He was furious, anger was pouring like fire through him. This was the first time he felt defeated, nobody in years had dared to bring him down like this. He was pacing here and there deep in thoughts. His beta and his Omega were standing near his huge table with their heads hung low.

"Did any of you find them"

The king asked them with a low voice. As if it was a very casual statement but Max knew it better , they still didn't have the courage of meeting eyes with their king. They weren't able to answer his question.

It was not only the king who was at loss, the beta and omega felt the impact more. The guilt of not making it to catch the enemy was killing them every second. They were the higher authority after the king, but after this shameful incident the were being mocked indirectly .

Dominic who was pacing here and there suddenly halted in his steps realising that none of them had answered. Now his anger was at the top but still he again waited for them to speak up but still no response.

"We- we are Tr- trying " they stammered

The king took a deep breath and tried to calm himself down. He ordered the Omega to leave the office as he wanted Max to tell him everything he knew, beacuse Dominic knew there was more to the story. As the door closed king turned his attention towards Max.

" E.X.P.L.A.I.N" Dominic uttered each alphabet with pause and stress in a very low voice. But for Max these words were not just words but a silence before the storm. Dominic turned from Max towards the huge window where the hole forest stood in his view. The greenery always calmed the king in way. Max knew this , and when he saw the serene expression on Dominic's face he decides to speak.

"Alpha its not like we didn't get anything, we actually caught their scent in the woods which led us to some shopping mall. We followed it but by the time we could get them , they just vanished. We weren't able to get a hold on them."

"I think that they aren't alone, somebody is helped them in escaping. We still are trying to figure out who he or she is".

All this time Dominic just kept a stoic expression on his face. Max kept talking whatever he knew.

"There are chances that those intruders might be females"

"Max I don't fucking care either the are males or females , for me the are a threat to my kingdom and i won't spare them for trespassing " Dominic yelled at Max and slowly began to move in his direction. Something had caught the Alpha's attention.

"I assure you Alpha we will find them"

Max saw that the king wasn't paying attention to what he was saying rather he followed where his Alpha was looking at. He wasn't able to figure out the exact Expression on Dominic's face. It was a mixture of shock and surprise both. It was the first time that Max had seen such bewilderment on Dominic's face. Seconds passes to minutes but the king didn't move from his place. He blinked a couple of times and then again stared back in concentration. Suddenly he asked.

"What is it?"

Max was confused as to why he is asking him such a question. Max himself started thinking of what he might have done but then Dominic held Max by his collar and took the necklace in his hand that was attached to his shirt.

"Now Max where did u get this"

Max remained shocked for a moment because he himself had no idea from where did that necklace got lached to his collar . It was a plain silver chain with small shinny diamonds engraved in each of its loop , the chain had a camera shaped pendant attached to it. It was a rare piece of beauty. The camera was also engraved with lots of tiny diamond and a huge diamond in the centre.

But it wasn't the pendant that caught Dominic's attention but the pure and serene vibes that created an unknown pull towards it. Dominic and his wolf both of them started getting restless after holding the pendant in their hand. His wolf started pacing in his mind. It was for the first time in these many years that Dominic's wolf had given such a reaction to something and that too after seeing a pendant . Even Dominic started feeling the same but he wasn't able to figure out the reason behind it. His wolf asked him to keep the locket to himself. The both of them started an internal battle but seeing his wolf literally begging for it to be kept Dominic decided to let him have this and kept the locker in his pocket .

He then noticed that Max waving his hand in font of him to get his attention. Dominic straightend his posture and then gazed back towards Max.

"Alpha I think they might have crossed the borders by mistake. They might have forgotten their way" Max tried to reason with the Alpha

" So what!! If they forgot their way, i will find the truth"

"My apologies Alpha but i think we need to call Jade here"

"Ughhh No!! We don't need her help"

"Alpha you cannot deny the truth".

Jade is a fortune teller and a great tracker. She works for the king during the time of war or any heavy crisis. What happened in his childhood was still a fresh memory in Dominic's mind. Had had come to tell Dominic about his future. At first he didn't believed her but what happened later made him believe her.

Jade had predicted about the downfall of Dominic's family. How they were going to be betrayed and killed by a very close person and how Dominic will be left alone to suffer the agony. It was out of luck or Moon goddess had mercy over him that Max's father found him and raised him like his own son. Jades word still ring in his ears like a siren.

"Its your bad luck that Fate will never be fair to you, you will always be in agony and pain."

And true to that one day Max' father was killed in the war. That broke him beyond repair. The feeling of being left alone hit him again that too hard. This was just a part of his dark life. A page from his life that was opened and told in open. There were many more that are known only by him and which he wishes to keep buried inside his heart forever. Because if they are opened Dominic wont be able to survive the pain again.

"Don't you dare talk about her again in front of me"

"But Alpha I -"

"No just don't okay."

Max decided to leave the topic there and nodded to Dominic's commands.

"With all due respect Alpha, i would still want to bring her to the castle so that she could help us track sown those filthy rouges , I won't let history repeat itself again. Max's pleading look and high tone caught Dominic off guard. Because he had never seen this kind of Behaviour and deep down he knew Max was right and it was any time he would take some actions.

Max wanted to say something more. He wanted to discuss a topic that Dominic never wanted to listen to. Max fought with his thoughts, his inner self tried to stop him from saying anything but his heart felt otgerwise. He thought it was the right moment now.

"Alpha, i want to talk to you about something." Max's heart was beating loudly in his chest. He was praying god to grant him mercy because he knew once the words were out of his mouth Dominic is going to kill him .

Nobody ever tried to bring up the topic of their Luna , their queen. It was a forbidden subject. But Max knew everyone needs their queen. A king is incomplete without his other half. It was her who held the powers of healing the Alpha, her pure love and care would change everything and bring new light to their pack. They longed for her and are waiting for her from years or even centuries.

'You have to find her' Max quickly uttered these words and bowed his head down because he knew Dominic's reaction would be anything but normal.

'What. Did. You. Just. Say ?', I didn't hear you Max, you have to be louder.

Dominic who was facing the other side turned towards Max with a hard glare.

'You heard me Dominic, you have to find her Alpha, Its about time , Everyone needs their soulmate and you- you are incomplete without her. You have shut me and made this topic as if its forbidden but now i cannot, I cannot see u in pain. You have to at least try and find her, just once, what if she is alive? She has to be.

Max waited for Dominic's reaction but not getting any he decided to continue.

"I can help you find her , we can even order others to do so or whats about Jade she can be a great help'

Max waited for Dominic reaction but nothing came out. He sighed and was about to exit when Dominic spoke,

"She doesn't exist" Dominic mumbled quietly but enough to be heard by Max

"Why are you so sure about it, ha why do u always have to think negative " Max suddenly yelled but stopped himself when he realised what he was doing.

Dominic didn't say anything, instead he stormed outside towards his room. Max shook his head in disappointment, he expected the exact reaction from him. But he had a hope that Jade might be the one to help them out of their misery .
