chapter's introduction. Here, the main character talks directly to the reader (and me), shamelessly complaining about some semi-relevant facet of society, which probably doesn't make much sense... it's not really supposed to, though. These "angry nihilist" moments are just a peak into the main character's everyday existence, and also act as miniature rage-journals for me. It will sometimes take a subjectively 'positive' turn, but not very often. This is because reality isn't good or bad, "it just... is". I will eventually bring it full-circle to optimistic nihilism, since that seems to be a more practical way to live (and by "practical", I mean "doesn't create mental health issues"). It is, of course, a satire. I did this because most unnecessarily emotional moments or people usually make me feel kind of awkward, so I decided to mock them. That is, I plan to mock the characteristics about them I don't like in characters based solely off said characteristics. Thanks for reading, and I hope you enjoy my story!
